Shine Through the Darkness by Taffie Beisecker

Being beckoned by the Holy Spirit to do so, I recently embarked on a three-day prayer get-away by myself, where I spent roughly 12-18 hours each day in continuous prayer, worship, and studying the word. During my time alone with the Holy Spirit, He met with me in ways that exceeded my hopes and expectations. He was with me in what felt like a very tangible presence, while giving me downloads of personal direction, while also speaking to me the following word for the Body of Christ.

On 3/24/2023, the Holy Spirit said to me, “There’s a coming apocalypse. Darkness will be seen for all that it is. But I tell you that as much as the darkness covers the earth, even so much more will My glory be revealed through My sons and daughters who are My righteous heirs.

The sons of righteousness (male and female) will shine through the darkness like the noon day.  Many signs, miracles and wonders will follow them. The darkness will be overwhelmed by the light and know not what to do.

There’s a measure of persecution coming to the Church, but it is not THE persecution. That is why I say it’s a ‘measure.’

I am allowing this pressure to be brought forth. As My people stand up under the weight of this pressure, she – My Ekklesia – will become refined as fine, exquisite, and sought-after gems. Like a rare treasure discovered.

See to it you do not let the press defile you by the pompous acts of another who claims to speak in My name but is not, rather let it refine you.”

I’m a firm believer in dissecting the words used in what is being conveyed to gain a more thorough understanding of the overall message. Therefore, I’ll address the words that are being highlighted to me in my spirit.

First, let’s start with the beginning sentence. More often than not, we tend to associate the word “apocalypse” with horror. I may be in error, but I believe that the reason we most likely lean towards that perspective initially is due to the many books and movies that depict the end of the world or some other horrific event that have the word ‘apocalypse’ in their titles.

The word apocalypse comes from the Greek word apokalypsis and it means – ‘revelation, to be revealed, manifestation, coming, appearing, an uncovering, disclosure of truth, instruction, concerning divine things before unknown.’

Revelation 1:1-2 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

The Revelation

In the above scripture, the underlined words “The Revelation,” in the original text was translated from the word “apokalypsis” (apocalypse).

I’m in no way saying that the book of Revelations doesn’t speak of some horrific events, but rather that the word in itself does not declare doom & horror.

The next word I want to point out is the word ‘glory.’ In the prophetic word given to me, the Lord said that His glory will be revealed through His sons and daughters. There are many different meanings to the word, glory, depending on what manner it is used within a statement.  I’m not going to address all the different possibilities, but I do feel led to reference the one that I believe is the foundational one of which all the other meanings are built upon.

When Moses was being instructed by God to lead the people to the promised land, Moses requested to know who God really was. He made this request by asking to see His glory. God said yes to His request. The following verses are the account of God showing Moses His glory.

Exodus 34:6-7 And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, “keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

As you can see, the description of His glory that He revealed to Moses was that of His nature and character. More than likely, Moses also had a visual image of God’s divine nature as well, but that’s not the focus in this passage of scripture of what God’s revealed glory was all about.

I in no way am limiting God’s glory being revealed through His people to merely one way, but I do believe that the main function of His glory being revealed through His sons and daughters is through His very nature being displayed through our words, actions, responses and so on, so that as we are seen walking in faith, love, righteousness, mercy, longsuffering, goodness, truth, and forgiveness He is glorified.

The definition of measure is (1): an adequate or due portion (2): a moderate degree (3): a fixed or suitable limit.

Persecution can vary in its degree of infliction from one extreme to another and at any level in between the two extremes. The definition of persecute means 1) to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict - specifically: to cause to suffer because of belief 2) to annoy with persistent or urgent approaches (such as attacks, pleas, or importunities): pester.

