How Important is the Mind? by Jeremy Lopez

By Jeremy Lopez
Greetings, friends and ministry partners!  I am so pleased to announce that I have recently completed the manuscript for what I truly believe to be one of the most needed, most comprehensive books ever written regarding the power of faith and belief, my newest release THE MIND: Beliefs, Perception, Neurons, and Sound Waves.  In this newest release, I share what I truly, firmly believe to be a clarion call to the Body of Christ and to humanity at large: a need for greater understanding of the mind. Whether you've ever taken the time to fully realize it or not, you are powerful beyond belief. The same power that formed the worlds and hurled the stars onto the canvas of the night sky at Creation is the same power that now resides within your very own being.

"Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.  Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.  Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.  She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.  Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many." (Proverbs 4:5-10 KJV)

In the beginning, according to the Gospel of John, there existed the Word.  Yet, in order for the words "Let there be" to even be spoken, there first had to have also existed an ability to think and to envision and to desire.  It truly would be no exaggeration to say, "In the beginning was The Mind."  The Mind of God then became infused with Creation as man was formed and fashioned in the image of the Creator – the Breathe of Life being infused within him. Your beliefs are so powerful, in fact, that Jesus declared you will be given exactly what you believe.

Recognizing the Origin of Beliefs

However, it's important to recognize where beliefs truly come from.  Why do you believe what you believe?  Why do you have the faith that you have?  And, perhaps more importantly, what makes you so convinced that your beliefs are absolutely true?  For centuries, the damnable lies of religion have convinced us that we should never question our beliefs, saying that our role is to simply have faith and to "Just believe."  But believe what, exactly?  Yes, the question must be asked.  And, yes, the answer matters greatly.  Did you know that even Jesus believed in the importance of questioning beliefs?  It's true!  Why else would he say, "Ask, seek, and knock?"  You see, my friend, the true journey of faith is always a journey of discovery – a journey of being led toward greater truth.  You and I are always being moved from "glory" to "glory." In order to get to greater glories, though, sometimes it's important to recognize and to admit that our beliefs need to change.  This begins when we come to the understanding that, as much as we've seen, as much as we've experienced, and as much revelation as we've gained, there is always, always more to come.  You haven't seen it all.  You haven't experienced it all.  And, contrary to what your church or your pastor have told you, the truth of the matter is that you don't know it all and, no, your beliefs aren't always right. Recognizing this is important if you are ever going to move into the greater truths and the deeper experiences of God.  It's alright to ask.  It's alright to seek after greater truth.  In fact, not only is questioning permitted within the Kingdom of God; it's actually demanded.  Are you hungry enough for the things of God that you're willing to become more open-minded?
