Arise, Spiritual Ballerinas! by Rachel L. Hunter

By Rachel L. Hunter
An elderly gentleman went forward during a tent meeting with a lisp that he had suffered with since childhood.

He asked the minister, "Can God heal me?" The answer came quickly: "Only if He wants to, my friend."

Way too often we, as Christians, fall in the trap of only going where we believe God has given us permission to go and doing what God has given us permission to do – almost like ballerinas who are stuck on the ground.

Did You Know?

Ballet originated in Renaissance Italy as a combination social dance and choreographed display at social gatherings. In many aspects, it was a way of controlling people in court with acceptable forms of behavior. It also involved rules governing everything from attire to where one could walk or sit in relation to the king. Many of these gestures can still be seen in the study of ballet.

Ballet in God's Kingdom

God wants us to be free from this world's order so that we can move beyond what is possible in the natural, and to ascend in the supernatural. He cleared the pathway so we have access to Heaven and all of its resources so that we can make a difference living from Heaven while on Earth.

We need to do a "balloon" during a grand jeté in the spiritual realm!

We have been given a great responsibility to be the intercessors between God and His Creation, so it can no longer be controlled by the principalities and powers of darkness.

It's a "dance" of restoration.

Dance of Restoration

We begin by praising God for how He is about to restore a situation – to turn it around for good – when all we have seen is the enemy trying to bring destruction by puncturing holes so that all of a person's precious substance leaks out.

Then we give the situation over to God, lifting it up, and thus removing it from our inner man so that it can receive an intensified portion of God's grace.

This puts the situation in a position where God can do a creative work, so it can be fully restored – not just mended, but made like new again. (The best part? God has contorted the enemy's sight is contorted so that he cannot see when we enter the realm of creativity – so that people can be restored without being attacked by the enemy.)

We can then leave people and their situations in God's hands. There's no need to try to somehow convince God that people need help. He knows it, and wants to give it to them. If we feel ourselves getting drawn back to the earthly realm, it is not God saying, "No. I won't do it."  It is God commissioning us to bring Him more of His creation that desperately needs a restorative touch.

It's a cycle that should happen over and over and over again. God wants us to find those who need to be made whole again, praise Him for what He is about to do, give the situation over to Him, and let Him extend His intense and powerful grace over each and every hole-ridden situation.

Now is the time for the Church to become an integral part of God's restorative work on the Earth! Arise, spiritual ballerinas!
