His Breath Releases Gifts
For many of you reading this message, there have been certain promises of the Lord in your heart, certain things in the area of dreams, visions, and even prophetic words, where you saw yourself ministering in certain aspects of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. And you may have touched on that or seen it, but this year there will be a fresh wind of the Spirit where the Lord will literally begin to endow those gifts, the desires of the heart, so that you will begin to see those things He has put so deep within you come about. The breath of God is going to bring life on those things.
Many of you have been in the preparation time, and now the Spirit of the Lord is bringing life to the very essence of the visions and dreams. And even those who have given up and haven't felt like they could believe for the promises for four or five years, there's going to be a fresh movement of the Holy Spirit, and they're going to believe. Even where hope has been deferred, there will be a new fountain that springs up out of their belly. Watch and see!
Another meaning of the breath of God is seen as "manifested Shekinah glory." And I felt like the Lord told me to tell His people for this New Year, "Get ready for Shekinah glory." Aren't you ready for Shekinah glory?
"Cool of the Day" Communion
In Genesis 3:8, it says that God walked with Adam in the cool of the day. The word "cool" there means "the wind of the Lord." I pray that, starting this moment, from this day on, every morning you wake up and you walk in the cool of the day. Don't you want to walk in the cool of the day with a fresh breath of the Lord?
In Proverbs 1:23 it says, "Surely I will pour out My Spirit on you; and I will make My words known to you." I believe that this is going to be a season where in the cool of the day He's going to give you divine instruction. Don't you want divine instruction in the cool of the day?
Second Corinthians 3:6 says that the Spirit gives life, and without the Spirit of God, the Bible has no life. But the moment He breathes on it, it becomes living Word. Don't you want this year for Him to breathe the breath of life on His Word so that it comes alive to you? I believe that you're even going to know certain layers of Scripture that you've studied out to two and three different layers, but now the Lord's going to awaken your heart to a whole new depth of His Word. I believe that we're in a season where the Word is going to become so new, so deep and so fresh that it's going to be like a cool drink in the morning to you.
I believe that He's going to ignite your heart as you read His Word. It's like you have an encounter afresh every morning with the Living Word. And with that, He's going to begin to divide between flesh and marrow, and He's going to show you what's ripping you off. You're going to come into such alignment that every time a truth is revealed and the plumb line of the Spirit is released in your life, truth is revealed in your inward parts. And you're going to embrace that truth, and it's going to cause you to be positioned where you're going to catch the next wind, and you're even going to go to higher heights!
Creative Miracles in the Breath
Psalm 33:6 says, "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made (created), and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth." By the breath of His mouth comes creative power. When you feel the wind of the Holy Spirit, creative miracles happen. Remember that on Pentecost there was the sound of a rushing wind, and that was the movement of the Holy Spirit. Psalm 104:30 says, "You send forth Your Spirit, they are created, and You renew the face of the earth." So, you were created by the movement of the Holy Spirit.
I believe that we're going to begin to recognize the wind of the Holy Spirit when He wants to move in creative miracles. Part of the wind of the Holy Spirit this year is going to be a greater release of creative miracles. Get ready! I believe that we're going to have these times where people are going to get healed, just like that. We're seeing it now more and more.
I was recently in California, where I was preaching, and I was not even talking about healing, when something hit the room. And the next thing you know, people were getting healed. How many of you want to see the wind of the Holy Spirit come and do creative miracles?
Zeal of the Lord Stirring Within
Haggai 1:14 says, "The LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel...and the spirit of Joshua...and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God." Get ready for a great stirring up by the Spirit of God! God "stirred up" the wind of the Lord, and it caused a stirring. The stirring there literally means, "the breath of God."
My friend Steve Mitchell recently showed me that in 2 Timothy 3:16, where it says the Word of God was written through the inspiration of the Lord, if you look in the Amplified Bible, it says the breath of God inspired the Scriptures. Wouldn't you like for the Lord to breathe on the logos for you and change it to rhema?
I decree over your life that this year will be an amazing acceleration by the wind of the Holy Spirit for those things that you were created to function in and fulfill, by the zeal of the Lord in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 9:6-7 says that the zeal of the Lord will bring forth His Kingdom. And His zeal brings forth the prophetic utterances that He stirs up within us, just as Jesus describes in John 6:63: "The words that I speak are not of the flesh because the flesh profits nothing. But the words I speak are by the Spirit that brings life."
