t was the place where immortality was said to be found – and Jennifer Spies could not wait to get there. It was an Asian tea plantation that grew only one herb, jiaogulan ginseng, an adaptogenic that was reportedly able to extend lives and to fight off cancer and other fatal diseases. The plantation also had a retreat, and she availed herself to the courses taught by the master tea growers. Miss Spies was a fast learner, and she caught onto the art of growing the tea rather quickly.

It was the place where immortality was said to be found – and Jennifer Spies could not wait to get there.

One bright morning, the master instructor took her out to the tea fields.

"Do you want to know the secret of this herb?" he asked his eager pupil. "It's not a miracle substance. It's just an herb that realigns one's body in a way that glorifies God, the creator of the universe."

Her curiosity was piqued, and she listened intently to all that he told her. The lessons she learned changed her life forever, and knew that the popularity of this herb meant that the whole world needed to know it too.

Master Teacher

The master teacher explained to her that God created humans in His image, and that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. God's creation – be it human beings or plants – tell a story of God's Kingdom. With a peaceful smile on his face, he then told her the following fascinating tale about the jiaogulan herb.

There once was a lion who lost his roar. He was caught by a poacher who struck him daily with a whip, and was soon riddled with open wounds. He was helped by a wildlife veterinarian who had felt the burning desire to go to the deepest parts of Africa to bring healing to the lost and the hurt.

He brought the lion to safety and started the transformation process. He taught the lion that the power to distance himself from his enemy came from his mighty, mighty roar.

They practiced this – day in and day out. But something wasn't quite right. The lion kept cowering. The vet called out to God with an utter cry, asking: "How can boldness return to this lion?"

Never Doubt

The next day the vet knew what to do.

He took the lion in his arms, and whispered this truth in his ear: "Look danger straight in the eye. The Creator will give you quick understanding to know the weaknesses of those who try to harm you, so it can be avoided. Never doubt God's affection for you. He wants you to lack nothing, and will pour life abundant into you, his earthen vessel."

The lion walked out of the cave, accepting the vet's words, and subsequently being made whole, in both body and spirit. He knew how to stand his ground in every circumstance.

Miss Spies immediately understood the lesson. She got up from sitting at the foot of the master teacher, went home and started living forevermore from her newfound Kingdom perspective.
