The Creative Nature of God by John Belt

Get tapped into the creative nature of God! One of the most powerful things to think about is that we are created in the image and likeness of God. This is what sets man apart from every other living creature. As we are yielded to His Spirit there is amazing potential for what can be released through our lives. In the beginning God CREATED the heavens and the earth. Then we see that the earth was without form - darkness being over the face of the deep.

Then we see that the earth was without form – darkness being over the face of the deep. Next, we see that God’s Spirit hovered over this – God then saying, “Let there be light.” After this we see how God gets on the creative spree as He creates all kinds of things in the earth – then creating man after His own image and likeness.

The Ability to Create

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” Genesis 1:26

Being created in the likeness of God there is dormant within us this ability to create – just as God created all things. Even in our nature there is thing natural desire to see things different – with the accompanying aspect to solve issues, invent things and create environments that make things better for ourselves and for others. The perversion and antithesis of this is when darkness shrouds people’s lives, as we see in movies and other media, that attempts to drown people in darkness and evil.

This is where our inspiration means everything. As man is created in God’s image, we do have tremendous creative power that can be used for evil and for good. Two different kingdoms bring two entirely different inspirations with opposing results. How important it is that we get our inspiration from heaven, the Holy Spirit and yield ourselves in such a way to receive this inspiration from God Himself.

To tap into the creative nature of God in our lives is to live a life of discovery where there are no limits to how He can use us. This crosses into every spectrum of life. This is heaven’s influence being manifested into every sphere of society – even to see God’s goodness revealed where people “taste and see that the Lord is good”.

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalms 34:8

Your Personal Call

Here we see that it is so valuable for the people of God to discover their own God-given mandate, passion, and directive on a personal level. While foundational we are all called to “go into the world” to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people, there are personal gifts, creativity and anointings that God puts on our lives that enable people to taste the goodness of the Lord in our various spheres of influence.

It is important to see the “foundational for all” aspect as well as the “personal to you” element that brings forth the fullness of effect for kingdom fruitfulness for us individually. A religious mind-set strains at a gnat and swallows the camel. This is the failure of one to see the desire of God in “specialty and creativity” in one’s life – but only having a boxed mindset in how the good news can be shared. This is when one adheres to traditions to the detriment of the “without limitation” aspect of God’s creative nature being released in the believer.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

It takes faith to pioneer into something that is unseen, new and different than what has been established in the past. Some still worship at the altar of the old – not having the prophetic foresight to see into the future possibilities. We must always be willing to do things differently, not being hung-up on the old ways. We should always honor the old things as it was good for that time, and possibly still useful for present, but also moving forward to prophetically pioneer into the new creative ventures that God desires to see in the earth – even through us.

Seeing the Unseen

After all, this is the prophetic spirit. Prophets see into the future. They prophesy of that which has not yet happened. This is also how God speaks that into existence that which doesn’t currently exist. In this time, He is desiring His people to come into this aspect of His nature – not only to speak things into existence but also the be the creative people He has made us to be. God is pouring out blueprints, ideas, and inventions to manifest His kingdom – these things will serve to glorify His Name in the earth.

As you tap into the creative nature of God you will find a freshness and freedom – even a breaking out of the old shell of religiosity that hinders and hampers your expression. God has created us to express. It is not that we ever quit expressing, but rather people end up expressing themselves in the wrong way. When we are tapped into the creativity expression it helps us to be in the flow of God’s Presence – helping us to express ourselves in the way that He intends.

God is good. He is creative. We know that the universe is constantly expanding, multiply and growing through the word God spoke so long ago. That is also God’s intention for us – to know His goodness, to keep growing, increasing, and expanding our borders. God never runs out of thoughts, never runs out of inspiration but is always pouring our revelation. Part of the blessing of being connected to Him is that we become an extension of His plans to reveal His glory in the earth.

His Vision for You

Know that God only needs yielded vessels. We are all created in His image and in the new creation there is unlimited potential. It really comes down to the degree that we are willing to yield ourselves, see into what is unseen and venture into the new.

What vision has God given you and what vision may He desire to pour into you that people might encounter His reality?

As you dwell in the secret place of His Presence, open your heart to fresh vision, the spirit of wisdom and revelation and being to take steps onto the waters of prophetic faith to see the glory of His kingdom revealed through your life.
