Fifteen Years after 9-11 and the Kingdom Age is Moving Forward by Lanny Swaim

By Lanny Swaim
This year marks fifteen years since the terror attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. In Scripture, the number fifteen represents rest, which is made possible by deliverance, which is what the number fourteen represents. The Feast of Unleavened Bread occurs on the 15th day of Nisan in the first month on the Hebrew calendar. It was to be observed as a day of rest. The 15th day of the 7th month on the Hebrew calendar begins the Feast of Tabernacles, also a day of rest. God appeared to Abraham on the 15th day of Nisan and told him that his descendants would be slaves in a foreign land (Egypt). Years later, God delivered all the firstborn of the Israelites from the death angel just as Passover began after sunset on the 14th day of Nisan. Twenty-four hours later on the 15th of Nisan, the Israelites began to come out of Egypt (see Exodus 12:40-41).

And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall. Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound (Isaiah 30:25-26).

Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? Where is the receiver? Where is he that counted the towers? (Isaiah 33:18).

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old (Amos 9:11).

God appeared to Abraham on the 15th day of Nisan and told him that his descendants would be slaves in a foreign land (Egypt). Twenty-four hours later on the 15th of Nisan, the Israelites began to come out of Egypt (see Exodus 12:40-41). The prophecy God had given to Abraham on the 15th of Nisan was fulfilled years later on the same day of the year.

After Jesus' crucifixion, His body was laid in the tomb just as the sun was setting on the 15th of Nisan, fulfilling the prophetic significance of Passover.

Prophetic Significance of 9-11

I believe the fact that September 11th, 2016 is the 15th anniversary of 9-11 has great significance concerning where we are on the timeline of history.

Many of the Old Testament prophecies have more than one application. There is an application for Israel and an application for the Church. They also apply to different times on the timeline of history.

I believe the above Scriptures have an application for the time in which we live, not only for the Church, but also for the world.

In Isaiah 30:25-26 the Amplified Bible identifies the day of the great slaughter as the day of the Lord. Interestingly, verse 26 speaks of seven days. The apostle Peter told us that a day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day (see 2 Peter 3:8). He was giving us a key to understanding prophetic history.

There is a parallel between the seven days of creation as recorded in Genesis and the seven thousand years the Bible is very specific about. Since Adam, mankind has experienced six thousand years (six days) of history on planet Earth. We are now entering the seventh day (millennium).

The seventh day, which is the Sabbath (the day of rest), is the day of the Lord. Near the beginning of this day, a great slaughter took place in New York City, plus those who died on Flight 93 and at the Pentagon. Hence, the day of great slaughter is synonymous with the day of the Lord.

As everyone knows, the first two airliners crashed into the twin towers in New York City, literally causing them to fall. And while the death toll was nowhere near what it could have been, many died that day. This happened at a time when America and much of the Western World was significantly prospering. I believe this prosperity is what rivers and streams of waters on every high mountain and hill is referring to. As you know, the economy of the Western World took a hard hit that day, and is yet to recover.

I believe the light of the moon and sun being greatly magnified as the light of seven days has to do with how God is dealing with His people in this new day (millennium). All that has been accomplished and all the seeds sown by Old and New Testament saints for six thousand years are about to snowball into the greatest revelation of Jesus Christ mankind has ever witnessed!

The Amplified Bible says that the light of seven days in verse 26 will be concentrated in one [day]. This is the snowball effect.

Testing of the Church

So, while September 11, 2001 was a day of great terror and tragedy for the United States and the world, it was a line of demarcation on the timeline of history concerning God's dealings with His people.

It began a time of great testing for the United States and the world, but more specifically for the true church; the body of Christ. Beginning on 9-11, I personally went through four years of the most severe and intense testing and trials I have ever experienced. And I know numerous others who have experienced the same. In the last fifteen years, some have literally lost everything and had to completely start over.

But like Joseph and so many others in the Bible, this time of tests and trials has not been without a purpose. There is a remnant of the body of Christ today that is beginning to experience the fulfillment of verse 26; the binding up of the breach of God's people as their wounds are being healed. This is what Amos 9:11 speaks of. (Note the verse and chapter of this Scripture in Amos. While there were no verses or chapters in the original texts, I don't think this is coincidence.)

Unlike the temple in Jerusalem that Solomon later built, the tabernacle of David in Amos 9:11 had no veil hiding the Ark of the Covenant. Anyone walking into the tabernacle had direct access to the ark, where the presence of God dwelled in Old Testament times.

During the first two days (millennia) of the Church, direct access to God has been denied to the people of God because of the clergy/laity system that became the foundation of the Church in the fourth century.

It has only been near the end of the second day (millennium) of the Church that a few believers have begun to realize who they are and that they need no one to go to God on their behalf. We can all go directly to God as kings and priests unto our God (see Revelation 1:6). However, this doesn't mean that we can disconnect from the body of Christ.

As a result of the intense and severe tests and trials a remnant of believers have been subjected to since 9-11, we are finding not only direct access to God, but that we can come boldly before the throne of grace (see Hebrews 4:16), exercising greater authority and power than we were able to experience during the first two days (millennia) of the Church.

This truth is confirmed by Hosea 6:1-2:

Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days [millennia] will he revive us: in the third day [millennium] he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Isaiah 33:18, which I used at the beginning of this article, asks three questions which I believe have an obvious answer. Today God is ordaining prophetic scribes to receive revealed knowledge concerning world events and their meaning for His people.

Those He has chosen for this task at hand, have not only counted the towers, we have counted their significance, which has to do with a very important line of demarcation on the timeline of history. As we enter this new day (millennium) much is changing. The world we live in today is a much different world than the world prior to 9-11.

Changes….

But the world is not the only thing changing. God is changing how He deals with His people, and as a result the Church is changing. I believe this line of demarcation we have crossed is about the transition from the Church Age into the Kingdom Age; and the Church of the Kingdom Age is going to look much different than the Church of the Church Age.

Many are still trying to build in the old pattern of the Church Age to little if any avail. We must be willing to move on from that which has been familiar to us into seemingly uncharted territory. I say seemingly because God knows where we are going. This journey we are on has been His plan since before the foundation of the world and if we will but trust and obey Him, finding that place of rest in Him (see Hebrews 4:9), He will continue to lead us into all truth, until ultimately the kingdoms (nations) of this world become the kingdom of our Lord and His Christ (see Revelation 11:15).

Surely we were born for such a time as this!

fifteen days after 9/11 article

Great article. About ten years ago the Lord spoke to me saying Get ready against the third day... It was also prophesied to me a couple of years prior to that. Am totally aware I am HERE on this earth for a time such as this. I will visit your website because I perceive you have good and important things to say. YEs, there are many changes, but also the Lord wants us not to remove the ancient borders. A time of great calamity and a time of great blessings and for those who go on to know the Lord a time of great revelation. I fear not and am excited about what is to come.
