Apostolic Authority Established by Dr. Kluane Spake

By Kluane Spake
Jesus gave the apostles (delegated) authority. He said, "As the Father has sent me, so send I you (plural)." The first level of authority in the church began with the apostle. Jesus continuously taught them about real life and real situations. He demonstrated authority to them so that they could become the vehicle to bring forth the Message of the Kingdom (Mat. 10). And He taught them how to lead with authority by serving them ("But I've taken my place among you as the One who serves" Lk. 22:24). They were taught from the beginning to not showboat – but to serve others graciously.

Jesus delegated His authority to the apostles while on the earth. Then, He modeled how to use it. He prayed that the glory the Father gave to Him would be given to them – and that the actions of the apostles would further bring Him glory (Jn. 17).

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'ALL AUTHORITY (not some or just a portion) has been given to Me in heaven and on earth'" (Mat. 28:18, NKJV). Notice that TOTAL (ALL) authority was specifically given to these apostles.

"So, Jesus said to the apostles, 'Assuredly I say to you... you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel'" (Mat. 9:28 NKJV).

Paul said, "...(God) delivered us out of the authority (exousia, not power) of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love." (The AUTHORITY in Jesus' name legitimates (makes lawful or valid) the POWER to change from darkness to light) (Col. 1:13)!

Leading with Full Authority

The Lord gives them the authority to use His POWER! [1] True apostles lead with this full authority.

Even the Holy Spirit does not use His own authority. "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will NOT SPEAK OF HIS OWN AUTHORITY, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come" (Jn. 16:13-15).

True apostles realize that they have been given authority to USE God's power. They don't take credit for what God does. They didn't run around acting all superior and trying to say their ministry is better because certain miracles happen for them. No, they love people and serve them.

Authority gives practical and strategic answers.

Apostles must be able to endure lives of high stress. They know how to endure hardship (2 cor. 11:17, 1 Cor. 4:9).

Because they have authority, their lives are a demonstration. They do not fear others and refuse to compromise.

There is no FEAR – not of demons, shamans, witches, snakes, or false prophets, etc.

Authority gives unwavering boldness. There is no retreat. There is no principality that has been given any authority that could overpower the full authority that Jesus holds.

If you want to gain an apostolic mindset, don't waste time facing backward to fight. Move forward in strength and determination.

Don't stop long for mysticism, feathers, or chasing eerie dreams! Don't worry if people come against you. Don't give ground to the enemy – you TAKE ground.

Paul said to "Be enlarged." The word "enlarge" actually means to "Take over plots of land needed to be occupied!"

True apostles will make sure the Church that Jesus died for, survives.
