As I look back at the themes and words the Lord gave me in 2007, I am amazed how many prophetic people are hearing the same things. Although we see this happen every year, it appears as we entered 2008, our ability to hear was sharpened. It's quite uncanny how we are hearing as one Body. The prophets' ears are beginning to hear as one in unity of the Spirit. This speaks of a new level of separation between the precious and the worthless, and the soul and the spirit. On this point, I am thrilled.
Ears to Hear
Revelation 2:7, "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Churches."

In the letters scribed by Apostle John to the seven churches, the messenger ends his letters with the same words: "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." In the few months prior to the close of 2007, the Lord would again and again speak these words to me regarding what He was showing me for the Body of Christ at large.
The Lord really had my attention when our family was given two vehicles in 2007. The first one was given to my oldest son for his high school graduation by someone who had never met him. Then a number of months later, my husband and I were also given a much needed vehicle. The interesting thing is that both vehicles were Audis. These were extremely extravagant gifts for our family, and it caused us to wonder if God was trying to say something prophetic to us through this.
My sister-in-law decided to do some research on the name Audi. In her research she discovered that the word Audi means "listen." When she told us this, the Spirit clearly told me that we have been given "two ears to listen to what His Spirit is saying to the Church." Although these vehicles are a prophetic sign (as well as a great blessing for a natural need), we understand God is saying to His people that those ministries (spiritual vehicles) that have "two ears to hear" will hear what His Spirit is saying to the Church. They will hear with greater measure in this new day.
Our good ideas and human strength will not hit the mark. Absolute dependency on the Spirit that leads us into the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation and instructs us in "what the Father is doing" will hit the mark every time!
This Little Light of Mine: A Word to Today's Younger Generation
One of the messages I believe the Spirit is saying to the Church today is addressed to the younger generation (25 and under). I have had the opportunity in the past couple of years to spend a lot of time with young people. I love them! I love their energy, their playfulness, their dreams and their expectations. Three of our four kids are teens (well, one is 20), therefore our house is constantly filled with young, energetic people. I love to sow into these lives and pray for them.
Recently while praying for this younger generation, I began to hear the Spirit of the Lord sing over them a Sunday school song, This Little Light of Mine:
This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.
This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel, NO! I'm going to let it shine
Hide it under a bushel, NO! I'm going to let it shine.
Then the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me saying, "I'm calling forth the light of the younger generation to be revealed. Declare over them that they will no longer hide their light under a bushel, NO! They will now let it shine and break the power of darkness off of many of their peers. I have young anointed leaders who are not leading due to the fear of ridicule, but I say to them now, 'Lead and many will follow!' Let your light shine now."

Follow the Leader
After hearing these words, I began to see the child's game "Follow the Leader." I saw young people with an anointing to lead in their schools, in their youth groups, in their workplaces, and in their spheres of influence as they begin to let their light shine, moving forward as leaders amongst their peers. Then one by one, young people began to follow. These young leaders were merely catalysts to launch a generation of young people who will let their light shine in a dark and dying world. As they began to let their light shine and follow the True Leader (Jesus), chains of compromise, depression, oppression and demonic influence fell off of many of them and those around them. They became pure, clear lights that had a spirit of deliverance on their lives. They were coming forth like an army of light; they were like "sickles of light" in the hand of the Lord to gather a great harvest.
Isaiah 61:1-3, "The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion--to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of His splendor."
I want to speak to all the young people who are reading this or hearing this word, "Let your light shine!" Say to yourself, "I will not hide my light under a bushel...NO!" You will not walk alone if you stand up and take your place as a leader. You will not be put to shame for your faith and for your commitment to walk in holiness. A spirit of influence and favor will come upon you, and you will lead many to do the same. There is a longing that is building in the hearts of the young people, and it is a longing for uncompromising purity and relational intimacy.
God is saying for you to--take the first step and He will run to you. It is not by your strength, your power or might, or self control--it is by His Spirit that you will be able to walk in this way. Many youth are standing up for Godly issues in this day and hour, but you will also stand up for Godly living. Issues will begin to change because the lives of a generation of young people are changed. You are "transformers," and you will do mighty things as you humble yourself and allow God to raise you up into a holy generation that does not compromise Godly integrity.
The Restoration of Original Intent: A Word to the "Fathers and Mothers"
For months now, the Lord has been talking to me about the restoration of His original intent for His people. He would tell me over and over, "I'm taking back the original intent I had before the fall, before the creation of the world...back to the beginning." I know there are so many words given to the younger generation. And many from the older generation who have walked faithfully for many years, are wondering, "What about me?" I also see God taking many of the "fathers and mothers" who are standing at a threshold of restoration and are about to cross over into what God has for them. Due to the way that many have been taught, they have wondered, "How can I cross over this threshold?" or, "What must I do to cross over this threshold?" But the Lord is saying that it's not about "how" or "what" but it is about absolute dependency!
Even to those who have wandered in the desert in a forty-year cycle, God is looking for you to come out and lean in dependency upon His shoulder and allow Him and His strength to carry you over. Song of Solomon 8:5, "Who is this coming up from the desert leaning on her lover?"
God is about to restore many men and women who have faithfully walked with Him and bring them to His original intent for their lives. It does not matter how far you think you have fallen or how disillusioned you have become because in repentance and rest, your deliverance will come. Many are becoming aware of how far they have fallen short, and yet at the same time, they know how great the grace of the Lord and the power of the Cross are. It is in this awareness of your weakness that your dependency will come, allowing you to be ushered into restoration. There is a plan God has for your life that has not changed with time, and God is in the process of restoring many of you back into that plan even now. For some of you, this will be absolutely miraculous. The good news is God is a God of miracles, and miracles are what we are about to see! God is about to manifest His strength through what the world has called "Foolish"--His Church.
1 Corinthians 1:20-31, "Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For indeed Jews ask for signs, and Greeks search for wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness, but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that He might nullify the things that are, that no man should boast before God. But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, Who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, that, just as it is written, 'Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.'"

Therefore fathers and mothers, lean on your Beloved because He has your restoration in His hands. Your youth will be renewed and your dreams will come to life once again. Though it is true that a great army of young people will arise, they will not arise alone! This is a chosen generation, made up of all those who are living on planet earth in this day. We are a great army of light that will be used of the Lord, not because of our strength, not because of our great gifts, but because we found our "First Love" and leaned on our Beloved. We will love because He first loved us. This will be an army of people who desire to bring pleasure to their King and to see Him glorified more than anything else.
Youth, do you have ears to hear what His Spirit is saying to you? Fathers and Mothers, do you have ears to hear what His Spirit is saying to you? He is raising you up by His Spirit--not by your strength or power, not by your human efforts or abilities--but by His Spirit. Will you believe?
