The Power of Unified Faith by John Belt

By John Belt
Agreement in prayer is one of the most powerful weapons we can use – such an amazing promise that Jesus gave us.  He told us that when we come together "in agreement" that He would be there in the midst of us. We should always want Jesus to be with us in this way.  When we come together in agreement God honors the prayer and brings forth the promise. Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

It is also revealing in the fact that God never designed us to do things on solely on our own, but wants us to do things united in love in faith.  When we focus on the things that unify, rather than things that divide, we can move forward together and watch God work. Usually the things that divide people are the most ridiculous things that don't even matter. We need to move forward together in wisdom – focusing on the things that do matter and finding unity there.

There is Such a Key in Unity

The magnitude of what God wants to do cannot be realized without it.  Find those places of agreement where faith rises in your heart and the hearts of those you engage with.  When men built the tower of babel they were unified, so much so that God said everything they did would succeed.

Genesis 11:5-6 "But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them."

How much more will God cause us to succeed as we unify for His purposes? God is looking to show Himself strong as we come together in unity for His purposes – believing Him to do extraordinary things.  Find someone you can agree with in prayer, believing for breakthrough in the areas that you or others need help in.  Continue to believe for bigger and better things for your life.  Jesus has come to give you abundant life – filled to the overflow where it spill out and over into the lives of others.
