"But
my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ
Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
Know this! Life gives you many things on your plate. One
thing is certain, sometimes, life is not fair. There is difference in everything
that you get and what others get. Here comes the question of choices. I have
come across people who were dealt a very good hand by life but they felt no
reason to be happy. I have also come across people who played with a very bad
hand and won the game.
We all have choices. Your choices
sometimes make you happy but other times they make you sad. What you choose to
do and how you chose to act affects your immediate life and your long range
goals. You can make some changes in your choices and learn to love life again.
The first thing that you must do is decide that you want to be happy. Being
happy is not a given with life. Everything that you do plays a part in your
happiness. When you decide to look at the good things in your life, you are on
the way to finding your true happiness. You must learn to seek out those people
who always seem to be upbeat, positive people. If possible, you should stay far
away from those who are always "down in the mouth', unpleasant or
chronically unhappy. It is extremely hard to learn to love life if you are
surrounded by those who do not.
Choices Determine How You Feel
Part of making choices depends
upon your own attitude and whether or not you are generally positive. By tuning
into how you feel if you are lonely, dejected, and unhappy or even being
ignored, you can learn if there might be better options for your behavior and
some way to choose to act in any of those situations. Choices you make will
determine how you feel at any given time. The friends we enjoy being around
make personal decisions to be happy and not be "down in the mouth".
You can do the same thing by watching others who always seem happy and by
making conscious efforts to keep ourselves in a happy place and not let the
little things bug you or make you react negatively. Being a positive person is
a choice that takes time to learn to do but becomes easier the more times you
do it. You can actually learn to love life simply by making choices that make
you happy and choosing to react in a happy way.
