Windows of Perfect Timing and Divine Opportunity are Opening for God's People by Andy Sanders

By Andy Sanders
The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the Lord at their head (Micah 2:13 NIV). In a prayer meeting a few weeks back, someone mentioned the topic of a window in the context of a recent dream. From the time this person said "window" until now, throughout the days I have been seeing visions of windows opening up from just about all angles. The theme "Windows of Opportunity" just keeps resonating. Some reading this have experienced endless closed doors, roadblocks, and blocked paths over these past few years. This has left you wondering why so many obstacles have come against you.

This written word is a declaration—what cannot be opened one way in your life (a door) will be opened another way (a window) through God's perfect timing and divine intervention. We are finally going to be able to advance in areas that are dear to our hearts. What God will do through you in 2017 and 2018 will come through many different unexpected windows of opportunity. Doors may have been shut that weren't meant to be, but God is chiseling out a window to get you back where you were originally heading.

Have You Ever Wondered Why God Uses Windows Instead of Doors?

I have thought about this question often lately. He's God, and so why doesn't He just bust the door open for us and allow us to walk through the door? There are many answers to this question; however, I want to target one. God is working around those who have been previously or currently placed in authority by the enemy to hinder God's plan. In writing this, I get a sense that most of our struggles have to do with previous authorities in key places over us attempting to halt what God wants in our lives. Know that, in this precise moment, God is opening many windows of opportunity, reversing the effect of the blocked paths of the past. In some cases, these key authorities are refusing to listen to both you and God. Therefore, God isn't removing the person, obligation, or structure that is in front of you; He is creating a window of opportunity to get around the roadblock/barrier. His goal in working around these people and situations now is to later humble those who attempted to stop you. God has you and your adversary in His sight, and He will work out divinely timed situations to move you forward and change the hearts of those who opposed you. This, my friends, is God being impeccable, which means faultless, flawless, and without error. We will look back at this current year and be flabbergasted at all that God reclaimed and created out of it.

As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy (James 5:11 NIV).

God Will Use the Smaller Window to Direct Us to the Divine Path.

Windows are smaller versions of entryways that often do not stay open too long. When a window opens in our lives, it isn't like a door or a gate (an opening to a larger realm); rather, it is an "escape way or opening" into the path that later leads to the trail connected to the doorway that was originally blocked off. Getting through the window is something that normally happens quickly. In this season, windows of opportunity for believers will be quick, sudden, and unexpected; but looking back the opening will be well-planned and perfectly timed by our Father. As I like to say when I speak, "Windows don't stay open forever, so when you see the hand of God open a window for your life, you have to move. Go! Before, it closes for good." This is the same now. Things will move quickly because God is redeeming time lost this year. I see windows opening and closing in all realms—from family to jobs to government, ministry, business, education, all throughout the US (this does not exclude those in other countries). This is a special season of divine opportunity; yes, doors will open, but windows are going to open in magnitude. The window of opportunity will be just as powerful and important as when a door opens in someone's life. Divine moments will pop open right before our eyes.

Getting Through a Window Will Require Greater Attention.

Sometimes windows open because they are not as easy to get through as a door. We have all climbed in and out of windows. You have to watch the way you move through the opening or you can be hurt, hurt someone following you, or break the window as you go through. I think sometimes God opens a window just to see if we are willing to climb through an unfamiliar opening to travel through an unexpected territory in an unexpected way. I remember one time when I was a kid. I was climbing out of an old window and a small nail caught the inseam of my pants and one huge rip went from the inseam of my jeans all the way past my knee. It also gave me one rusty nail cut on the inside of my leg that burned like fire for several hours. Windows require greater attention, indeed.

Why do people go through windows? For starters, I think some people have to go through windows when the door that was supposed to be an entryway is absolutely no longer an option in life. For instance, if a fire were to break out in a building and people inside couldn't get out the side or front door, the other alternative is for them to get out the nearest window as quickly as possible.

One reason these windows will open and close quickly is because the opportunities are designed by God to be one way—you getting to where you are supposed to be. This means nothing evil will replace where you once were, nor will evil occupy the place you are heading next. Windows will open and shut fast!

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened (Matthew 7:8 NIV).

Windows are sudden, previously hidden, unexpected blessings that wouldn't have come to you in another way. It's like waiting for years to see the right door open, and then all of a sudden a divine window of opportunity opens right next to you. There will be lots of activities this year concerning windows. We must put a lot of extra prayer and attention into the window-ways of our lives. God is opening windows of opportunity where doors have not opened in the past. We have entered a divine time to ask, seek, and knock; answers will be found through unexpected windows of opportunity. ("Asking, seeking, and knocking" doesn't mean "beat and kick"; note the difference.)

Windows Will Open to Visit with Those You Love.

Last but not least, I get a strong sense that there are some shut doors of broken relationships between loved ones and really close friends, and it nearly seems impossible for God to work it out. If this is the case for you right now, God is opening a window for you to reconnect with those you love.

In my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God's will the way may be opened for me to come to you (Romans 1:10 NIV).