Don't you want the Lord to use your mouth this year? Don't you want to be the mouthpiece of the Lord this year? I have my ear tuned to Heaven. I'm not going to be a mouthpiece for doubt and unbelief. I'm not going to be a mouthpiece for anything in the realm of the natural or what the enemy is saying. I'm a mouthpiece, I'm a trumpet, I'm a proclaimer, and I'm hearing the word of the Lord by the Spirit of the Lord! And He's busy about accomplishing the things I decree, because I'm not just saying something to say it. The words I speak are by the Spirit of the living God! Don't you want to speak out of that realm? Don't you want a word that breaks through and breaks out? Just tell yourself, "My shout's going to count."
Isaiah 9:6-7 also speaks a lot about the government of God, and like I said in my previous article, we are going to see a greater alignment of the government of God this year. But it will be done by Isaiah 9:7 - the zeal of the Lord.
He's going to render a verdict saying, "Restore back what was stolen!" Don't you want His divine justice to bring recovery this year? Isaiah 42:13 paints a great picture of the zeal of the Lord: "The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies." His zeal is being stirred up like a mighty wind right now. And what's going to be stirred up? The zeal of the Lord is; He's going to be stirred up. See, it's the fresh movement of the Holy Spirit when He says, "I'm being stirred up."
The Lord's being stirred up with His zeal, and He's going to shout out, and it's going to cause the enemies to be scattered! Don't you want the Lord to be stirred up? His Word says that out of His nostrils He breathes and divides the oceans. Don't you want the Lord to breathe on your behalf? The breath of God is amazing!
You Have the Breath of God in You!
I've been teaching that when you get born again, you don't just get a new beginning - you become a new creation. You are literally a brand new creation. You become part of a whole new creation, and you're not part of the Adam line anymore.
In Genesis 2:7, in the Septuagint, it says that the breath of God came into man, and that same word for "breath" is only used one other place in the Bible: It's the same word used in John 20:22 where Jesus breathed on the disciples, and they received the Holy Spirit. That was the beginning. And just like God did for the first Adam, He does for the second creation, too. You have a breath of God in you!
The breath of God means He's in you. Vigor, courage, strength, renewal, prophetic gifting, and logos to rhema revelation is in you because the Holy Spirit is in you! You can feel it when He stirs you, like it says in Haggai 1:14, and you feel like you can't even contain it! And you just begin to shout to the Lord, "Oh God!" It's Him rising up from deep within the inner man. Your mind can't comprehend it, but it's the hunger and the depth of His Spirit calling to you; it's the place where you're so longing for Him, so lovesick, and so into the place of pressing into the Lord. You're just so stirred up, and you begin to say just like Jeremiah 33:3, "Oh God!" And He answers you, and He shows you something that you did not know before about Himself.
The zeal of the Lord is the perfect cure for a lukewarm spirit. If we're in a spiritual stupor in the land, it's what will awaken us to see His glory and His majesty as King Jesus. It will awaken us to be in awe of Him, and we'll walk in a place of giving Him honor on a day to day basis. His zeal will awaken those who have been bound by the spiritual stupor of being hypnotized by the conditions of the natural realm.
We need an awakening of the zeal of the Lord to awaken us out of our stupor and give us fiery hearts for Him! It will to break open deaf ears, melt wax, and help us hear and obey Him. It's not man's zeal, not traditional zeal, but zeal that can only be imparted by the Holy Spirit. Don't you want a fresh impartation of the zeal of the Lord like John Wesley of old? It was said he had a fire in his eyes! And that fire comes from beholding the One whose eyes are flames of fire! You can never be the same again, and you can never go back after you've beheld His glory. Don't you want that kind of awakening of the zeal of the Lord?
Army Lifting Up a Standard
The Amplified Bible has an interesting wording for Isaiah 59:19, "So (as a result of the Messiah's intervention) they shall (reverently) fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard..."
