The Privileged Prophets by Pam Clark

By Pam Clark
I have been around a lot of prophets, in small towns and big cities, in large ministries and in small. I got my calling in 1976, but the first few years after that were a lot of study. After that, it is "continuing education" in its many forms! There are two strong focuses for a true prophet and that is your personal ministry with and to God and your ministering ministry to people who need His insights. We have not been "chosen" for "celebrity" status, although many treat it that way. (They will learn!) It is a servant ministry to the Spirit and to people. Sometimes your hard knocks are how you will learn!

A prophetic life and work are a constant ministry.  God will tell His secrets to His servants the prophets.  That means that prophets minister to Him.  Not only are they intercessors, but often become His friend.  Friends share.

God's overall plans don't change because of the "advice" of people but intercessions are heard, and grace and mercies can happen through them.  It's like God shares His plans and the prophets can respond to Him with how others will take it.  It's intercession.  His will is first and best!

When a woman marries a man, she does not get to decide his whole life for him.  She is considered but she is not now running the whole show.  We call that a "Jezebel spirit" because the give and take and honor is not there but missing, and the manipulations are discerned.  Even men can get a Jezebel spirit.

Couples in God's plans were meant to make people stronger as a whole and propagate through the family for a greater cause and strength and picture of things to the world.  But His Word says that He also honors singles, and when Jesus was off the road of ministry, He hung out with the singles (Mary, Martha, and Lazarus) before going out again.  He liked them!   He also could spend His alone time with the Father.  No one is "lesser."   And you know that He also honored the children.

Closeness to GOD is in time and attention through prayer, especially after DOING ministry!  But rest and relaxation matter too!  He can speak there too!   There is a balance of work and rest, as we see from even the beginning of Creation!  On the seventh day God rested and observed.

The prophets (as well as others) long to see what is coming.  That is a desire for vision.  "When we see Him, we will be like Him."  That doesn't make us "God" but a reflection of Who His Is and when we miss it, He will correct us!

Prophets, over time, will get words, dreams, visions, and impartations of wisdom and understanding through the time and prayer spent with Him.  They learn HOW to present them.    It's a pleasure, but also work, just like family is.  The more they seek, like anyone else, the more they can find, but they have to "process” the experiences.

Anyone can spend a lot of time on something, but it's the impartations that become significant and meaningful.  It is not them in charge, but His Spirit, and they learn not to be Him but like Him, deferring to Him.

Knowing and Serving Him

Their ministry, if done right, becomes His ministry because they work to know and SERVE Him and His Cause!

There is a snare out there that I call the "celebrity spirit," where people learn to "be ahead of people" and be "in the know" on what the future is.  It's a natural curiosity but can become a master or controlling spirit.  We all think we want to be in charge until we can't handle it!  Then we are screaming like everyone else is!

People can give to you and God can make you needy.  We see this with celebrities all the time; they go up and down.  It can become a real roller coaster.  In GOD, we have the great hope of going UP with Him, meaning that we are overcoming the world because He did.

Sometimes we look to people like they are God, but we will all get corrected of that.  God doesn't mind helpers, but He is the Father. We can come up with our ideas, but He is the Last Word on things.  And He does not like truly abused children!  It offends Him, no matter how old they are!

But His Program matters to Him most of all because it is a Plan for not only Global World Unity, but it spans throughout all time!  So, we each only have a part!  If people are not blessed and helped, WE DID NOT DO OUT PARTS WELL!  If people do not find their place in Him by His direction, we may have missed what we were called to do.  And we will be judged by that.

It's not about "the minister", it's about HIS WORK being accomplished, or not!  And He is good to all, but we are a lost world until we get found IN HIM again.

Prophet or not, some ministers want to manage you.  They may or may not mean well.  God will judge that.  But some are arrogant like they are better and wiser than others.  God can use a little child to break that down.

I didn’t know about my calling as a child, but I was aware of some of His interactions with me as a child.  It was a force that I didn't fully understand, but I knew it was there.  If you have a deliverance ministry, and thank God some do, you will have experienced that side too, in both ways, Him and the evil one.  Don't play your role down. You matter!

