Pioneers of Transformation by Bret Wade

By Bret Wade
I love vision! I love being able to project where the Lord is going based on the prophetic insight He gives. Often we carry the vision in us for years before having the understanding. Yet all the while it is a source of contemplation before the Lord. At times the Lord reveals things to us about us. But at the same time, He is actually revealing to us that we are part of a larger company of people that He is raising up. I've been one of those who have been hidden for years in process yet in the public view. I'd like to share an insight from the Lord's perspective. Often we go through process and it's easy to lose sight of the objective and the expected outcome of the process. All process is preceded by the promise. God gives us a promise and then the process begins to prepare us to live in that promise in His presence. The process trains us and delivers us simultaneously.

In 2011, I had a brief vision of an icebreaker ship breaking up ice. It was out front breaking up and crushing the ice that would easily destroy the hulls of the other ships following. Icebreakers always go before the others. Those following do not have to break through the ice. It's already broken. The path they're to follow in has been opened by the one designed to breakthrough.

I knew the Lord was speaking to me about myself at the time. But at the beginning of this year, the Lord started speaking to me about those He was releasing whom He had been preparing just like He had me. He spoke even as I was being thorough to bring closure to the last phase of vision and ministry and being released to step into the launching of a new vision and assignment.

According to Wikipedia, "an icebreaker is a special-purpose ship or boat designed to move and navigate through ice-covered waters, and provide safe waterways for other boats and ships. For a ship to be considered an icebreaker, it requires three traits most normal ships lack: a strengthened hull, an ice-clearing shape, and the power to push through sea ice."

Notice the characteristics – strength, shape and power.  These are traits of processed apostolic pioneers. Adversity has strengthened them for the task they must be empowered to fulfill. They've been shaped on the potter's wheel for their effectiveness. They've been given a breakthrough anointing to press through when others quit.

"The signs, indeed, of the apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds." 2 Corinthians 12:12, YLT

The picture of the ox comes to mind with its strength to work until the job is completed. Oxen are muscled up to work beyond the breaking point of others as they lean into the harness to uproot and break ground. When they are done plowing, they are treading out the wheat. The apostolic anointing is a working anointing. It puts hands to the plow to break up the ground for the new. It endures what others do not. Let these pictures paint the parallels of what the Lord is revealing.

Here are some points that intrigue me. I offer these for your consideration.

Being Sent

Like Joseph, the Lord has sent pioneers ahead of His Body to prepare the way. They went into the Lord's process in their chains to be freed of strongholds. He's healing and delivering them from themselves. Their enemies have been given to them to destroy. They are now being released into the restoration of what is now theirs. They've walked out the entire process in detail to teach those coming behind them.

"He sent a man before them — Joseph — who was sold as a slave. They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the LORD tested him." Psalms 105:17-19, NKJV

From Success to Significance

They've learned the path of humility. They've learned the purpose for which they were sent is greater than they have imagined. They cannot go back to what they were doing successfully in a general manner any longer. It no longer works. They've been granted to walk in the grace of fulfilling the significant purpose for which they have been created, called and now chosen. They don't have to do everything that's generally expected and accepted anymore.

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." 1 Corinthians 15:10, NKJV

Debunking the Junk

Process does something that no other time in your life will. It clearly defines what works and what doesn't.  All the unnecessary religious activity is set aside for reality as we die and resurrect.  These apostolic pioneers are sifting through relevant doctrines of the Church that are vital for our moving forward. Dogma, which is based in Law, is being defined and left behind for Grace and Truth.

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." Galatians 2:20-21, NKJV

For Others

Pressing through the process while encountering and accepting your true self and having your enemies brought to you for their influence in your life to be destroyed has greater purpose than simply being free. It's also for those who will follow in the path that has been walked as a pioneer. Pioneers go where there isn't a path and they cut their way through and make it clear. Much like an icebreaker.

"Always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you." 2 Corinthians 4:10-12, NKJV

Releasing Pioneers of Transformation

As Joshuas, God is releasing His "Pioneers of Transformation."  They are coming on the scene to lead God's people into their Promised Land. But first the people must go through their wilderness to be purged of Egypt's ways. These Joshuas are ahead of them as icebreakers having broken up the ice for the others to know the way to follow. It's been made clear. God is preparing the way for his saints to be the sons that all of creation is groaning for. The lifestyle and culture of the Kingdom will be their paths. They will no longer eat at the table of religion. They will choose only to eat what Father sends.

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over." Psalms 23:5, NKJV

Here's to those who have been walking out their journey of process in becoming a "Pioneer of Transformation" feeling hidden and alone while pressing through oppositions. I salute you! Look behind you. The ice has been broken. Keep moving forward and preparing the way for others to inherit their transformation.  You were called to the kingdom for such a time as this! The cave is over! Possess!
