And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32 KJV) What is "truth," and how do we get there?" It may seem like such a simple question at first glance, but if you've ever stopped to wonder, you've found that the answer may not always be so simple. I'm so thrilled to announce the release of my brand new book Beliefs: Make You or Break You, as well as the accompanying workbook. The complete bundle package is available now worldwide. It's truly a book unlike any other. As I'm sure you're well aware, beliefs are powerful. Jesus taught that we will be given exactly what we believe. He said that if we have faith and do not doubt, literally nothing shall be impossible for us!

What is "truth," and how do we get there?" It may seem like such a simple question at first glance, but if you've ever stopped to wonder, you've found that the answer may not always be so simple. But what, exactly, do you believe, and why do you believe it? Where do those beliefs really come from? If beliefs are really as powerful and as heavenly as Jesus said, don't you think it's time to really get to the bottom of why you believe what you believe?
In Beliefs: Make You or Break You, I delve deeply into the ever-elusive concept of "truth." What is it? We know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life; however, we always seem to stop there and never dig any deeper into the matter. When asked what "truth" is, we always seem to have the stereotypical, religious cliché as a response. "I know the truth!" But what does that even mean?
When Jesus spoke to those early believers of the Holy Spirit that would soon come, he gave a very specific promise where the workings of the Holy Spirit are concerned. He gave the promise that they would be led into all truth. It sounds shocking, doesn't it? All truth? Could it be true?
What if We Missed the Truth?
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (John 16:7-15 KJV)
Was Jesus actually saying to the early believers that a time would come when they would actually know it all? Was he saying that a time would come when all of their questions would be answered? Or was he speaking of something even more powerful and even more heavenly, altogether? My friend, what if we've missed the point somewhere along the way? What if, somewhere along the way, we confused "truth" for "answers?" What if while we're so busy always trying to find answers, we actually have missed the greater "truth" that the journey of faith is actually a journey of constant growth, constant change, and constant expansion? What if somewhere along the way we missed the fact that the journey toward "truth" is exactly that - a journey?
So often, we seem to think that truth is magically, supernaturally imparted to us from the heavens or through the laying on of hands. We seem to believe that once we begin a relationship with Jesus, miraculously, we suddenly have all truth. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you need to be reminded that contrary to what religion has told you, you haven't seen it all, you don't know it all, and you haven't learned it all. There's always more to see, more to experience, and more to discover, especially where life in the Kingdom of God is concerned. If the scenery never really changes, it isn't a sign of faithfulness; it's a sign that you aren't moving and aren't really going anywhere. Contrary to popular belief, beliefs, in fact, do change as we grow! And that's a beautiful thing!
Right now, even in this moment, your life is the product of the beliefs you hold to. All of those beliefs, in fact, are giving you very real "signs" each and every day, as you go through life on Planet Earth. In Beliefs: Make You or Break You, I share a powerful revelation concerning the importance of recognizing the beliefs we hold to and also the importance of letting go of old, limiting beliefs of the past.
Right now, chances are there are limiting beliefs you've held to for a long, long time - beliefs that are no longer serving you. Are you holding to beliefs you've outgrown? The journey of faith is a journey. And with every journey, there are always beautiful changes of scenery. Rather than holding to limiting beliefs no matter what and calling it "faith," why not begin to see that faith is a journey of discovery? There's a reason Jesus said, "Ask, seek, and knock." Not only is it alright to analyze and question beliefs, but it's alright to change the beliefs that no longer work. Beliefs: Make You or Break You is available now worldwide. As always, my hope and prayer for you is that you would experience even more of the glory of God!
The phrase "turn your swords into plowshares" is indeed a well-known quote from the Bible, specifically from the book of Isaiah 2:4. The verse reads, "And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore." The phrase is often used as a metaphor for the idea of transforming destructive tools of war into productive tools for agriculture, and by extension, promoting peace and prosperity. It is a call for people to lay down their weapons and seek peaceful solutions to conflicts, rather than resorting to violence.
