Be Still! by Pam Clark

Work, work, work! Hurry, hurry, hurry! Hustle, hustle, hustle! Give, give, give! Go, go, go! Do, do, do! Produce, produce, produce! Look, look, look! See, see, see! Act, act, act! Activity can be a virtue, or a hyped up mode of operating, but what happened with just taking time with the Lord so that you can HEAR the still small Voice? People don't do that today like they used to. Too much of even Christianity is a hustle.

Activity can be a virtue, or a hyped up mode of operating, but what happened with just taking time with the Lord so that you can HEAR the still small Voice? People don't do that today like they used to. Too much of even Christianity is a hustle.

You really can hear God's Voice in the Garden, when you get still and get before Him. You can notice nature while you are doing that.

You aren't even trying to work it up to hear Him! You are just there, fellowshipping with Him and things are quiet and still. Songs can come to mind, and you worship. You really can hear Him speak to you.

There is a time period of reflection and you feel the Presence of the Holy Spirit settle upon you and balance you. You aren't being programmed, you are being adjusted to your acceptance (His acceptance of you) in the Beloved.

A lot of little grannies know it. A lot of contemplative intelligent men know it. Even most little children know it to some degree. You decompress to a relaxed state. You are made to be still, and to know that He is God.

God will give you a pace. It sounds like a Heartbeat. It can speed up or slow down like our natural heart does, but it is part of the same Body. It unifies you, circulating its soothing, healing flow through you. It is a good discipline, even for children! Some call it prayer.

The most fun (and healthy) people I know are those who can take TIME to ENJOY His Presence. You can relax and hear HIM talk! If you begin and end your day with this, you will be even richer still.

Isaiah 30:15 For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: "In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength."

Isaiah 32:17 The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.

1 Chronicles 22:9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

Job 20:20 Because he knows no quietness in his heart, He will not save anything he desires.

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.
