Be God Positive by Tiffany Watkins

By Tiffany Watkins
During this time in the world, we have to make it our mission to remain positive in the world of uncertainty. What is it that we can say to see change happen right now? I want to encourage you to be "God Positive!" When we know there is victory in God's word, we will be positive and speak what He says. We have to remember to speak what God says and follow His direction.

Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." So, according to the scriptures, basically, whatever we speak we will begin to experience.  Our spoken words will become a reality in our physical and spiritual lives. When we speak negative things, death takes place, but when we speak positive words and words of truth, then life takes place.

While completing my dissertation for my Doctorate degree, I researched and surveyed 144 participants across all 9 regions of the United States regarding prayer, meditation, and confession. When I asked the participants had they ever spoken something good and it came to pass, 70% said yes.  When I asked if they had ever spoken negative and it came to pass 56% said yes.  So, we can see positive proof that the words we speak actually affect the environment we live in.

With all the negative news that is infiltrating our world, we must watch what we allow through our eye-gates and our ear-gates. We have to make sure we are not pulling to us, the thing we do not desire through the words we speak.  Do we desire for our speech to be used to edify, enlighten, and uplift or do we desire for our speech to dismantle, annihilate, and destroy the world around us? We must continue to monitor our spoken words and make sure God's word becomes a daily habit of confession.

I have been practicing this for a while, and when negative thoughts come to my mind, I quickly stop and try to speak God's promises in His word or give God thanks for what I do have.  This way I am not releasing into the atmosphere words that would debilitate my faith in God's ability.  I encourage you to do the same and watch God's peace rest upon you in a greater dimension during this time.
