Many teachers teach "down" to others. They mean well, they come across as being informed and studied, but they teach or preach down to people. They "know," they have the "experience," they have "a position", they have "expertise" - and they might! But if they don't impart something, did you really hear it? Did your soul embrace it? Were you allowed to ask questions? Was it quickly heard and then quickly forgotten, or not employed? Was dinner afterward more memorable?

Many teachers teach "down" to others. They mean well, they come across as being informed and studied, but they teach or preach down to people.
 
They "know," they have the "experience," they have "a position", they have "expertise" - and they might! But if they don't impart something, did you really hear it? Did your soul embrace it? Were you allowed to ask questions? Was it quickly heard and then quickly forgotten, or not employed? Was dinner afterward more memorable?
 
Then how good of a teacher were they? Some things need some repetition! And you do have to get involved with that part of learning personally. But is your life being transformed?
 
Some want the "high" of position, but are they of God? The proof is in the pudding they say; is there a changed life? Is there something that remains after life's tumbles?
 
Is that how Jesus did it? Or did He get down in the dust with them. Here is the thing with Jesus, He is so amazing that He leaks! While He teaches amazing things and shares strategy with His disciples and followers, He leaks - it just flows out of Him! He is a Life-giving force/source like a fountain!
 
He can't pass by a funeral and not raise up the dead. He can't see a sick person and not heal, especially if they call on Him. But He also taught others to be like Him, to have the Father's will in their life. He has confidence in who He is!
 
The Power of God at Work
 
It is more than restoring people to their status quo. Many are grateful for that, but when the encounter goes beyond to a changed more giving life, that is the power of God is AT WORK!
 
Are you receiving the living water, are you eating the living bread, that does not decay? Your head and life can be filled with "things"! But does that make you rich?
 
A life that keeps on giving, a life that keeps on changing and evolving, that does not go into boredom but "plenishes" and replenishes is what we want and need!
 
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
 
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
 
We have to recognize Who He Is! You can have the fruit of all the trees but this One. This One needs to be honored and respected. If you eat of this one, from yourself centeredness and greed, you will die! Oh my!
 
But if you can learn to honor the way He wants, since He controls things, like the Universe, then you will prosper.   Then you will live, you will hear, you will produce more fruit and you will rejoice!

God calls weak and tender people to do His work. Many will try to play that down, challenge them, and even expect them to be like God in all His power, even invincible. They will even provoke them. But He says that His Strength is made perfect in weakness. And the faith that is required to believe will be exalted. It's part of the maturing process. Attacks will happen. And they will be exposed for what they are because Light in its strength will shine on the darkness and expose it for what it is!
I am sure you have heard the quip: How do you eat an elephant? Answer: One bite at a time! Of course, most of us aren't into eating elephant, but we get the point on how to tackle big problems. First you have to figure out what the problem is, and then you have to figure out how to deal with it for the purpose desired. You can even find schools to deal with some of those issues you face. But you know, when you are lost and/or out of sorts, there is a lot you have to figure out, and sometimes "the manual" is not there. We look to people and the world around us but find they don't have all the answers to our questions. And many want or need their answer "right now!"
