"The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters." (Psalms 29:3)

During a recent "Presence Encounter", which is an evening of worship, prayer and communion in our local fellowship, the Lord brought forth a word I would like to share. Most of the time I am a bit hesitant to present a word like this spoken in the first person, mainly because there is so much flying around out there that is supposedly a "Thus saith the Lord" and because of the human element of possibly hearing incorrectly.

Having said that, I believe He said that evening, "A new day is upon you, a new season, a new era." Then He said something that came in the form of words and also a mental picture. He said, "I have shifted My waves... I have accelerated the sound of My voice." We know that a voice consists of sound waves, and according to what the science of quantum physics is discovering, everything that has substance, at its' most elemental form is energy waves. Hebrews 1:3 declares that He is "upholding all things by the WORD of His power..." Also Colossians 1:17 says, "And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things CONSIST (cohere, are held together)."All things were not only created by His Word (in Genesis 1, God spoke and things were created...) but all things are truly HELD TOGETHER by His Word, by His Voice.

If indeed all things are essentially energy waves and are held together by His Word, then the way to change things is to alter the waves. As He spoke, "I have shifted My waves..." in my spirit I could see what appeared to be light/ sound/ spiritual energy waves radiating all around. The repercussion of these waves was that things began changing very rapidly. He said, "I have accelerated the sound of My voice" and it was like time itself began accelerating, even to the point where it no longer became relevant, producing an "Eternal NOW". All this happened as a result of His Voice.

He then took me to Psalm 29 and began to open it up to me. "The voice of the LORD is upon the waters..." (Psalm 29:3) As I meditated upon this verse in Psalms, my mind also went to Genesis 1:2-4, "And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light:and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."

The words translated as "Spirit of God" are Ruach Elohiym in Hebrew, meaning Breath of God. One element of the Breath of God is the Voice of God, as you can't have a voice without breath. I believe that in Biblical symbolism, the breath speaks of the "essence" of a thing. We can see this illustrated with Jesus and His disciples; "And when he had said this, he BREATHED on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:" (John 20:22)The disciples received His "Essence", His Spirit, as He breathed on them.

So here in Genesis we find the Breathing Essence of God, the creative Voice of God moving upon the face of the waters calling forth Light and separating darkness. In Biblical symbolism the "face" speaks of the nature or image; "And all of us, as with unveiled FACE,continued to behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being TRANSFIGURED into HIS very own IMAGE in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit." (2 Corinthians 3:18 Amplified Bible) Waters, of which our bodies are made up of about 70 percent, speak of our INNERMOST

being; "He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his INNERMOST being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water." (John 7:38)

What an incredible spiritual picture as it is being fulfilled in a people. The Breathing Essence of God, breathing His Essence into US... the creative Voice moving upon the very character of our innermost being, calling forth Light and separating darkness. Truly, the voice of the Lord is upon our waters!

"...the God of glory THUNDERETH: the LORD is upon many waters." (Psalm 29:3) In Biblical symbolism, glory speaks of Father's character and nature, and thunder speaks of judgment. How befitting that the God of CHARACTER would bring forth judgment upon that which is NOT of His nature. However, the prevailing thought when it applies to judgment is that of punishment or retribution. This is clearly NOT New Covenant understanding, for 2 Corinthians 5:21 is quite plain as it states, "For He hath made Him to BE SIN FOR US, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." The New Covenant emphasis of judgment is not punishment or retribution, rather the emphasis is that of SEPARATION. Jesus came into the world as a Separator!"Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the EARTH..." (Matthew 10:34 Amplified Bible) As we've discussed before, earth is symbolic of carnality. Jesus definitely did not come to bring peace to our carnality! "I have not come to bring peace, but a SWORD.For I have come to PART ASUNDER..." (Matthew 10:34-35 Amplified Bible) He came to bring a Sword to our carnality! This sounds like what we just read in Genesis 1:4, "...and God divided the light from the darkness."

