Angels in God's Kingdom by Barbie Breathitt

By Barbie Breathitt
Angels have been with us since before the beginning of time. These seen and unseen beings of light can traverse galaxies in a moment of time. Champions of righteousness, they herald God's loving messages of truth, salvation, healing, and deliverance to the earth. These majestic creatures protect and defend justice and oversee an eternal Kingdom. Although angels carry awe-inspiring responsibility on a universal level, they still focus upon the needs of the smallest, seemingly insignificant person.

Doing Our Part

There are certain times, seasons, and events that God has decreed, ordained, or predestined to happen in the world. God predetermines these events because He knew what man would choose to do before the foundations of the world. But, people still have a choice in the roles they play. Prayer and prophetic intercession can delay negative things from happening, providing more time for people to get saved, healed and delivered. Angels are used to communicate heaven's plans; our part is to choose to obediently bring the Kingdom of God to Earth.

The Seen and Unseen Realms

Creation is teeming with life both in the tangible, natural realms and in the divine, invisible, supernatural realms. Physical beings and spiritual beings coexist together in the same space. The more time we spend getting to know God, the more we learn about the realms of the spirit, and how to overcome thrones, dominions, principalities, and powers. When we enter into the presence of God, the source of all power and life, barriers are shattered and limitations are removed. We were born to be limitless. The Holy Spirit builds us up in our faith so that we are empowered to do great exploits. As we place our faith, hope, and trust in Jesus we soar into new realms of majestic discovery.

The invisible realms are the eternal realms where God, heavenly beings, our loved ones who have joined the cloud of witnesses, and the celestial angels reside. They are more real than the earthly realm in which we dwell because they have entered their eternal states. God upholds all things through the Word of His power. We are promised a seventy year lifespan on Earth but that time is like a vapor in comparison to the infinity we will spend in heaven. Our spirits were created to spend all of eternity with God, the creator of the universe. Learning of God's ways is vital in the process of transformation to become like Him. It is of utmost importance that we learn to navigate the realms and dimensions of God's Spirit world while we are on Earth. What we do not learn here during our earthly journey, we will be taught by the angels when we are in heaven. Spiritual knowledge is not imparted through the laying on of hands in a prayer line; spiritual knowledge is obtained through an encounter with the Holy Spirit or the angelic realm. We must study, pray and spend time in God's presence to learn how our spiritual gifts operate so that we can apply our supernatural experiences in life. Impartation is a powerful tool if the one receiving the impartation by the laying on of hands studies the Bible to receive the revelation knowledge that is necessary to allow the administration and then the manifestation of that particular gift in their life. When gifts are given we become accountable for their use, misuse, or neglect. Prayers of impartation are not to give us spiritual experiences and goose bumps but to equip the body of Christ to know God, win souls, minister in power with signs, wonders and miracles following. Many are called but few are chosen. Out of the thousands I have laid hands on only a few will discipline themselves to study their gifts and submit to mentoring to become approved by God as a workman worthy to labor in the kingdom of God.

What are Angels?

What are angels? — A word signifying, both in the Hebrew and Greek, a "messenger," and used to denote any agent God sends forth to execute His purposes. It is used of an ordinary messenger in Job 1:14; 1 Samuel 11:3; Luke 7:24, and 9:52, of prophets in Isaiah 42:19; Haggai 1:13, of priests in Malachi 2:7, and ministers of the New Testament in Revelation 1:20. Pestilence has also been used as an impersonal messenger (2 Samuel 24:16-17; 2 Kings 19:35), as well as the wind (Psalm 104:4). But, when one wants to make a distinction about angels, they are heavenly beings with great beauty and intelligence. God dispatches these messengers to carry out the government of Heaven on Earth. The name angel denotes their rank or office as messengers, not their nature. They are called "holy" in Mark 8:38, Luke 9:26, and "elect" in 1 Timothy 5:21. If they offer their loyal allegiance to serve God, they are called "the angels of God" John 1:51. Angels are called "evil" or "unclean spirits," in Luke 8:2; 11:24, 26; if they are of the one-third of the angels who fell with Lucifer we read about in Matthew 25:41, "the devil and his angels" and "dragon and his angels" in Revelation 12:3-4, and 7.
