This is an extreme important topic that will explain why we go through circumstances we do not want to go through and why judgment is so relevant.

I will take us to many scriptures that will explain what I mean by this topic.

First Job 36:8-12 "And if they are bound in fetters, held in the cords of affliction, then he tells them their work and their transgressions- that they have acted defiantly. He also opens their ears to instruction, and commands that they turn from iniquity. If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they do not obey, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge."

Here we see the reason for judgment! You shall return to the Lord God and the judgment over you and the grace leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4-5 "Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance.  But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring  up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God"

I will come back to these scriptures.

Hosea 5:13-15 "When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to King Jareb, yet he cannot cure you, nor heal you of your wound. For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, and like a young lion to the house of Judah.  I, even I, will tear them and go away; I will take them away and no one shall rescue. I will return again to My place till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek my face; in their affliction they will earnestly seek Me."

The Lord will disappear when we do not repent of our sins and offenses against Him. He will send affliction that we will come back to a heart that earnestly seeks Him. In our hearts there are many bad things.

The Lord talks about it in Mark 7:21-23 "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these things come from within and defile a man."

God Wants to Heal Your Wounds

All these things God has to get out of us. So He needs to send us afflictions and problems to let us see what is in our hearts. Even the wounds God talked about in Hosea 5 God wants and needs to heal and bring them back into memory so that He can heal them. We see this description of a wounded person in Isaiah 1:5b-6 "The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faints. From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and putrefying sores, they have not been closed or bound up or soothed with ointment."

Now I want to prove to you that He wants to heal your wounds and needs to come to the deepest places in your heart.

Hosea 6:1 "Come and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. "

Also in Hosea 7:1 "When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was uncovered..."  There are so many scriptures about this topic. I will give you some more.

Hosea 13:5-8 "I knew you in the wilderness in the land of great drought. When they had pasture , they were filled; they were filled and their heart was exalted; therefore they forgot me. So I will be to them like a lion; like a leopard by the road I will lurk; I will meet them like a bear deprived of her cubs; I will tear open their rib cage and there I will devour them like lion. The wild beast shall tear them."

The Lord will tear your heart to get all the filthy wounds and sins out of you. This is the judgment and discipline of God. That is why Solomon says in proverbs that a wise man will hear to the instructions of the wise and that you should use a rod of correction to get the people on the right way again.

In Hosea 14:4 you see the real intention behind all of that.  "I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, for my anger has turned away from him."

The Heart of the Lord

The Lord breaks our hearts that He can indwell us. He wants us to have His heart and to act like Him.  So when you ask yourself why you are in this situation ask the Lord what He wants to tell and what keeps Him to change this situation. Always ask the Lord why He does certain things in your life. Israel went 40 years through the desert but the way to the promised land was actually just 11 days. When we do not learn of the circumstances in our life maybe the Lord will bring  this same situation again to you until you learn what He wants to show you.

When you want to read more about it, here are some more scriptures:  Psalm 107, Deuteronomy  8, Isaiah 48, 10, Isaiah 57, 17-19, Ezekiel 16, Psalm 88 (This Psalm describes how you can feel in the deepest pit.), Joel 2, 12-13 and so on!

Let your heart become tender and soft that the high and exalted one can enter your heart and make you a friend of God.
