Prophecy is not magic. In fact, it is not a skill, although some are experienced in it. But that is not the strength of it. Prophecy is not "man" controlled or "man" originated words of God. Prophecy is words of God expressed through man, and the gift is God originated.
I believe God would be pleased if everyone could speak the oracles of God because it would mean that they are close enough to Him to do it!
Because God is a Spirit, the words of God are close to His Heart, and relate to His will and His intentions. True prophetic words are not meant to show off about the future or anything else but His will, but prophetic words are communications of His will.
Man's words do not have power without God. God's words will speak of His Nature, how He is and Who He is.
Many struggle to understand the Sovereignty of God and they should! That understanding can be attained but it requires effort and work, because He is an unfolding God, a revelation in progress, and He never ends.
Jesus worked to explain to us that the Word (and revelation) of God is like a seed that needs to be planted in good ground. Many flowers start off as a bud and then slowly open up into a flower.
But then the flower seems to die, except for one thing. It is often holding the seeds for the plant to produce again, and that often in greater numbers. But most seeds have a shelf life, meaning they last a while, but not forever.
So prophetic revelation can also become compared like that. The beautiful thing to God is when the revelation in our souls grows, blossoms, and multiplies and then more seeds birth new plants! Of course that threatens the enemy of this fallen world, but God is looking for a worthy crop!
But the crop is the multiplied revelation of God in each planting! Many think that WE control good and evil but that is not really so. God never really wanted us to know evil, or anti-God, but man wanted to know that, so He let them. Therefore, we have to work to see things God's way to do that and survive.
But when He finds the people who love Him, and who will embrace Him, then He will gather them to Him. They will be the ones who want to see His revealings grow and multiply. They will not originate from man or another source but are the words from God. It is enough for us to be like Him and in Him, our Nourisher.
The River that flows from the Throne of God will bear and sustain His Life. The prophetic word is the forerunner of that. It's not a man celebration but a forward Move of God in man. Do we, will we, honor Him?
God has a Nature that is His Spirit. Can we tap in, receive, coast and glide and even perform in His will? His Nature is Love and Love can be seen in families, but the families that matter to Him are those who are in His Will. He can manage them to success.
And He will use prophetic words that we might receive more of His unfolding Nature to His Glory.
Our blessing is His Nature, Power and Spirit and we choose to receive it through His Word. The enemy wants to stop it but man has the power to receive it and protect it and then prosper in God's ways of Life everlasting.
