Facing the New Year can be
depressing! I mean…everyone seemed to have a lot of fun watching a giant ball
drop - while you may just want to prepare your heart…or go to sleep.
Guess we should be restructuring
our goals by now! Except many of us are sidetracked with more obligations than
we have physical or emotional energy or financial where-with-all to finish.
Then, there's all the bad news, loud talking, and loud everything else.
Somehow, there seems to be no
time for ourselves, our thoughts, or our meditations.
Many don't even allow time to
think - we just have to have the TV or radio going…and our phone sending texts
and emails dinging.
Frankly, most of us need a
reality check - just ask yourself, "WHY am I not listening to the inner part of
myself?"
Turning Off
When you turn off the external
inputs, you discover the incredible silent spaces of the Lord and all the new
possibilities, opportunities, and different solutions to nagging problems.
The questions to ask are, "Am I a
human being - or a human doing? What is it all about? BEING or DOING?"
When lives become non-stop, you
become worn out.
There has to be time when you
stop answering the phone, you quit reading email, and doing social media. There
must be times of relaxation, recreation, quiet time, and time with family.
