How to Fight Back When Satan Works Overtime to Destroy You by Kathy DeGraw

By Kathy DeGraw
In the military, our service personnel are disciplined, organized and committed to the cause of defending our country. When we think about spiritual warfare, we could relate it to our service personnel. The enemy comes to "steal and kill and destroy" (John 10:10). He will perform any means possible to wreak havoc on your life. We could say the enemy, and his demonic cohorts are disciplined, organized and committed. We need to realize we have an adversary working overtime to cause destruction, inflict disease and delay our prophetic destiny. He destroys marriages, causes dissension and stirs up offense, so we feel rejected and betrayed.

We need to realize we have an adversary working overtime to cause destruction, inflict disease and delay our prophetic destiny. He destroys marriages, causes dissension and stirs up offense, so we feel rejected and betrayed. I think we could agree the enemy is committed to his cause of destroying our lives and causing us spiritual warfare to distract and detour our God-given assignments.

Learning from Goliath

Goliath was also committed (1 Sam. 17). He was committed to intimidate the Israelites with His words. His threats were verbal, but for 40 days and nights, he threw out the power of His words to intimidate and have fear arise. He was disciplined in going after the Israelites consistently.

I think we could learn from Goliath and the enemy. I know I'll stir some people saying we can learn from the enemy. I agree, "learning" and "from the enemy" shouldn't be in the same sentence. However, the enemy and his demons are disciplined, organized and committed. What if we as Christians got that same discipline and commitment that his troops exude? It is time we stood up and prayed on the offense with the power of our words and spoke out against his camp. We shouldn't feel intimidated or scared by him and his tactics. We shouldn't live in fear, worry and stress. The majority of what we fear, worry and stress about never comes to pass.

Fighting for what We Believe

God is calling for an army of disciplined and obedient warriors to rise up and fight for what they believe. We need to be speaking out and decreeing and declaring against the enemy's camp, against what attempts to plague us. We need to be disciplined, organized and committed to our prayer time and specifically praying on the offense and not just the defense.

When are we going to see that if we would pray offensively, we wouldn't encounter some of the spiritual warfare that comes our way? When are we going to rise up and take the authority Jesus came to give us? When are we going to get disciplined, organized and committed? In my book, Speak Out, learn the power of your words and speaking out through declaring prayer and in Discerning and Destroying the Works of Satan, learn how the enemy operates and how to combat his strategies with the spiritual warfare arsenal God has given you.

It is time we rise up and fight and become disciplined, organized and committed!