The Church and Ekklesia

The choice of words the Holy Spirit selected that caught my contemplation the most is that He made reference to “the Church,” and then also to “My Ekklesia.” I’ve sought Him out as to why He didn’t choose to use the same title, if you will, in both places of His reference of either the church or the Ekklesia. The witness within my spirit to this answer is that it’s the “Church” as a whole that will come under the measure of persecution, but only a portion of the church will actually allow the pressure to refine and transform them, while the other portion will allow it to defile them, in whatever way that looks like to the Lord.

Ekklesia is a Greek word which means – ‘called out or forth’, it is often used in the N.T. in reference to ‘church’ or ‘assembly’.

The last word I am inclined to discuss is the word ‘pompous. According to Merriam-Webster the word “pompous” means; excessively elevated or ornate: having or exhibiting self-importance: ARROGANT: relating to or suggestive of pomp or splendor: MAGNIFICENT

Generally speaking, not many people rejoice in hearing that there’s darkness and/or persecution on the horizon.  For the most part, our initial reaction is that of dread or grumbling – is it not? Please don’t misunderstand me, I’m not preaching to the choir by any means. Being led by the Holy Spirit to speak what I’m speaking has myself equally included into the majority who needs to allow our way of thinking to be transformed by the greater truth of God and His Word.

Do we not grumble and feel dread because our minds are more focused upon the temporal than the eternal? Are not our hearts desiring to hold onto our possessions, our rights, and our own lives more than what we are willing to sacrifice all for the eternal reward that awaits us in doing so, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ?

Romans 8:14-19 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.  (My own emphasis added)

The Lord has never said nothing bad will ever happen nor will we not have to endure troublesome times. In fact, He has said the very opposite. He tells us throughout His Word that while we're on this earth we will go through trials and tribulations BUT, He will not leave us or forsake us through it all.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Our faith is wrongly placed if we believe nothing troublesome will ever come our way. Our faith is correctly placed if we believe that regardless of facing some difficult situations in this lifetime, the Lord will bring about His plan for something good to be birthed - even out of the ashes of adversity. True faith is to see Him more clearly during the times of tribulation than we see the flames of the trial.

James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3) knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4) But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Romans 5:3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4) and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Even during times of chaos and tribulations, because we know Him, we can walk through the trials in His peace that surpasses all human logic and understanding. That's genuine faith.

He’s Good, Merciful, and Loving

In December of 2020, the Holy Spirit spoke a very similar word to me as the one I shared above.

The Holy Spirit said, “Prepare and be prepared and share with other’s the urgency to be prepared because when the darkness comes it will come suddenly and seemingly without warning. Have oil in your lamps” (this is the preparation of yourselves - as the oil represents the Holy Spirit within us) “which will be the only way by which to see and discern what is truth while in the time of the darkest darkness.” (Our natural perception will not serve us truthfully in the time of darkness).  “My light within you is to shine continuously outward.” His light within radiates much like a lighthouse does for the ships (vessels) out at sea that would otherwise not be able to discern and know their way (direction) back to shore (truth; salvation). “Do not let My light within you go out, nor hide it, nor snuff it out, nor dim it, for any reason. It is to be as a beacon to others.”

I’d like to emphasize that God does not speak words as what He’s given to me in this message to impart fear. Not at all. Rather, because He is a good, merciful, and loving Father, He informs His children in advance so that we make ourselves prepared and be taken by surprise. Think of it much like a parent who is sending their child to school and although the sun is shining brightly at that moment, the parent who has seen the weather forecast warns the child to take his/her umbrella and raincoat because there’s rain and stormy weather coming their way.  That parent was not forewarning their child to cause him/her to fear. The parent was giving the child a ‘heads up’ so that they would be well prepared and not taken by surprise and therefore suffer unnecessary consequences. It’s a loving and thoughtful parent who takes the steps of giving their child advanced notice for the sake of preparation.

In conclusion, I’d like to share the following scripture that speaks of the steps we all should be continuously taking to be and stay prepared in our lives, our thoughts and our hearts on a daily basis.

Ephesians 6:10-19 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which, you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.

Abundant Blessings!
