Hebrews 11:6 says, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (NIV) This is a foundational scripture that our faith is based on and some of us can quote Hebrews 11:6 without looking it up. (Personally, I still have to look it up from time to time, but that's just me.)

Faith is something you have to work at; starting with the fact that you have to use faith to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You first must believe that you are a sinner. Secondly, you must believe that the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse you from your sins and set you free. (Read Psalms 51:1, 2) Receiving salvation requires faith!

Faith is not what we use to acquire things, but faith is the foundation for everything as we walk the walk of a believer - it is an ongoing fight of Faith. It has been many years now since I first accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and in those years I have listened to some of the greatest faith teachers that have ever lived. I have had the thrill of sitting face to face, listening to their experiences in faith, and hearing the passion in their voices as they would relate how Jesus stood with them in their fiery furnace experiences. I would always come away feeling like I could conquer anything, and go looking for "ole slew foot" just daring him to shoot at my shield of faith.

Why is God Silent?

There have been many victories experienced in my lifetime, and I have personally experienced great manifestations of answers to my faith, far too many to relate in a short article, but I can assure you Faith in God - IS Power!  2 Corinthians 3:18 says, we go "from Glory to Glory." What I know today, I did not know or understand yesterday, and tomorrow will bring greater understanding and revelation of the word of God.

As a prophet and a life coach, I get many requests for answers to the problems people are facing. Without a doubt the number one request is, "why is God so silent and can you tell me where I am because I feel totally lost."  In almost every one of the request, these are the questions right up front. It is like all the road signs and markers of life have been erased, or the GPS in your car has run out of satellite information.  No one seems to know what to do next.  I admit that I have also experienced that feeling of heading out on a journey without a clue where I'm going, or how to get there, but I have a pressing sense to keep on moving forward.

In recent times of meditation (you have to get quiet to meditate) the Father would remind me of Isaiah 43 verses 18, 19 (NIV) "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it."  He also reminded me of Hebrews 10:35 (KJV), "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward."

Now Father does everything with purpose, so I knew he was bringing something to my attention, so I paid attention, and as He often does He prompted me to write this article. With all the studying on Faith I have done in the past nothing has prepared me for the training I am receiving right now; and it is coming as a first hand revelation.  That means I am walking out every step.  You see, my friends, faith is a solitary walk.  No one can do it for you.  They can encourage, uplift, and remind you of the scriptures that your faith is based on but when it comes right down to it, it's you and you alone who walks it out.  I had never thought of faith in those terms before, but in the midnight hour of sickness, financial ruin, marital collapse, runaway children or whatever you are standing in faith for; you have to do it alone.

Your Relationship with Your Father

Faith is a sacred relationship between you and your heavenly Father. My husband, Keith and I just celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary, (we were just kids when we got married.  I'm just saying.)  We are as close as any two human beings can be.  We literally know what the other one is thinking.  My husband thinks a thought - and I say it. He says it saves energy doing it that way. LOL!  We have a lot of fun, but in the midnight hour when it is SO dark and quiet, the only thing I can lean on - is the faith I have in my Heavenly Father.

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1 KJV) We stand in faith not only in the hard times, but also when we are believing in the totally impossible as with Zechariah and Elizabeth. (Luke 1:24-25)  They were both advanced in years and Elizabeth was barren.  Through the spoken promise of God Elizabeth was able to conceive. Even though she was barren and old, she chose to believe God's promise of a child in spite of it being physically IMPOSSIBLE.  After conceiving, Elizabeth spent the first five months in seclusion, totally separate from everyone else. Verse 25 says, "Thus the Lord has done for me in the days when he looked on me, to take away my reproach among people." Those five months she spent in praise of her heavenly Father. We know that after five months there should be physical evidence for others to see, but when no physical signs were seen, she believed the impossible was taking place.

My friends while we are waiting for the promises of God to manifest in our lives, we wait shut in with our heavenly Father knowing at the appointed time we will give birth to our promises.  Waiting is HARD, there is nothing easy about it.  However, it is an awesome time to draw closer to our Father.  It is that time of intimacy in the spirit that brings us into a much greater knowing of who our Father is.  He is not "Daddy Warbucks" from the story "Annie," but he is The King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, and he is my Poppa God.

You are not Alone!

My friends, this season of time we are now in is not the past rehashed; but it is what has never been before!  Father is truly doing a new thing. (Isaiah 43:18)  This is a time of Blessed Aloneness with our Heavenly Father.  I want you to read Psalms 31 (NIV) and when you are finished, I think you will be able to relate to what the Psalmist said, "In you and you alone do I trust."  Nothing can penetrate or destroy the Faith based relationship between the Father and His child. You can rest confidently, no matter how dark, how still, or long the night may be. JOY WILL COME IN THE MORNING! (Psalms 30:5)

Though you may feel totally alone - you are not!  There is a great cloud of witnesses cheering you on as you stand in Faith believing. (Hebrews 12:1)

REJOICE! For your promises from God WILL SURELY COME TO PASS!
