Become a Source of Life by Todd Bentley

By Todd Bentley

Have you ever been in a dead church as an "alive" Christian? Have you attended services where there's no move of God, no prophecy, no presence, no anointing-just spiritual famine? The Lord wants to lead you to your own brook and give you divine water and food even during drought.  He promises in Deuteronomy 11:13-14 that as you love and serve Him with all your heart and soul, He will pour out rain on your land.  When others are starving, dying, and ready to give up on Jesus for lack, God will pour out the rain and bread of His presence.

But what do you do when there is famine? Everyone's turned their back on God-there's no renewal, no refreshing, and the wells are dry.  Are you close enough to God that even in the midst of drought, you're eating and drinking from an endless heavenly supply? That is what God gave to Elijah.  There was a famine and yet he was blessed with bread, meat, and even his own river (1 Kin. 17:1-6).

Later in 1 Kings 17, Elijah met a widow with a handful of flour and a little jar of oil.  In the midst of famine, the widow, her son, and Elijah lived for a long time on that flour and oil-God continued to multiply their small supply.

Do you know how to tap into God's supply of oil, bread, and meat when you have no natural source? Do you know where to find your own river even when there's no rain or dew on the land? When there's no well, no renewal, and no refreshing? When everyone else has given up on God? When it's hard and when it's bleak? Do you have free access to God's fountains of the deep at all times?

Take Hold of God

Can you dig up that spiritual water supply in prayer? When God is hiding from you, can you chase Him down and get hold of Him? Can you stir yourself up to take hold of God? Can you be a well, a source of revival in a land where there is no revival? Can you be the fire in a place that is cold and without fire? Elijah could-and did.

I tell you, I'm going to have oil.  I'm going to have bread and meat.  I'm going to call forth my own river in the desert where I'll drink as much as I want, even when there is famine.  I'm going to dig open the fountains of the deep in prayer and love God with all m heart and soul fill heaven rains down on me.

Others can dry out, but I'm going to lock myself in my room for twenty-four hours.  And I won't come out until I hear God's voice and see His face.  The Lord always has a man or woman who will passionately love Him and will draw upon the divine well of His presence with in them, even in famine.  Like Elijah, you can be a source of spiritual life and revival for a hungry and thirsty generation.