If we do not respect other ministries, and especially how they work together, we will not see the full ministry of God.

We may bless or harm something and not even know it!  But God knows His Spirit can triumph over it, things just may be more difficult for the person.  Is that what we want?  I hope not!

Some might feel and act “privileged" because they have a role in things.  That often happens because they were neglected or felt passed over when younger.  But we have to understand that God is FAIR and He will hold His Line or Standard.  WE have to learn it and we can!

Understanding the Larger

If you can only comprehend the "small things," that is the category you will be in.  If you understand the larger, you can be used more!  But it requires a servant mentality.  Jesus worked to explain that to His disciples that He worked with on a daily basis.  They gave it all for Him, except Judas who lost everything when he tried to sell Him out for almost nothing.

No one category of ministry is useless. ALL the ministering gifts are purposed and NEEDED.  We need to work to see how they work together! Evangelists have a "personality" and so do pastors.  Teachers who are concerned over the little things do, because they know they can make a big difference!  Prophets are concerned over vision for the future in our souls, and apostles want to move forward as well as stabilize things.

When we take any of the giftings out of context, we can stumble, and some stumbles are big!  God will let us taste some of the other ministry works, but if He called you to bake cakes, honey, you better do it!  A LOT of God's work could hinge on that!

If He called you to be a mechanic of some sort, HE KNOWS it could make the difference for Life at large and what you do.  If you have a visitation ministry or care giving, or helpful support, can make a big difference for MANY people!!!   When you just "become" and are "being", the Spirit can do His best work!

Someone down the road from me on a main highway here started a church but could not finish it.  Another company bought the land and now it is a general store.  I am sure the price of that land in particular was not cheap, but should that have been a church?  God knows, but can you discern the difference?  We need the stores AND the churches!

God WILL train you, even through your mistakes!  Not everyone is really seeking Him.  Some are young and are trying to think big (and that is better than not trying at all!)  and some are just plain selfish.  God can handle it, but people will notice.  HELP them!

We don't stay focused on weakness, but His Strength!  Our good will matters!  It really makes a big difference!  Prophetic is not just pointing out things but edifying the Body.  Some get more worried about "the things" and meanings but miss His will and Spirit!

Have you ever seen the background of a picture being painted?  It can seem dull and not eventful until the other parts are drawn in and then you get the message of it!  God can do that with our lives!  He is the Father of spirits!

Seeing His Hand at Work

A small-time church is better than a large business of sin.  A minister not at work can be worse than a kind bartender.  It's when the Light of God comes on that we SEE His Hand at work!

If you are "too good" to be around certain people, then your concept of grace is small.  If you discern what you can and cannot handle, you may be being wise!  But if you don't do your ministry, whatever it is, you may be hurting the Kingdom of God.

We all get offenses, but if we aren't on God's Team but running our own, we can miss HIM big time.  We will be disappointed in that outcome.

I may need some food and the warmth of fellowship to keep me going.  Do you know that the one who ministers that gets the same reward?  It's good to minister through what has been given to you, but the Kingdom of God keeps moving FORWARD.  If you are not moving FORWARD, you may be holding some things back!  Not good!  But God does this with "Teamwork” or Body of Christ (or the Anointing) work!

Rewards will be given more later than just today.  We can get some ideas of them, but God knows the details of your heart, and how He wants to bless you for ETERNITY!

Be KINGDOM minded.  A kingdom is like a city with many parts that are available for many people.  You can't do everything!  But you CAN do some, and it can be a blessing.

We are privileged when we get to know His LOVE, and He loves everyone He can.  Who so ever believes and comes to Him will find abundant life.  We just have to keep working at it.  Heaven is not here; it is in Heaven!

But we can taste some things here, and taste other things that let us know WHY we want the Full Deal of it.  You will find pleasure doing your part!  But be sure you DO it!  Then we all are happy with that, including God.
