Consider the heartbreaking story of Samson who traded the secret of his anointed strength for sin. How foolish he was to throw away his supernatural power in his lust for a traitorous, immoral woman. Yet he did, and he suffered greatly for it. When he revealed to her the secret of his incredible physical strength—his hair that had never been cut since birth—she shaved it off, leaving him powerless against his captors. At that time, mortal enemies would punish captives by brutally gouging out their eyes, thus rendering them harmless.
In Song of Solomon 4:1, it says, "You are beautiful, my darling, beautiful beyond words. Your eyes are like doves behind your veil. Your hair falls in waves, like a flock of goats winding down the slopes of Gilead." The eyes of doves are unique. A dove has singleness of vision, which means it can't look to the left or the right. A mule must wear blinders because it's distracted by everything, but a dove looks straight ahead. When the bridegroom said to the bride, "You have dove eyes," he was saying, "You look right at me with a singleness of heart. You're not distracted by what's happening on the left or the right. You have a deep desire for me that I deeply appreciate. You have dove eyes."

There is a quality of spirit deep within the heart that desires a much deeper Christian life. This quality is worth more than great riches, the rarest jewel, or even the greatest talent. It is the quality of a teachable spirit.Mighty warriors who desire to go deeper are teachable. As we study the life of Abraham, we can plainly see why he was so blessed.
"Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there" (Psalms 139:7-8, NKJV). He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him" (John 14:21). We know that God is an abiding presence everywhere at the same time. No matter where we are on Earth, He is there! We cannot hide from His presence. Whether we recognize Him or not, He is always there. It is comforting to know that He stands right beside us.
"You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace" (Song of Solomon 4:9). Why do I believe what I believe? It can be summed up in one word — "relationship." It's not about slavishly following an extensive list of authoritarian rules lest I anger God. It's all about knowing Him personally and wanting to please Him. The religious leaders in Jesus' day firmly claimed to know God, but killed Jesus when He came to rescue humankind.
"If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show unto man his uprightness." (Job 33:23) There is a great need for interpreters in our day. These are the ones Father can trust to share His heart and impart that truth into the lives and circumstances of desperate souls. But they are few and far between—one out of a thousand, according to Scripture, and it's probably not much more today. The Lord chooses and qualifies these anointed ones to speak His heart into the lives of others.
"Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir." Psalms 45:9 "Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti." Esther 2:17 There's nothing more charming than a woman in love, preparing to wed the man of her dreams, except when that woman is the beloved and beautiful Bride of Christ who is smitten with her King! In Psalms 45 we read about an upcoming royal wedding where the queen wears a one-of-a-kind stunning gold gown.
"Deep calls unto deep at the noise of your waterfalls: all your waves and your billows are gone over me." (Psalms 42:7) In my spirit I hear the wooing of the Lord tenderly calling to His treasured Bride in 2018. The deep things inside Him are stirring the deep things inside us. All over the world we see this holy cry for more of Him. He's stirring in us an urgency to run after Him with all that is in us because time is short, and the wise virgins of Matthew 25 must have their lamps filled with oil and be ready for His soon return to establish His kingdom. "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?" (Psalms 42:1)
The Lord gave me this vision as I was waiting on Him during the night season. As it gradually unfolded in front of me, I clearly saw the following events take place. I sleep, but my heart is awake; it is the voice of my beloved! He knocks, saying, "Open for me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one; for my head is covered with dew, my locks with the drops of the night" (Song of Solomon 5:2, NKJV). "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me" (Rev. 3:20, NKJV).
"In your presence is fullness of joy..." (Psalms 16:11b) I want to tell you a secret you may never have heard before. There's a special place you can go that's so sweet and more real than mere words could ever express—a place that will cause you to raise your hands and fall to your knees, where you can't help but weep with extraordinary joy. In this special place, you can bask in God's love and lie before His feet for hours on end. This is where He draws near to you and imparts spirit and life into the dark, empty places inside you. It's a rare place where the very fire of heaven is released to work deep in the recesses of your soul.
