WORD OF THE LORD: 2006

Dear Friends,

As most of you know, the Lord gave me "Words for the New Year" in September in my Shepherd's Rod. Those can be read at my newsletter site at http://JoniAmes.InJesus.com under the October 22, 2005 date.

The following is what I felt that the Lord shared with me this past week regarding 2006:

Auld Lang Syne
=============
While driving down the road, I began to hear the words to the popular New Year's Eve song, "Auld Lang Syne." What I heard was, "Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind." I felt that the Lord said that this New Year's time frame is a good time to permanently put behind us all of the negative people, things, events, habits, etc., that are not good for us, never to be brought back to mind and never to have any further acquaintance with them. I also sensed that there is a special grace He is giving to us to do so at this time.

SECOND ADDED TO ATOMIC CLOCK
==============================
Listening to the news, I heard that just before midnight on New Year's Eve, one-second will be added to the worldwide atomic clocks. Immediately my spirit leaped, as the Lord has been speaking to me that He is restoring time to us! (Joel 2:25)

One may not think that a second is very much time, but even one-tenth of a second is important enough to be the difference between winning and losing an Olympic medal!

I also heard, "Second chance" and felt that the Lord wants us to know that, in that second, much can and will be accomplished, if we let it. We can take that second as part of a moment of silent meditation to be that time when we throw the "old" things we have been acquainted with at His feet, never to be remembered again, and to make a fresh start in 2006.

Six is the "number of man." This can be good or bad. Our choice. We can either continue following the ways of man, or decide to follow the ways of God and thus have 2006 mark the end of following the ways of man.

SOW TO SPIRIT; REAP OF SPIRIT
===========================
The Lord has been speaking to me about the fact that, when we sow to the Spirit, we reap of the Spirit. (Gal. 6:8 & 9) Regarding that, I believe He showed me that, if we will take the time to allow ourselves to pray more in the Spirit over various difficult situations where we have not yet had breakthrough - including praying over stubborn, unsaved loved ones - that breakthrough will come, and we will have our "due season" of reaping the rewards of answered prayer!

Jude 1:20-21 tells us that as we pray in the Spirit, we build ourselves up in our faith, and it keeps us in the Love and Mercy of God. In Romans 8:26 & 27 it says that when we pray in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit prays past our weaknesses and lack of understanding, and searches out and prays in the will of God. Then because we do that, in verse 28 it says that He works all things together for our good!

Scripture references:

Galatians 6:8 & 9: (8) For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. (9) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Romans 8:26-28: (26) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (27) Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (28) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Jude 1:20: But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, (21) keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

DREAM RE: JAN. 16th
==================
In a recent dream, I dreamed that I'd had a dream that people were coming to my home asking me about. In particular, two friends, Mark DeVito and Bonnie Chavda came over. Mark Devito asked, "What's the Lord been speaking to you Joni?" Before I could answer, Bonnie Chavda then came into my house and looked past me to see if my dishes were clean, and they were. (I felt this meant that she wanted to be sure she was being "fed" a "clean" word.) She then also said, "What's the Lord been speaking to you Joni?"

I replied:

I had a dream, and in it, was told that it would seem like all of hell had broken loose by January 16th.

Next, I began to see various disastrous things. I don't know if that meant that they would occur by January 16th, or in addition to whatever else was involved in what was going to happen on that date.

Anyhow, I saw earthquakes. In particular, two of the locations were California and Tennessee.

I don't know the locations of them, but I then saw "strange storms" - even a hurricane-like snow storm, and a tornado-like fire storm, then other storms, fires and floods.

I also saw what I can only explain as an "atomic event." - It was either a nuclear accident or explosion(s). I wasn't sure of the location.

I saw New Orleans, and heard, "If you think what you already know about the New Orleans area and Hurricane Katrina is bad, you haven't heard or seen anything yet." I saw many dead bodies in big trucks.

I also saw pestilence and disease, and many homes ruined. Not sure if it was all from what has already happened in the New Orleans area, or spoke of additional other things to come.

I then saw a barn where many cots were being set up and I said to someone, "People who have places like this will need to be ready to house and feed many people in the time that is to come."

Then I said in the dream, "Ariel Sharon should not have given Israel's land away. Because of it, he's had a stroke and now a hole in his heart. Pray for him and for our own leaders for wisdom. The USA should never have gotten involved in helping give Israel's land away. We need to repent before we receive the consequences of our nation's involvement and actions. We also need to pray that our leaders listen to Godly counsel regarding these things."

CLOSING PRAYER
===============
Dear Lord, we lift these things up to you, and we ask for your intervention. We ask that the stubborn loved ones who have "held out" would come into the Kingdom during this time. We also ask for your protection and pray Psalm 91 and Psalm 37 and plead the blood of Jesus over our loved ones, our nation, and ourselves. We ask for forgiveness, mercy, wisdom, and discernment. And we thank you for all you are and do!
