The Need for Accuracy Part 1 by Roberts Liardon

By Roberts Liardon
Colossians 1:9 (Amplified) "..we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things]."

We must understand the importance of the verse above. The writer of this epistle makes it clear he prays for one goal in every believer. Spiritual understanding, discernment and insight all point to this one word: accuracy. Today as never before, there is such a need for accuracy in the body of Christ. Goodhearted works and intentions can't produce it. Even willing, zealous believers without accuracy cannot be productive.

Today as never before, there is such a need for accuracy in the body of Christ. Goodhearted works and intentions can't produce it. Even willing, zealous believers without accuracy cannot be productive. If we desire to be on the cutting edge with God, it is absolutely useless to labor without it.

Accuracy is so simple. It is hearing the will of God, and following it exactly. It is not turning to the left or right; it is not deviating from His plan at the opinion of another; it is not motivated by fear or intimidation.

Walk in Accuracy

If you are called into the five-fold ministry, accuracy must also come into your gift. Different ministry gifts focus on different aspects of the Word. But no matter our focus, we must understand that in every call, in every gift, there are times when God will do specific things. We must understand how to walk in the accuracy of the moment. We must do what the Lord says; exactly as He says it. For example, sometimes in evangelism, you will have to be specific with some people to win them. You can't always just "throw the net" and be accurate. Our goal is to accomplish the project before us.

The strength of anointing in this decade is a very serious subject. It's not to be taken lightly. God will grace us because we are learning and trying. But He only winks for a season. As we mature, there will come a choice: to either revert in a lifestyle of fear and maintenance; or progress to a lifestyle of accuracy and accomplishment.
