Properly Aligned and On Time in 2009

Fellow Believers, for several months now I have been praying for a directive word for the Body of Christ for 2009 so that we can apply our faith toward the Word of the Lord. God is faithful. Allow me to share what I have been hearing from Him for our season.

I awoke this last Christmas morning by a "sound from Heaven." I am reminded, as I write this message, that it was at the same time last year that I was awakened with the sound of an alarm clock ringing. Then came a message from Heaven about "being at the faith gate for 2008." If ever we needed faith, it was in the year of 2008! I'm certain I don't need to list all of the ways our faith has been challenged during 2008. And yet, we will still need great levels of faith to move forward into 2009!

The key is this - our faith must be properly aligned with His Word. In other words, we are to co-labor with Him and His directives in order to continue to move forward in this next season.

The Symphony

The sound I heard this time was the sound of music. It was the beautiful, harmonious sound of a symphony, yet there was only one note played! It was so incredibly beautiful and harmonious, yet so distinct the sound jolted me from bed! Even as I continue to write I am filled with awe how, on Christmas morning, I was alerted to a sound from Heaven - as if it were announcing the day to celebrate the gift of Jesus who was sent to redeem us!

I was very aware that the symphonic sound of only one note meant something very specific, so I pressed into Heaven to hear what God was saying. Being just "one note" from a symphony symbolizes the unity and the "oneness" in Christ. After all, Heaven's symphony will always resound unity. We are to be one with Him and His purposes for our lives.

Being in unity with His Word means that we not only remain strong in our faith and His ability to sustain in troubled times, but also there is an added dimension of co-laboring with one another in the Body of Christ. To be one with Him is to be one with each other and walk in agreement with His purposes.

The Power of Agreement

Using the Amplified Version of the Bible, we notice how praying and being in agreement creates the unity and sound as does a symphony:

"Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever (anything and everything) they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in Heaven." Matthew 18:19

Wow! Is that awesome? When we agree, God moves on our behalf because the power of agreement creates a symphonic sound.

Let's not for one moment think the enemy is going to allow unity. No! He will attempt to bring disunity among Believers and also cause us to misalign with God's Word - therefore, we will not be in unity with God's purposes. Satan desires that we "bow down" to his seducing lies so we do not trust God, or one another. Precious ones, if we do not trust God we will never be able to trust others. To continue to not trust God will cause us to remain circling in the wilderness.

I am reminded of Nebuchadnezzar and how he built an idol and commanded several instruments to make a "sound" and all who heard it were to bow down:

"Therefore, as soon as they heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp and all kinds of music, all the peoples, nations and men of every language fell down and worshiped the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up." Daniel 3:7

Interestingly, the word sound in this passage means to have a voice. The instruments together were creating a harmonious sound; each tone in perfected alignment and agreement, coming together to make one sound, being one voice, for the kingdom of darkness. Compare that to the benefits we as Believers have when we make a voice in agreement; we create a mighty, mighty force for God's Kingdom!

As Believers, when we study the benefits of praying in "agreement" or praying in "agreement" with one another, we realize that we become a mighty force for the Kingdom of God. The word agree in Greek is sumphoneo and it means "to be harmonious, (to be) in one accord and in unity." Therefore, when we come into agreement with God's Word then we agree in unity with His sound and as we speak forth His Word we are a part of the symphony of Heaven.

On another note, Nebuchadnezzar built the idol in the plain of Dura, which means "to encircle." Our enemy desires to encircle us with doubt and unbelief which will keep us circling in the wilderness. Let's not heed the sound of disunity or idolatry in this next year. Let's be determined to not bow down to the seductive voice of the enemy so that we can be on time for our breakthroughs. Being in the right place at the right time will be extremely important in our next season.

I heard the Lord say that in 2009 He is "awakening the sleeping giant." The Church is arising out of her lack of passion and He is releasing His fire to cause us to arise and shine in 2009.

On Time in 2009

God is going to redeem the time in 2009 so that we are properly positioned and aligned in the coming year. God desires for us to be on His timetable - in fact I heard Him say, "Your time is Mine in 2009!" As He redeems our time, there will be nothing else that matters to us except that we are on time according to His direction. The Lord has been competing with the cares of this world for our attention. Considering how we have been challenged in 2008, we have realized we cannot control our future - our future is in Him.

Much of our focus has been self-centered rather than Him-centered. This has caused an alert from Heaven which is declaring that our times are now His in this new season.

There are several directives listed below that we are to give directional attention to in 2009:

1. We must reorder our days so that our time becomes His.

This means that at the beginning of your daily watch, give your time to God and set your day in order. This will insure you being at the right place at the right time. It's one thing to "declare" favor, but to walk in it we must be at the door of opportunity at the right time! I love Chuck Pierce's book Reordering Your Day. His book is timely for this season. In his book, he discusses the need to watch over each of our days and allow the Lord to set our day in order.

Dear Believers, this is absolutely necessary. We are at war and anyone who has been in the military understands the importance of each watch. Without a watch we are vulnerable to an attack of the enemy. To "watch," according to Chuck, means to "peer into the distance, to investigate, or get a new scope on something, to see an approaching danger" (page 9).

