Moses Is Dead; Now What?

Charlton Heston, longtime Hollywood leading actor who portrayed Moses in "The Ten Commandments" movie, has died at age 84. As I heard of this news, I immediately heard, "Moses is dead," and was referred to the following scriptures in Joshua 1:

(1) After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying: (2) "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them--the children of Israel. (3) Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses."

I felt that the Lord may be speaking some things through this prophetic parallel. One is, Charlton Heston paved the way for astonishing 'religious' movies, but now that he has passed on. I believe there are some 'Joshuas' that God is raising up to go even further in that realm.

Another is, we are in a time when a lot of our older religious leaders are getting ready to 'go home.' But we still have a 'Promised Land' to enter into, and we are not without those 'Joshuas' in that arena either. In that, I believe the Lord is calling them forth, "for such a time as this," to lead the people of God forward into the spiritual "promised land" of today. - A time when we will see many come into the Kingdom, and when many who are alive today may get to see the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, first hand.

Losing Moses was hard on the Israelites, but they still had a long road ahead to travel. God had been raising Joshua up all the while that he faithfully assisted Moses. Just as the Lord did with Joshua in that day, He is calling these new Bible pioneers forth, and speaks now to them:

(2) "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them--the children of Israel. (3) Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. (5) No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. (6) Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. (7) Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. (8) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (9) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:5-9)

In this, there is a command to be strong, courageous, and constantly consume and be consumed with the Word in order to be successful in that call. If those things are done, God promises to be with you and make your way prosperous and successful.

2008 is a time of New Beginnings, which means the end of some things comes first. Also, I saw the "8" fall on it's side, and it became the insignia for infinity. This will be time of "new beginnings" of ETERNAL SIGNIFICANCE. So, don't be afraid of change. Some of you faithfully stood by others for a long time, but this is a time when God is calling you forth now to lead. He is speaking to some of you to stop looking for someone else to lead, and for you to come forth, pick up your rod (authority), and go forth. It's time! And His is and will be with you wherever you go!
