Bucket Kicking! by Bret Wade

By Bret Wade
A lot of us are in process right now. Don't get in a hurry. The world is not coming to an end. Things may be changing, but it's not doomsday. It's time to awaken the ekklesia. I get wearied when hearing modern "Christian" lingo as we face unfamiliar happenings in the world. There is a defeated, helpless mentality that echoes what has been said repetitively causing inaction for way too many years. Then those things get thrown into helpless, hopeless buckets. There are many.  The one I'm thinking about at this moment is the, "It's the End-Times, You Know" bucket. I'm sorry dear soul. It's not. Nor is it time to escape. It's not time to endlessly stream on-demand zombie apocalypse movies.

It may not be the end awaiting the Rapture. But it may be the end of some things that we've been accustomed to and prefer. Church as usual is in the balance.

"And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16:18)

It's time to become the ekklesia of God that the gates of Hell cannot withstand. That's language indicating that darkness cannot defend itself against those who know their relationship, placement and nature.

It's in times like these when we cannot do all things that distracted us before that we discover the things that were always present. God is an ever-present help in time of need. We tend to discover that when we get into tight situations outside of ourselves.

Wouldn't it be different if we discovered that in everyday life. So, throw all the "it's the end-time" scenarios and all the other junk out along with the bucket. It won't help you right now. Don't let fear of the end and it's sensationalism steal your focus.

This time has been set aside for the Body of Christ to regain focus on what's important letting go of unnecessary things. There is one thing that is vital right now. Knowing your God.

"Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits." (Daniel 11:32)

There is still a spiritual war going on for your attention and agreement. What are you focusing on? Let's get back to basics and refocused.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." (Romans 8:14)
