What do we think about God? Do we think about him as a joyful God?
Yes, indeed he is a joyful God. He loves to be full of humor. And He wants us to be as joyful as He is. Let us look at some scriptures.
Zephaniah 3:14-17 Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away your judgments; He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; You shall see disaster no more. In that day it shall be said: "Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak. The Lord your God is in your midst, The mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
Amazing! What a God do we serve. Do you believe He wants us to be joyful every moment? Think about it. What does the Word say?
Rejoice and again I say rejoice! Philippians 4:4
Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. Philippians 3:1
The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy. Romans 14:17
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
Isn't it amazing? Aren't we sometimes mourning and complaining instead of being rejoicing?
What is God for you? What did He do for you? Come on! We need to see His work on the cross again!
We were sinners and debtors to God almighty. What does the scripture tells us about us?
We are like maggots and worms and like nothing (Job 25:6 Psalm 144:3-4).
Apart from Him, there is no honor in our life. He is the one who helps, he is the one who sets us free and the one gives us worth.
Every help comes from Him (Psalm 74:12).
He gives us our breath and in Him we exist and move and have our being! (Acts 17).
He delivered us from sin and pain and it is because of Him we have to fear no more. It is because of Him we are healed and through Him we are saved. Through Him we can have a joyful life full of peace and abundance!
What did the Lord say when he was on earth?
John 17:13 But now I come to you , and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
His joy! Wow, think about His joy. It is divine joy.
John 15:11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
We can have this joy in us when we see who He is and what He did for us.
Isaiah 35:10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
How you think Jesus felt on the earth? Was He always depressed and discouraged because of the unbelief in the people or how was He?
Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than your companions.
