God is Summoning the Mapmakers by Amber Picota

By Amber Picota
I was listening to a book on audio this morning, as I often do, and the author quoted what he called an old Montana saying. It went like this, "The time to have the map is before you enter the woods." The premise of the quote is that you want to be prepared with instruction BEFORE you enter into a situation where you need instruction, which makes total sense when you're thinking logically and practically.  But shortly after hearing this quote, immediately I had to pause the audio book because God started speaking on the matter.

This saying is 100% true, unless you're the mapmaker.

At one point, those woods were uncharted territory. Someone had to map those woods out. Someone had to be the first to be brave enough to enter the woods, with no instruction, and make a way for others to follow them into unknown territory.

Enter the Woods

I believe God is summoning the mapmakers to come forth and enter the "woods" with no instructions. No map in hand. No real grid for what to expect.

God is saying that if you will rise to the occasion, He Himself will release the revelation to you about where to go, where to step, where not to step. And you will map a trail for others to follow.

In more practical terms, there are people that God is calling forth in the world today to do things that have never been done. There's no 12 step program out there to fully  show you how to do what God is calling you to do, and that's ok because you're about to do something that has never been done before.

It will take some backbone and fortitude to do what God has called you to do, and you may not have any other examples to follow, but that's ok because you are a mapmaker, and you don't do this because it's safe and cuddly. You do it for God and for the ones who will come behind you, needing a map in their hand in order to navigate the terrain that YOU trail-blazed ahead of them.

Let's do this.

Be blissed!
