Have you ever felt completely paralyzed, wondering which way to go? I have. I remember a time, a couple of years ago, when Steve and I were hiking. A storm was brewing in the sky, and somehow, we kept choosing the wrong path back to our car. We ended up wandering in the forest for a couple of hours. We definitely got our steps in—that's for sure! Getting lost in the woods is one thing, but it can feel far more challenging when we feel lost in life. Perhaps we feel paralyzed, wondering which way is the right way to move forward.
"And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book: but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name" (John 20:30-31). "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men" (John 1:4). "For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself" (John 5:26).
In a world full of noise with constant notifications, endless commentary, and conversations that often feel more like competitions, true listening is becoming a lost art. We hear just enough to respond, but rarely enough to understand. We listen long enough to defend our point, but seldom long enough to discern someone's heart. Yet throughout Scripture and in the life of Jesus, we see a different way: the way of holy listening.
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 When our Lord stood in the synagogue in Nazareth and read from the book of Isaiah, He proclaimed the acceptable year of the Lord and stopped reading just before the words, "and the day of vengeance of our God." In doing so He showed us how to rightly divide the Word of God as today's Scripture, 2 Timothy 2:15, instructs us to do. He made it precisely clear that we are in the age of grace.
Picture this - you awaken early one morning and head to the kitchen to grab your favorite beverage. You decide to slip outside and watch the sun overtake the dark horizon. Quietly, you unlock the door and tiptoe towards the lounger. As you sink into the cushion, you observe a small fire out on the water's edge. Curious at such a sight, you step into your flip flops and head towards the flickering light. What could that be? As you approach you see a man sitting there. Smiling, he looks up and asks, "would you care to join me for breakfast?" At that moment you realize it's Yeshua-Jesus! Although stunned for an instant, you excitedly reply, "YES, of course!"
There are seasons in life when the ground under our feet seems to give way. Maybe it's a door you expected to open that remains shut. Maybe it's a dream delayed. Or a promise only partially fulfilled. The emotional terrain is unfamiliar: fear, doubt, frustration, even despair. But in that uncertain soil, God is still at work—planting seeds of faith, stretching our trust, teaching us to lean in.
Every shaking season carries two possibilities: collapse or calling. To the world, disruption feels like disaster. To those with Kingdom eyes, it's God clearing away what cannot stand to reveal what cannot be shaken. Setbacks aren't the end—they are divine invitations into the greater, the unseen, and the unshakable. Jesus warned that wars, pestilence, division, and betrayal would mark the times. He didn't say these things to stir fear—He said, "Do not be concerned." Why? Because every shaking is both exposure and opportunity.
Everyone wants to know what The Lord is saying. Believers search the internet for prophetic words, messages, sermons, and videos for a word from God. We read about encounters and supernatural experiences that others had with the Holy Spirit and wonder why we don't have the same. Those people who are truly hearing from God paid a high price for what they have. They cultivated the anointing by spending time with Jesus in the secret place. They died to the things of this world and immersed themselves in His Presence.
Have you ever felt like God didn't hear you when you prayed or as if he's forgotten you and won't answer you? Maybe you've felt like when you pray, it wasn't God's will to answer your prayers. Well, I want to encourage you to hold on and keep believing because God will remember His covenant regarding you.  God's timing is not always aligned with our own, but His promises are unchanging.
The way the Bible is written makes some Scriptures difficult to understand without studying other Scriptures. This is especially true in the Old Testament. Some Scriptures don't always give a clear meaning on the surface but require some digging into to discover the intent of what is stated. Paul admonished Timothy, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (II Timothy 2:15)