We also have a spiritual picture of thunder in the particular time frame we are living in right now; "And it came to pass on the THIRD DAY in the morning, that there were THUNDERS and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the VOICE of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled." (Exodus 19:16) Indeed this is the morning, the dawning of the first Light of this new day, the millennial Third Day from the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There are definitely spiritual thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount! You see, thunder also speaks of Biblical mysteries that can only be discerned in the "higher frequencies."

Allow me to explain; "Then came there a VOICE from heaven... The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel SPAKE to him." (John 12:28-29) Here we have two groups of people who apparently heard the same sound. However, it would seem that some heard a voice- the distinction of words, and some just heard thunder, an indecipherable rumbling. Some had "ears to hear," some were "dull of hearing." Just a few verses previous to the messenger bringing the Word of the Lord to Mary, there is a very similar message for Zacharias concerning the birthing of John. If you remember the account, it would seem that Zacharias had been listening to other frequencies- opinions of men, fear and unbelief, prejudice and ignorance. Dull of hearing, he had lost sensitivity to the HIGHER frequency of the Word, to him it was just thunder. Even today, not all have ears to hear. Like Zacharias, some just hear thunder, an indecipherable rumbling.

"The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon." (Psalm 29:4-5) As thunder speaks of judgment upon that which is NOT of His nature, I believe there is at least one area that must be dealt with that is of paramount importance if we are to go into the next dimension in God- the "cedars of Lebanon" must be broken. And what, you ask, do the "cedars of Lebanon" represent? "For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is PROUD and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are HIGH and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up... And the LOFTINESS of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day." (Isaiah 2:12-14, 17) This may be a universal "bringing low," but I believe it especially applies to those in leadership, or who desire to be in leadership, in the Body of Christ.

Earlier I said that as He spoke, "I have shifted My waves..." in my spirit I could see what appeared to be spiritual energy waves radiating all around and the repercussion of these waves was that things began changing very rapidly. I believe that one of these changes will be a "bringing low" of the "loftiness" of our spirituality. I am especially concerned for those whom the Lord has been gracious enough to impart a deeper revelation of present truth. Among many of us who are of the Kingdom/ Third Day/ Most Holy Place/ Feast of Tabernacles mentality (whatever box we prefer to be put in), there almost seems to be an inherent propensity toward elitism and loftiness. Just because Father sees fit to give a deeper revelation of present truth to someone, that does NOT make them any greater in the Kingdom! Just because someone is able to discern the "higher frequencies" of Biblical mysteries, that does not give them an exalted position!

Yes, I am well aware of Ephesians 2:6 as it states, "And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus." (Amplified Bible) However true spiritual authority causes us to be seated in heavenly places, yet with an attitude of humility. No flesh shall glory in His Presence!

We would do well to heed Peter's words as he pens, "And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away... and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:" (1Peter 5:4-6) The chief Shepherd, Christ, desires to appear within a people for His glory, and what are we to do with our crown of glory that fadeth not away? "The four and twenty elders FALL DOWN before Him that sat on the throne, and worship Him that liveth for ever and ever, and CAST their CROWNS before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created." (Revelation 4:10-11)

I can hear the "thunder" approaching rapidly... may we be prepared by laying down the "loftiness" of our spirituality.

"The voice of the LORD DIVIDETH the flames of fire." (Psalm 29:7) Indeed, this is a day of separation, of dividing carnality from spirituality, and I believe this especially applies to those who hold places in ministry. The book of Hebrews refers to those in ministry as flames of fire; "..Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire." (Hebrews 1:7) In case you are wondering, the word translated as "ministers" in that verse is leitourgos in Greek, its' meanings include- a public servant, that is, a functionary in the Temple or Gospel, a minister. I believe this is speaking specifically of those who hold places in ministry, although in practice ALL Christians are in "full time ministry." I said all that to say this- I believe that the Voice of the Lord is DIVIDING the "flames of fire." Yes, Father is bringing a unity among ministries, but He is also DIVIDING the "flames of fire" in the process.

