Running Like Elijah by Elaine Tavolacci

By Elaine Tavolacci
Most of us are familiar with the prophet Elijah. Some people think of him as an ecstatic wild looking prophet with eyes like a blazing fire. Well, Elijah was certainly quite unique, but the Lord used him in powerful ways. I want to share a prophetic word that the Holy Spirit gave me last year. He is raising up and placing His anointing on men and women who will run like Elijah. The Lord showed me racehorses standing at a gate ready to run a race. They were not just average horses, but they were thoroughbred horses that were equipped and groomed to run with speed and endurance.

They were tenacious, strong, built up and trained to respond to detailed instructions. They were fit with the correct bridle and bit in their mouth and disciplined to follow their masters’ commands.

These are the men and women that the Lord is raising up as forerunners to release His word across the nations. They will encourage others to be overcomers in trying times. The Lord asked Jeremiah: If you have become weary running with the footman, how will you be able to contend with horses? Those who stand strong in the Lord will run with endurance and not get weary in difficult seasons.

Just as Elijah outran Ahab's chariots, they will run with the word that the Lord put in their mouth, and they will confront the agenda of the enemy head on. Just as Elijah was fed by ravens, they will show others how to be fed supernaturally in times of famine and trust God for their provision.

They will have the wisdom of Jesus as they are faced with challenges. They know their authority and will call down fire from heaven when confronted with the prophets of Baal. The Lord is raising them up as generals to lead the troops to equip their fellow soldiers. He is calling them to the front lines as brave and determined men and women who have no fear of what lies ahead.

He is raising up prophets who will release His word with clarity and precision. He will give them the words to speak to take back their land. They will take a stand against unrighteousness, sin, and injustice, and they will be steadfast in their convictions. Some will walk in the anointing as ministers of old. Their voice carries authoritative words and as they decree a thing it shall be established.

Just as Elijah passed his mantle to Elisha, there will be prophets who will receive a double portion anointing to be used in a mighty way in the great awakening that is to come. This end time army will understand that they are not fighting against flesh and blood but they are battling against powers, principalities, rulers of darkness and wickedness in high places.

Jesus is training His people to be proficient in their duties and know their mission. They are those who understand the significance of wearing the full armor of God. They know their rank and are submitted to their authority therefore they stay in the position to which they were assigned. The just shall live by faith.

Proverbs 24:10 If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.

Jeremiah 12:5 “If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan?”

2 Timothy 2:4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
