The Lord showed me something interesting today. There are several men and women in the bible who hid from Gods calling. There's a prophet in the Old Testament named Jonah. The Lord told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh to prophesy against it because of their great wickedness. Jonah refused to go and went from the presence of the Lord on his own way. He got on a ship in Jaffa that was going to Tarshish, which geographically is in the opposite direction of where the Lord told him to go. As he walked out of Gods will, he not only put his own life in jeopardy, but also the men in the boat as well as the people in Nineveh.
The Lord has given me several dreams the past few weeks. A few nights ago I dreamt of a prominent minister who many of you are familiar with. In this dream I was watching him on an old black and white TV. As he was standing at the edge of the platform he had a word of knowledge. A lady quickly walked across the stage towards him. He yelled to her "Get out of here." She walked over to him and pushed him backwards off the stage. I then lost reception on the TV. I was wondering if the program was live. I then scrolled though the channels but just got static and was not able to tune the picture back in.
The Lord showed me a basket of mixed nuts in their shells. There were a large variety such as pecans, Brazil nuts, hazel nuts, pine nuts, almonds, pistachio nuts and others that were unfamiliar to me. Some of them were slightly peeled open, some had soft shells that were easy to crack, while others were in hard shells which were more difficult to break open. The Lord is showing me that He wants to release us out of the confinements that we are entrapped in, and anything that is holding us in bondage. As we will soon be coming into a new year, Jesus wants to release us from these things so that we will be free to enter into the New Year with all that He has available for us.
Last night we had a heavy thunderstorm with a lot of lightening. I asked the Lord why this was necessary. He brought me to Exodus 9:23. The Lord brought thunder, hail and lightening flashing to the ground to destroy his enemies. Moses simply obeyed His word by stretching a rod toward heaven. Once again it is time to stretch forth your rod. Jesus is about to do amazing wonders among us to show Himself strong over Egypt. Pharaoh's regime is coming down. In the book of Exodus, the Lord appeared to Moses in a burning bush and asked him to go to Pharaoh with a word from the Lord.
This morning I was listening to the song "This is how I fight my battles." I thought about the scripture in Ephesians chapter six concerning the armor of God. The Holy Spirit then showed me how some people are fighting the wrong battles. They are having confrontations with others because they don't know who their enemy is. They are under pressure but they don't recognize that they are retaliating and wrestling in the flesh. The bible tells us that we are not fighting against flesh and blood but against rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places.
There is a book in the bible about a man named Job. He was a blameless and upright man who had experienced a great loss in every area of his life. Although he went through a horrendous trial for some time, he did not become angry or resentful. The book of Job chapter 42:10–16 tells us that after Job had prayed for his friends the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. Job said during this trying time that he would come forth as gold because he knew that he didn't do anything to deserve such an injustice.
There is a phenomenal story in the book of 2 Kings Chapter 4: 8- 36 of the prophet Elisha who went into a town called Shunem (Shunem means double resting place). There was a prominent woman there who prepared a meal for him and built a small upper room for him to stay each time he came to town. The room had a bed, a table, a chair and a lamp stand. She prepared this place for him because she perceived the anointing on his life. Elisha wanted to pay her back for her kindness so he told his servant Gehazi to ask her what he could do for her. He even asked her if she wanted him to speak on her behalf to the king or the commander of the army.
We are living in extreme times as the world is living in extreme behavior, and now is the time for the body of Christ to rise up and come out of passive and lukewarm Christianity. Throughout the bible we read about radical men and women who were used mightily by God. Joseph was sold as a slave, tested and tried but stood steadfast until the word of the Lord came to pass. Pharaoh assigned him to be Vizier, which is the highest official in Ancient Egypt. (Psalm 105:19) Moses parted the Red Sea with a rod and the Israelites crossed over on dry ground but Pharoah and his army drowned as they tried to pursue them.
The Lord says I am calling the men and the woman who are mature in their faith to teach, nurture and be mentors to the younger ones. I am calling those of you who know Me, know My ways and have submitted your lives to the call. I am calling those of you to train, encourage and support those who are still on milk. I am looking for those of you who have been delivered from the strongholds of the enemy to strengthen the younger ones of the next generations. Those of you who understand the battle and are ready to serve on the front lines will be strong and do great exploits.
The other day the Lord showed me a picture of a lioness nursing her cubs. I understood immediately that He was showing me that He is raising up women as well as men to be mentors to the next generation. Some of you are being groomed for ministry to nurture the younger believers into the calling that the Lord has for them. Those of you who are grounded in the word, know how to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, and are able to discern that which is spiritual from that which is carnal, will mentor these young cubs.