Ministries That Exalt Men Will Implode Upon Themselves!

Ministries that exalt Christ as preeminent in all things will explode in impact and effectiveness in their spheres of influence. The day of Christian "celebrities" and "superstars" is gone. Yes, God will still use strong leaders, but all "self promotion" is subject to the "thunder" of God. "And He sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man DESIRE to be FIRST, the same shall be LAST of all, and servant of all." (Mark 9:35)

How many pastors have prayed for "revival" with the subtle motivation of making a name? Most every church that I know of has had a prophecy that "revival" would break out in their church, and then spread from there all over the world, and that people would flock to the "place where it all started." Can't we see the subtle pride in all that? The truth really IS that Father indeed desires that "revival" (for lack of a better term) would break out in EVERY church, and spread all over the world, and nobody would really care WHERE it started! Let us make sure that we are on the side of humility as "the voice of the LORD DIVIDETH the flames of fire."

"The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh." (Psalm 29:8) The the wilderness of Kadesh, or Kadesh-Barnea means "desert of a fugitive." A fugitive is one who was once apprehended, but now has escaped and is on the loose. "...I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:12) I dare say that there are many who were at one time totally apprehended of Christ, but now due to offense in Church, circumstances, selfish desires, self promotion, an independent spirit, etc. are wandering "on the loose" so to speak. This place of being a spiritual fugitive is a wilderness of wandering where the focus is on getting our needs met. How many Christians do you know that wander from place to place because "We were not getting our needs met at the last Church?" I believe that the Voice of the Lord is shaking the wilderness of Kadesh!

It is also important to note that from Kadesh-Barnea Moses sent out twelve spies to spy the land. We know that these spies brought back an evil report, Joshua and Caleb were the only ones who brought a good report that agreed with what God had already said. Influenced by the evil report, the people abandoned all hope of entering into the Promised Land and they remained a considerable time at Kadesh-Barnea. Because of their unbelief, they were consigned to wander in the wilderness. The wilderness of Kadesh also speaks of that mentality of being influenced more by circumstances than by what God has already said. It is the place of UNBELIEF. "So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief." (Hebrews 3:19) Unbelief will keep you from your promise. The Amplified Bible states it clearly, "So we see that they were not able to enter [into His rest], because of their unwillingness to adhere to and trust in and rely on God [unbelief had SHUT THEM OUT]."  (Hebrews 3:19 Amplified Bible)The Voice of the Lord is shaking the wilderness of Kadesh to remove our unbelief!

"The voice of the Lord makes the hinds bring forth their young, and His voice strips bare the forests, while in His temple everyone is saying, Glory!"(Psalm 29:9 Amplified Bible) The Voice of the Lord is procreative. His desire is to continually birth a New Thing in the earth, "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?." (Isaiah 43:19) Yes, we are to live with a sense of continual EXPECTANCY, however expectancy must produce a spiritual birthing. An expectant woman that never gives birth will eventually die."Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God." (Isaiah 66:9) The Voice of the Lord is calling forth the birthing of a Holy Thing in this day!

"His Voice strips bare the forests..." In Biblical symbolism, forests/ wood speaks of people. May His Voice strip us bare of our religious "cover up" that we may be naked and not ashamed before Him. May all that is not of the nature and character of Christ be stripped away from us. The result of this stripping away is that, "In His temple everyone is saying, Glory!" WE are His Temple, and His Temple was designed to bear His Glory, which is His nature and character! May our corporate declaration be thus;"And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is FULL of His glory." (Isaiah 6:3)

Back to where we started at the first of this writing, at the evening of our recent "Presence Encounter", after He began to open up Psalm 29 to me, I believe He went on to say this: "I am bringing a culmination, a consummation of all that I have purposed from everlasting. All of history as you know it has been building for this culmination. All creation has been groaning in anticipation. THIS is MY appointed time! This is MY HOUR! This is YOUR HOUR! Go forth! Go forth! Go forth!"
