All around us, the hearts of men and women are failing. Many are spiritually asleep from sorrow over a world in turmoil. It's so easy to listen to the voices of this world when we need to be hearing the voice of the Father. In 2012, when I was serving on the National Executive Committee of America for Jesus, I met a businessman from Philadelphia whose son was part of a yacht crew and competed in regattas. During one competition, several university scouts had come to watch his son. "There were thousands of people there, and I was screaming for him, 'You've got this, son!'" my friend explained.
There is much about the night seasons that is perfect for seeking God. At nighttime everyone is asleep - except you! You stay up and seek the face of God uninterrupted. This makes for an exceptional time with the Lord as there are less distractions from kids, family, texts, and phone calls. There is something about having quality time with the Lord that makes a huge notable difference in our lives.
"Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, 'Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.' And they launched out. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, 'Master, Master, we are perishing.' Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, 'Where is your faith?' And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, 'Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!'" (Luke 8:22-25)
I had a vision that seemed like a dream, and in it I saw troubled turbulent times, and people had gone into their secret places to pray. (I say it seemed like a dream because I was so still, it was like I was asleep, even though I was awake. Sometimes we have to be really still to receive.) People felt overwhelmed with current events and had gone to their quiet places to pray. The warfare "outside" was tough. It was hard and seemed to be too much for many of them, but they went to the Lord.
When most people think of a Biblical "shield of faith," they picture the shield from Roman times which is what the Apostle Paul would have been thinking of when he admonished the church at Ephesus to put on the whole armor of God. The shield, sword, and helmet of Ephesians 6:10-18 are indicating a march into battle. When using this image of me holding the shield in front of me, I ran into a problem at night when I was asleep. How can I hold a shield of faith for protection when I am asleep???
We are able to access the eternal spiritual realm through the Holy Spirit who connects us to Jesus. He is the Living Word of God. Jesus Christ is the only God-given door that we enter into through prayer, meditation, praise and worship, dreams and vision. Jesus, the Anointed One, is the only God who has been raised from the dead. Jesus was raised from the slumber of death, becoming the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep or died. We know that death entered the world through the physical body of Adam when he sinned, so it took the spiritual body of the perfect man Jesus to make the resurrection of the dead a reality for us.

What is the purpose of a dream? How does God use dreams in our lives? What dreams should we pay attention to and what dreams should we ignore? How much influence should they possess in our lives? Is it safe to ignore them and how safe is it to act on them? The premise of this article is to explain the depths to which the Lord uses dreams to affect our lives. He uses dreams to wake us up, to give us prophetic insight, and to spur us forward toward our dreams and destiny so that we don't lose sight of them. In a society where success often looks like busyness and hurried insanity, God sometimes talks to us the only way he can…when we are asleep.
At the beginning of 2017, I began to share prophetically how 2017 was going to be a year for "BRIDGES." This will be a year where Heaven and Heaven's Ambassadors are going to build bridges into the culture of our communities. These inroads will bring the application of kingdom principles within the earthly systems and thus bring Heaven to Earth. Then on January 8th I was nearly asleep when suddenly I had a vision in which I saw the back of a pick-up truck parked in a parking lot. On the back of the tailgate in the lower left hand corner I saw the word "BRIDGEWORLD."
