God is the God of the breakthrough but he uses our hands – if you do your part he will do. (2 Chronicles 20:17) contains a powerful promise that has encouraged many believers over the years, "But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD's victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you!" There is no progress without resistance: There is a spiritual battle over your breakthrough. We can only win the battle in the spirit. Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to their circumstance. His name is Jesus.

Breakthrough definition: A moment in time when the impossible becomes possible. If anyone wants to thrive in any area of their life, they have to reach a point of breakthrough where they will not settle for anything less than extraordinary.
A few of the dictionary definitions of the word "breakthrough" are: "an offensive thrust that penetrates and carries beyond a defensive line in warfare" and "the act or instance of breaking through an obstacle."
A breakthrough is 'an act or point of breaking through an obstruction or defensive line; it is an important advance in knowledge or achievement.' Breakthrough itself is sudden, rapid and often 'unexpected.'
Breakthrough is God waiting on us to respond in obedience to what He has already commanded and already promised.
Breakthrough happens when we take the first offensive step against the barriers in our life. Breakthrough happens when we say, "I'm going to trust that God is going to supernaturally do the impossible."
Breakthrough Illustrations
A Breakthrough of Water: The main idea for breakthrough comes from the breakthrough of water from 2 Samuel 5:20: So David went to Baal Perazim (which means "possessor of the breaches" that carries the idea of "the Lord who possesses the breach, or point of breakthrough") and David defeated them there; and he said, "The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water." The breakthrough of water is like a crack in a dam that continues to grow wider and wider.
A Troop and a Wall: The next illustration of breakthrough is from 2 Samuel 22:30: "For by you I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall."
Breaking through City Gates: Another picture of breakthrough is when a walled city is under siege and the opposing army is breaking the gates down with a battering ram. A battering ram is thrust forward time after time until ultimately the gates burst open. The importunity of intercession can be likened to constant and continual calling out to God until the point when the answer comes. In days gone by, this was known as "praying through."
These are Some Strategic Keys to Breakthrough in Your Life Now!
Persistent Prayer: Grace works in persistent prayer! Spiritual breakthroughs come to those who persevere before the throne of grace in faith! Have you tried breakthrough prayer as a collective body? Before Breakthrough takes place we need Supernatural Perspective! When the supernatural wisdom of God begins to flow from the dimension of heaven to your spirit – the Holy Spirit gives your mind the revelation of the truth. Spiritual maturity is developed as we learn how to persevere and persist, anchored on God's Word even when our natural circumstances show absolutely no signs of improvement. You become the greatest catalyst of breakthrough when you learn how to hear what God is saying and pray these eternal realities over the present conditions.
Worship is another key:1 Samuel 1:19-20 And they rose up in the morning early, and WORSHIPPED before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.
Decree:"You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways." (Job 22:28, NASB) Are you in need of a breakthrough? A prophetic decree is an authoritative 'now' word that unlocks the supernatural and causes a shift to take place. When we decree something, we are making a declaration that has the weight of Kingdom authority behind it.
Obedience: Jericho and the walls coming down required obedience. It is the Key: God gave directions to Joshua, They were not suggestions, They were his commandments, their victory was totally reliant upon their obedience.
Shout! Praise is faith expressing itself audibly. Faith has a voice, Faith calls those things which be not as though they were, and those things that be as though they were not. Faith hears God say it's done, sees God make it done and shouts because it believes it's done. paul and Silas' prayer and praise caused tremors in the realms of darkness. Suddenly, a violent earthquake shook the building, and the doors were opened.
Change Your Perspective. This requires seeing the invisible and faith, which is about "things we do not see." There are many ways of seeing or looking at something and what matters is how God sees things. Sometimes we need to "change our approach to the battle."
Thanksgiving: Thanksgiving builds our faith, and that faith sustains us while we continue to believe for the complete miracle—for ourselves and for others. Focusing on what God is doing causes us to be thankful.
Hearing God: The Voice Of God is the Master Key To your Supernatural Breakthrough. Hear it and speak it. Agree with the decree.
If you TRULY want to create a breakthrough in your life, take consistent and persistent steps daily to your dreams or goals!
My prayer for you is that you would receive a "holy hunger" for intimacy with God. I believe God is going to pour out this gift according to your measure of hunger, according to your desperation. Holy hunger goes hand-in-hand with God's desire to help you stir up and awaken your passion for Him. God deserves our love more than anything in this world. He is worthy. Listen, at his very moment, Jesus Christ is preparing a place for use in our Father's house. We're going to be with Him forever (John 14:2,3). Therefore, it's time to make ourselves ready, even as a bride would get ready for her wedding day and her husband-to-be.
What are you going to do when all the wells are stopped up? What are you going to do when all the wells run dry? If you're a well, if you're a source, you don't have to worry about it. You've got to be able to be deep enough that when the wells dry up, when there's no dew, when there's no rain, when there's no fountain, when there's famine in the land, when there's drought—you've got to learn how to be close enough to God. For those that are close enough to Him even in the time of famine, He's got a brook. In the midst of the famine, if you're close enough to God and you know how to be deep with God, He'll bring you to your own brook and He'll feed you.
You can either be a well for God or you can drink from the fountain. God is saying, "I want to make you a well." God has many different kinds of wells, and He wants you to be a well. I had a vision of a prophetic word that was given to me just a couple of weeks ago when I was in Mission. I was so filled with the wine of the Holy Spirit, and I was talking about dignity. I said, "Would you lose your dignity for the presence of God?" Then right in the middle of my message, I made this statement, "I don't just want to put my face in the well of God. I don't just want to drink from the well of God. In fact, I am getting so hungry and desperate for Jesus, I want to fall in the well. Then when I fall in the well, I want to swim down to the bottom of the well, and that's where I want to live. I want to be like Gideon in the winepress. I want to be at the bottom of the winepress."
