Over the past few weeks, I have had an insatiable desire for the fire of God, in my later years of life we may all often seek to become more acquainted with the things of God as we are being more conscious of eternity. As for me though this is not the reason.  I am just wanting to be made pure, regardless of its outcome. Our God is a consuming fire.

I was sitting at my desk one day. As I was seeking the Lord, I suddenly had this vision. I was feeling this strong presence of the Lord and sensing this fiery oily substance in my hands, my hands were cupped upwards like I was catching something.

Suddenly there was a vision of people lined up on this street, it was dark, but my attention was drawn to these people lined up on this street, it reminded me of a parade, but the people were not 2 or 3 deep, they were all in single file. As in the same fashion of the way I was holding my hands, these same people were cupping their hands upwards, but in their hands were things. When I asked the Lord why He was showing me this vision, this came to me.

My People are Holding Artifacts

"My people are holding before Me, artifacts. I replied, "artifacts?" "Yes, artifacts, things they hold before Me that I will not to bless!" said the Voice.

As soon as I saw this, there went before all these people standing on this street a flash of light of such an intense brilliance that it just went by as a flash of fire. As I looked at all these people they were now standing with all these ashes in their hands, they as well as I were amazed, more like perplexed.

Yet in my hands, I had this heavy oily substance, which was hot in my hands and as all this was transpiring, I heard this, "Many in this hour are holding before Me artifacts, they will be burned up by the fire of My purposes."

One definition of an artifact is something that is made by or connived by a human being with a view to a subsequent use. Within me I have always known both in scripture and practicality that in the realm of the moving and workings of the Holy Spirit, many times healing and the anointing has this sensation of an oily substance; often likened to a soft but constant heat that may manifest in my hands. This has happened through the years of my walking with the Lord; especially during times of seeing people healed.

Further Revelation

As I was rather taken back by this vision, I of course began to pray for a further revelation, as to my desire for more clarity in its intent. Yet, this saints, was just so real.

The next day I began my weekend with a usual call to my friend and close brother in the Lord, a teacher and humble servant of the Lord of some 60 plus years in the ministry. As well to my surprise he began to share something of a dream he had the night before. He said that he had dreamed he was in a big city, perhaps New York City, a place he was familiar with as he had served the Lord for a few years there. There were these people all going down these streets in this city. As these people were going down these streets, he had noticed that they were all going down these one way streets, as peculiar as that sounds, he said they were all going down to these dead ends.

Places in this city that had no way out or no connecting streets. He began to explain perhaps what he had felt and how it could be from the Lord. Then we began to share that these divine interruptions were given to us by the Holy Spirit to show us something of God's fire and its significance.

Clarity in the Matter

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 According to the grace of God which is given to me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let every man be careful how he builds on it. For any other foundation can no one lay than the one being laid, who is Jesus Christ. And if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, one's work shall be revealed. For the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try each one's work as to what kind it is. If any one's work, which he built remains, he shall receive a reward. If any one's work shall be burned up, he shall suffer loss. But he shall be saved, yet so as by fire.

Some weeks ago I was talking to a sister in the Lord who I know but I'm not that close to, just in some brief fellowship from short conversations after meetings when I was preaching. We had talked for about 2 hours in regards to the technique of how this barn that she wanted burned and how it had to be done professionally with the local fire department and a local contractor. Now mind you if I may interject, this sister had not known, that for weeks I had been studying in the Word, concerning the fire of God, nor anything about this vision from the Lord. However once I told her about this vision that had been revealed to me I could sense a hesitation and a short laugh coming from her (now this was a phone conversation).

As we continued to talk she commented on this scripture verse that she had been given from a new fellowship she had recently visited and had posted it on her refrigerator. As she read the ABOVE VERSES in 1 Corinthians 3, I began to weep. She had not known that this was the text in my study of the Word concerning the fire of God.

Now there was this voice within me during the vision that spoke to me, the Voice said, "Turn to Ezekiel 9 and 10."  I opened the Word to Ezekiel and this is what was there:

Ezekiel 9:2-4 And one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's ink horn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar. And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's ink horn by his side;

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

The Lords Intention

As this revelation continued from the Word, I began to see what I believe to be the Lord's intention for these closing hours in which we live, and yes I said hours! There is a cry from these men who are in a city being Jerusalem, there are 6 people, for the number 6 in the scriptures is often interpreted for man, however the voice said those that cried out a corporate expression of travail for the abominations done in the house (temple).

I will not bring these matters before you as the readers, yet would it not be revealed to you concerning this cry of the Spirit within our hearts for more of the purity of the operation of the Holy things of the Lord to be brought forth, rather than the mixture of man. We don't need a magnifying glass to look too deep in the house to see these characteristics. Yet there should be a crying out for that which is pure, that which is purified by the fire of His purging.

Ezekiel 10:2-4 And He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, and fill your hands with coals of fire from between the cherubs, and scatter them on the city. And he went in before me. And the cherubs were standing on the right side of the house when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court. And the glory of Jehovah rose from the cherub, over the threshold of the house. And the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of Jehovah's glory.

I would to further instruct you concerning this man in linen throughout Ezekiel, however that's another teaching perhaps, but the part underlined in the text above is interesting in the Hebrew; it gives this reference to hands as being in a cupped fashion, as if it meant to scoop up the fire off the altar. (This was what I was seeing in my hands as in the vision concerning those people in line holding artifacts before the Lord. I believe its message is to be two-fold.)

Purified By Fire

Those things we hold on to that may be as it were idols of things we hold dear in this hour; they may be goals, ministry, types of relationships, or our profession may need to be checked before they become ashes in the burnings of the Lord.

Isaiah 33:10-19 Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself. Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you. And the people shall be as the burning of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire. Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might. The sinners in Zion are afraid; (WAIT A MINUTE, SINNERS IN ZION?) fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burning? He that walks righteously, and speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of oppression, that shakes his hands from holding of bribes, that stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil; He shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off. Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? Where is the receiver? Where is he that counted the towers? Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.

These ashes could speak of another working of the Holy Spirit to not only consume the dross artifacts to ashes in our lives to preserve the integrity of the work of the Holy Spirit. As we present these things before the Lord in sacrifice He will accept them, for:

Mark 9:49 For everyone shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

Parabolic Paraphrase: For everyone will be purified with fire, and every sacrifice will be preserved with the salt thereof.

Isaiah 61:2-3 And the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Hebrews 12:27-29 And this word, Yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which can't be shaken may remain. Wherefore we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.