When the Lord raises up a standard, He finds a people who will align and position themselves in accordance to His impartation of higher wisdom of the call of God - a mandate for a generation - and then the wind of the Holy Spirit blows and lifts them up higher. Don't you want to be one that the Lord uses in this season, where He lifts you up to be a standard in the land? I want to be a standard! I don't want to just be a sound. I want my life to be an example to many by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Remember, from Isaiah 40, you're going to mount up as an eagle. You've been in transformation, and you're about to get that fresh coat of anointing. All the other levels of anointing were just in preparation for this! That's what He told me. We can't be in awe of the realm of the signs and wonders. Those things are just preparing us for something even greater - when the One comes and makes our places His dwelling place! Don't you want to see that kind of glory? I do.
I want meetings where He's just here! I want people that have never even been in church to walk in and KNOW they've entered into the house and the presence of the Lord. Raise up a standard! But I'm saying, "Here I am. Use me." Hear the cry of the land; the earth itself moans. Cities cry out, but He says, "I'm the Lord of the harvest. Pray that I would have harvesters, I would send out laborers" (see Luke 10:2). I don't know about you, but I'm one of those guys saying to the Lord, "Here I am; send me." Just raise your hand and say, "Here I am; send me," to the Lord.
Fresh Second Wind
Isaiah 52:2 tells us to shake off the dust, to rise up out of the dust and put on strength. The fresh wind of the Holy Spirit does just that. Remember, you were created out of dust by the movement of the Holy Spirit breathing on it! And you rose up. The breath of life was breathed into you. Aren't you ready for another breath of God to hit us?
According to Scripture, revival is a fresh, second breath. Just read Acts 3:19-21 and see. It's a second wind. Have you ever run, gotten tired, but then you caught your second wind, and then you just could run and run and run? Aren't you ready for your second-wind? It will take you higher so you can do more than what you could ever do alone, because it will enable you to soar with the Lord. He's raising up a standard in the land. He could do it Himself, but He chooses to use you and me. It blows my mind! He's taking the ordinary and doing the extraordinary.
The Bible says that the spirit of a man knows himself; humility is walking in the realm that you're overwhelmed and awed that God so favors you, that He abides within you and upon you. It causes you to walk in humility, and you treasure His presence more than you do anything else in the world! The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the lust of pride can't get you because you've been captivated so deeply within the inner man by Him in a way that the mind can't comprehend. But you're like Jesus - your delight is Him, the fear of the Lord. When you get a breakthrough in certain areas of your life, it happens when you love the Lord more than you do the sin.
Rushing Streams of Breakthrough!
Let's continue on with more of Isaiah 59:19, "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him (the enemy) and put him to flight (for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives)."
It's so amazing that the breath of the Lord put the enemy to flight by coming like a rushing stream that He blew with His breath! This thought ties in well with a story from the life of King David. In 2 Samuel 5, David had been in the wilderness, and the Lord had been teaching him to inquire of the Lord for His counsel and heart in every situation. We need to do the same to finish our race well. I'm asking the Lord to help me to stay straight on my calling and to keep me on track. I want my life to bring honor to Him on a day to day basis, so I ask Him to make the crooked places straight and go before me. Don't you want the Lord to go before you?
So in like manner, David had been waiting on the Lord, inquiring of Him for a breakthrough in this passage. After he got the breakthrough, he said in 2 Samuel 5:20, "The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water."
Remember that I told you the Lord is going to raise up a standard, and He's going to cause the enemy to be put to flight? This is what he's talking about right here in 2 Samuel, that the breath of God, the wind of God, will drive a rushing stream to go against the dam of the enemy and break it wide open for us! Don't you want that kind of breakthrough? David even named the place a Hebrew word that means "my breakthrough came like rushing water." So again, we see rushing water bringing a breakthrough, blown by the breath of God, scattering His enemies!
The breath of God is going to be released this year. But don't you want the Lord to release it for the whole United States? How about for a generation? I'm asking for a generation! I'm asking for all over this country, that those who have been in secret, those who have been prepared, those who have been in that place that He's purposed, that now the rushing water's going to come forth, and it's going to break open and cause the enemy to be put to flight. And it's going to raise up a standard in the land! Don't you want to be part of that?
