The Power of Prayer By Paula White

What a shame it would be if we chose to simply "stay put" and never live out the will of God. God has called you not to simply "exist" in a spot on earth and wait to go to heaven - He has called you out of darkness into His glorious light, to show the praises of His glory. He has fullness for you, a destiny for you, a plan for you! (Jeremiah 29:11)

The plan of God pivots at certain moments - moments in which suddenly, you are thrust from one place to another. I call them "defining moments."

God did not take the people of Israel straight to the Promised Land because the direct path to the Promised Land would require many battles, and God knew His people were not yet strong enough for that kind of fight; also, God wanted to process His people and show them His miracles and His character in order to build their trust in Him - trust they would need later when they had to fight the battles to gain dominance in the Promised Land.

Don't Miss a God Moment

In order to not miss a God moment, we have to discern a God moment. When God does a thing, it looks different and distinct. You have to have a spirit of discernment and be sensitive to what the Spirit of God is doing. There is no way for you to be connected this way except through the power of prayer. You have to be a person of prayer in order to sense what God is doing behind the scenes, and see when the landscape of your life begins shifting, when to move.

To people of prayer, God will release prophetic insight and cause them to prophetically intercede on their own and others' behalf. God will enable people of prayer to "download" heaven, by His grace and through the fervency of their prayers. To people of prayer, God will release words of wisdom and knowledge to be able to deal wisely with all situations they find themselves in. In order to move forward in the kingdom, you must be a person of prayer. Let's read the scripture:

"This, then, is how you should pray:  "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us today our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'" Matthew 6:9-13

Tapping into the Will of God

God has done His part. When Jesus died on the cross, He said, "It is finished." So why isn't the will of God being seen? How do I tap into the will of God for my life and see it come to pass?

God sits outside of time in the eternal realm. He has placed eternity in our hearts. Jesus said the kingdom is within you. How do I manifest a "God moment?" How do I manifest a God-promise? The Bible is a legal, binding contract that tells us how to live out the fullness of God's plan. Stay tuned this month as we dissect the treasures of God's Word and how to be powerful people of prayer!

As victorious believers who do not settle for "almost," or "okay" living, we must communicate with God in prayer, and be determined not to live beneath our covenant privileges, and walk in the fullness of God's provision, power and plan! We can only do this by being people of prayer, connected to Almighty God through His Son Jesus Christ, and having strong, secure fellowship with Him who cares for us! Stay with me this month as I share what God has put in my spirit for the body of Christ today… to be powerful people of prayer.

God bless you!
