Learning to Navigate in the Spirit by Pam Clark

By Pam Clark
I hold no human being as perfect. The only One who ever was is Jesus and it's a daily path walk to get to know Him! Therefore, I have to seek Him and align with Him as best I know how. People look for the best at this, and often put them up as stars - which sadly can sometimes get competitive and which totally defeats things. It's up to us to make the divide from the world to the Spirit. But I don't find that just real easy all the time and sometimes I see things others don't see and I am sure vice versa! So the navigation is really ours alone, but there are helps along the way.

The Bible tells us not to get caught up in the winds and waves of doctrines because they are out there! This is where the "group think" presses in and the peer pressures can either help or get you off track! So this is where our personal maturity leans in to rightly divide and personally discern what is right - not just for us, but for others as well, because if we are Christians, we have a ministry!  And that is something that starts small and grows.

Jesus said to discern by the fruit, and we know (or should know) the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. That is discerning character and there is a lot in just those two verses!

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Are You Improving the Kingdom?

But there is even more, we also need to know the fruit of our labors. How are we improving the Kingdom? How are we increasing it? Are we even doing that, because we should be!  Do we know what that even means?  Is it just busy work?  No, of course not.

What is our calling, our destiny, our future?  All those things that people have so many questions and conferences about. But again the bottom line comes around to "Is God pleased?"  Our ministry is helping others get there.

For anyone who claims at all to be prophetic, this is a very serious issue, because as a visionary and a forerunner, people are looking to you. They are looking for ways to increase their fruitfulness, and honestly the seekers need to be blessers as well. Things will fail when the circle is not complete.

No man or woman or child is "perfect" but they can be pleasing. And as long as our first love is Jesus, and desiring His will for us AND for the Body, we will be okay. But it is always a place of soul searching and if you do that with the Scriptures, you are probably going to be okay, even with all of the winds and waves of doctrines.

The caveat is that He will be working on your soul as well, day to day. We will go through the hard places but later come out in a place that we earlier wished we could be, because He does work to answer our sincere prayers before Him.  Now He looks to see, will we be who we said we would or should be?

Again, that goes back to the daily prayers and many who have gotten shipwrecked have done so because they got caught up in the winds and waves. But never completely fear! Our God is good and if we do call upon Him, He will come and rescue us and set us on the path that is right for OUR lives.

Navigating to a Greater Place

Our goal is to hopefully one day attain the strength and steadiness we need to navigate the winds and waves so that we can come out to a greater place. This is the work of the Spirit in our soul and spirit.  It ONLY comes through fellowship with Him and surrender. Because with that surrender also comes the acceptance of the gifts and revelations He will give and impart if we will accept them there in that place of humility.

Our radar needs to not only be on our goals, but also on the goals of others too. People value power but there are two powers at work and at war with each other in this world. This is why Jesus said we must discern by the fruit.

The Body of Christ is not brand new. It's been around quite a while now and so we must be making some progress in places just to have even survived, much less advance. And we have advanced! But we don't need to take unnecessary losses, so keep seeking - every day, sometimes even every hour. There is a reward!

Some people are small and young in the Lord. Some people hurt small people. Again, no one is all wise, but no one should either be a bully because it will not meet approval with the Most High.  Correction is necessary; abuse is not.  We have to learn.  Let's look at ourselves too.  If you have good will, it will show eventually.

God has a path to greatness for everyone and it comes from serving Him. He does hear your prayers and He is at work answering them. Just have faith and believe! And put more stock in Him and His Spirit than you do in other people. If you wish a good thing, He wishes it with you! Just let Him be God.

Find your promise Scriptures and hold on! It's the Word that will get you through the storms. God's Word is living. It has the Breath of Life in it. Yes, you may get slammed down, we all do at times. But if we seek His Word - His Living Word, we will rise back up! You will learn to navigate!