I have faith that God's going to come forth on your behalf like a rushing wind, like a rushing stream, and He's going to break through every resistance of the enemy for you. Have you ever seen rushing water being driven by the wind? Have you ever seen even on a movie when floodwaters are coming, and it comes right at a dam and hits the dam? When it's broken through, you get a breakthrough, and there's no way to patch the dam back up! I'm not asking for you just to have a little breakthrough. I'm asking for the Lord to break that thing into pieces!
I'm asking for breakthrough for your destiny, for the call of God for your families, for a standard in the land, and every area of breakthrough for you. I'm asking that this would be a year of strength, vigor and courage for you; for new life and new prophetic flows. He's going to raise up the standard and put the enemy to flight by driving the rushing stream with the breath of His lips, with the breath of His mouth. The breath of His nostril caused even the Red Sea to part. Don't you want that kind of breakthrough?
What Will it Look Like?
I'm telling you, we're about to see it happen where we just walk by a wheelchair and the weight of the Spirit on us will cause them to get up out of the wheelchair. Don't you want to see that kind of move? I do! I'm telling you, I dream dreams where the only thing I do is go into a place and stand and invite His glory. I mean, I long for those days! Help me, O Lord! Do whatever You've got to do! But I also want to be able to go in a place and be a gate for the King of glory to come on through. Maybe one of us will be invited to speak at a high school where they say, "You can't talk about religion"; so, we'll just stand up in front of the kids and say, "Jesus," and you watch the place get hit by the wind of God!
Many times in Church history when revival breaks out, they say it started with just a group of people praying and beginning to believe for the unbelievable. It only takes a people who begin to look with expectancy. It only takes a few. There's power in agreement. Have you ever heard about how in modern times in different places around the world, people would be praying, and then a supernatural wind hits the place? And the next thing you know, 100,000 people get saved! I'm ready for the wind of the Holy Spirit!
Come, Holy Spirit, like in the day of Pentecost of old; bring a fresh baptism of fire and a fresh movement of creative miracles, signs and wonders that attest to Jesus Christ!
Closing Prayer for Impartation
O Lord! I ask for every person reading this message to receive impartation from the Spirit of the living God - a fresh breath of life that will shake off the dust in every area of their lives and bring alignment. Where we're actually operating out of unbelief and doubt, would You help us with our unbelief and doubt. You say that You want truth in our inward parts. Holy Spirit, give us impartation! Release that fresh breath that it talks about in Acts 3, that we would know a second wind.
I pray that He would release the rushing stream that's being driven by the breath of God that brings breakthrough! I pray for those who have been waiting for the fullness of the Promise. And I pray that just like the disciples of old as they waited in the upper room, that we would hear the sound of the mighty rushing wind.
I pray that for your family, for your ministry, and for your life. I pray for every aspect of your life, that this year you would literally mount up as an eagle because of the wind of God. I pray that you would soar this year more than you've ever soared before. I pray that you would not grow weary in doing good. I pray that you would know a new strength; a new courage. I pray that you would be a clarion call for many. I pray God would give you impartation, and you would know a fresh zeal of the Lord. But I pray that you'd know a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit, that every morning the flame would grow brighter and brighter as the brilliancy of His glory would go forth to the nations.
I pray you will be amazed at how the Lord uses you this year. I pray for the wind of the Holy Spirit to move in your meetings, in your prayer time, in your prayer gatherings, and in your prayer studies. I pray that even when you gather with just three or four people, that He would come like a wind in the midst of you.
I pray that right now there would be a fresh wind released for your household, for your mighty army, that any dead, dry bones that haven't been raised up into who they are, that the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit would be released, and they would stand up - that the breath of God would go into them, awaken and break off spiritual stupor, awaken and cause deaf ears to hear.
God, You said You would confirm the message of the Kingdom with signs, wonders, and miracles. I pray tonight that You would release breakthrough in this place like David had as he stepped into his kingly anointing, that place of ruling out of Zion. That was a place that he ruled out of for 40 years. I pray that everybody reading this would fully step into that place and fully step into their land. And I pray, Father God, that every enemy would be scattered, every resistance would be broken through.
I pray and believe for that breakthrough movement of the Holy Spirit to be released to you! I pray you would feel a wind on your feet and that you would run swiftly this year. You're going to run swiftly this year! There's not going to be any weariness in your bones. In Jesus' name, Amen!