The Lord is promising to "redeem the time" in 2009, but first we must become responsible for "watching over our time" so that "our time aligns with His time." As a result, "Your time becomes Mine," according to the word of the Lord. Ephesians 5:8-18 instructs us to arise and goes on to say that this, along with gaining wisdom, is necessary to redeem the time.

Therefore, as God redeems our time there is a transformation that is also taking place within us as Believers. Each of us has our part to play, a responsibility of obedience, in order for the Lord to redeem our time and place us "in His time." And, we must remember that it is our responsibility to walk in light if we desire for Him to redeem our time.

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.

"Therefore He says: 'Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.' See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God." Ephesians 5:8-21

In this next year, let's ask the Lord to not only order our day and place us within His timeframe, but also to be the light to the world. This is our highest calling, to be like Him - the Light. If this takes first place in our hearts, all else aligns properly.

2. Break out of Passivity and be focused to fight. We are His army, and we are at war with darkness!

First, let me state that I don't believe we can battle effectively unless our day is ordered and we are in sync with His time. We can war and shout, but unless He is in the shout we are wasting our time. Numbers 23:21 basically says that we, as Believers, cannot be cursed because the shout of the King is within us.

Let's take "time" to develop the shout of God within us this year so that we truly win the battles ahead. I am not referring to merely shouting upon instruction during a church service; I am talking about the shout from God Himself that rises up within our spirits and is then released into the atmosphere to release our promised breakthroughs. The word shout in Numbers 23:21 refers to not only a shout of praise to their king, but it also refers to a shout of triumph. It is the same shout that was used to demolish the walls of Jericho. (Joshua 6).

We must realize that this type of shout is developed out of relationship and faith in God and not merely a shout directed simply by a hyped up or emotional condition. This type of shout is based out of a passionate desire to know God and move with His purposes. This is a shout that will break us out of tradition and passivity.

3. Be willing to Fight for Your Family and the Next Generation.

The "Family" includes not only your natural family, but also the "Family of God." It is time to go to war for those who co-labor with us and our spiritual leaders, as well as our children and other natural family members. We have been a selfish generation, focused on self-achievement. Now we have come to the place where we must reproduce into the next generation.

I felt that the Lord quickened me to begin to be like Abraham and become one who "crossed over." Abraham was a Hebrew which means one who "crosses over" (Strong's #5674). When he received knowledge that Lot and his family were taken captive by the five Amorite kings, he gathered his trained servants and pursued them unto Dan.

A quick study on the four Amorite kings gives valuable information on how to release our own family from generational strongholds and empower them to redeem their times and seasons:

Chedorlaomer, the King of Elam: His name means "the binding of sheaves. We can defeat a "binding" spirit if we come into agreement with God and His Word. Interestingly, Chedorlaomer's territory was Elan which implies "eternity." We are binding strongholds with eternity in mind. We must become a people of purpose, realizing that what we do really does affect eternal purposes.

The second king Abraham battled and defeated was Tidal. His name means "terrible, great fear, make afraid and to cause to shrink back and crawl away." Doesn't this sound like a tactic of the devil against us today? Satan would love to see us shrink back from our God-given assignments. Tidal's territory was "The Nations." This is self-explanatory - satan does not want us concerned with nations. However, God is VERY concerned with nations and so should we be. I believe that in 2009 there will be a monumental release for Believers to impact nations as never before because God is putting nations into our hearts.

The third king was Shinar and his territory was Amraphel. His name means "sayer of darkness" and his dominion was known as ancient Babylon. The enemy is speaking over our wealth and declaring that we will continue to struggle with a poverty mentality. Satan is speaking darkness over church breakthroughs, finances and our government. We must arise and agree with what God declares over our finances and breakthroughs in this next season so that when the doors of opportunity open, we are positioned to go through.

The fourth king was the King of Ellasar and his dominion was Arioch. His name translates a "lion-like" and his dominion translates as "God is the chastener." The enemy continues to be as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, yet we must not heed his sound. But, rather we should believe God to chastise our enemy.

The Lord says this: "I am going to vindicate many who have been falsely accused in the past. I will not only vindicate, but I will utterly destroy the unclean strongholds which have set themselves as a fortress against My people. In the midst of great famine and confusion, I will pour out My spirit. Those who are on time and positioned, just as Joseph in the days of famine, I will cause to prosper in a great way. Many feel that darkness is consuming them, but I say no! You will not be burned by the fiery trials. You who feel imprisoned and alone, I am about to release you into your dreams and even as Joseph came forth in My timing so will you!"

Arise and Shine on Time!

It is Time to Arise and Strengthen ourselves with faith and expectation for our future. During this season, we are changing garments and the enemy hates it because as we exchange our old garments for new ones we are becoming a new wineskin. Satan desires for us to be chained to our past so that we never achieve our potential. Let me assure you that though all hell is positioned to attempt to defeat us, God is bigger!

Dear ones, this is our finest hour! Don't shrink back, crawl back or go back! Arise, shine, be aligned and on time in 2009!
