Understanding the ministry of the prophetic scribe is a "game-changer" for the apostolic-prophetic community. It opens us a well of comprehension and resources that acts like glue among the body, bringing some critical foundation into focus. As we embrace this season, I want to identify 10 areas that I believe the office of the scribe is being used to open up in the earth today. Prophetic ministry is powerful, and it is the season of the scribe to have IMPACT as eyes are opened to this fresh anointing.
I felt like an oddball. (And yes, I am speaking of what was going on emotionally in my heart. It was real. I had not crossed into the spiritual reality, security or maturity of it at the time.) When the prophets in training were called before the congregation to serve in the presbytery, I always wanted to carry my notebook and a pen with me. I remember the minister telling me (more than once) that I could not do that. He said it was a distraction for this type of ministry.
The poem of the judge (scribe, officer) and prophet Deborah and the warrior Barak highlighted Israel's victory over the Canaanites during one of the most tumultuous times in ancient biblical history. In the poem they sang (Judges 5), they listed the warriors responsible for Israel's victory. Among them were a devout, royal group who carried the "commander's staff" or the "marshal's staff."
The Lord identified eleven, ancient apostolic scribal functions to me through a dream several weeks ago that are still thriving in the earth today. These functions have been with us since before the first government of the congregation was established in Numbers 11. We can see them clearly as we study certain scribal patterns throughout the Bible and bring them into a modern day focus. In sharing these, I pray that you are empowered in comprehending the depth of the Office of the Scribe in the earth, and perhaps your role in it.
I saw groups of prophetic graphic designers and artists gathering to form "prophetic teams" to stir up prophecy within their gifts and calling. From that vision, this Word of Prophecy came to me as it relates to The Scribal Anointing. This is the season that I am awakening the heart of the prophetic graphic designer. I am removing the lid, and supernaturally propelling and accelerating the gift that is within them.
Prophetic writing indicates that God has placed a burden upon a person to write something. It does not mean the person is a GOOD writer. Training is often still required to perfect the skill. Writing "prophetically" does not mean leave your writing as it is. This is a HUGE misconception among prophetic people. Even "the prophetic" must be filtered through one's mind, perceptions, presuppositions, etc. EVERYTHING must be tempered in love, and sometimes that means "writing" without attitude but fully keeping the message clear.
