This is the year of the Lord's favor for you. No matter when you read or listen to this message, you can receive this prophetic word from the Lord because He is outside of the confines of time and space. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased." Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry… Luke 3:21–23 NIV I heard the Lord say that He is moving right now to bring about chapters 3 and 4 of the Gospel of Luke, where Jesus was baptized and received the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Many people start thinking about making New Year's resolutions this time of year. Have you ever tried to do a New Year's resolution, but by February you've stopped? Or maybe you have things you want to change in your life but don't know where to start?I heard the Lord say, "Get New Year's revelation from Me for your resolution!" Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction. Proverbs 29:18 NIV Getting revelation from God can help you cast off restraints and gain clarity. What this means is you can get a prophetic plan or strategy from the Lord on what area of your life you want to change. Then take practical steps to fulfill it.
We have been under a time of heavy storms and warfare sent from the enemy of our souls. As I have been saying, this is to distract us from what God is preparing and bringing to the Earth right now. It is time to believe and not doubt! In the midst of some of the heaviest trials over the past month, I have also been having some of the most amazing encounters with the Lord. I have had to fight the urge to not fully value these encounters because they came with such a high price tag of attack. This sounds logical, but remember when Peter walked on the water with Jesus? He was also in a time of intense storms, yet in the midst of his amazing supernatural encounter he doubted and began to sink (Matthew 14:22–33 NIV).
Do you know that God brought you into the world for this specific time? People of the past were given a period of time to live and fulfill their purpose on the Earth. Many of them did great things and we can admire and be grateful for them, but their season is over. We are now living in our era. This time is a special moment that God picked—specifically for us to walk the Earth and fulfill our calling. The question is: What are you going to do with your time? Some people are walking around feeling like they have no purpose or destiny, when we've been chosen for such a time as this!
Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who sends the thunderstorms. He gives showers of rain to all people, and plants of the field to everyone … They will pass through the sea of trouble; the surging sea will be subdued and all the depths of the Nile will dry up … Zechariah 10:1, 11 NIV The Lord is going to bring spiritual refreshment like that of the spring rains. This is preparation for the coming year, in which God is releasing the long-awaited fulfillment of the promises you have been holding on to. For many, though, this time of preparation has been too painful and not refreshing. While the rains and storms of life are necessary to prepare and strengthen you, they can sometimes turn into a sea of trouble.
When hard times happen, we may wonder where God is through it all. We can fall into focusing on the pain of our struggle and believing we are alone. Regardless of how we may feel, God never leaves our side. He still speaks to us even when we're at the lowest point of our lives. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV God knows how to encourage us when we feel down and out. But we can be so focused on our difficulty that we can't hear Him clearly. Here are some steps you can take to unclog the spiritual atmosphere around you, so you can start hearing God for your situation and get moving in the right direction!
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11 NIV The Lord is opening the path of life to you and bringing a long-awaited release of supernatural joy. Even though things may appear difficult on the outside, God is working behind the scenes and creating a path for you. Watch for pathways of life and joy to open in the midst of struggles and trials. Don't look at the surface, as God is working beneath it all to bring you into a new season. On the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur (September 19, 2018), I was awakened with a prophetic dream and I had an encounter with the Lord about the coming year.
Do you know that children can have supernatural encounters just like adults? At times, they can even be more sensitive to the heavenly realm than adults. Here are a few things you can do to help the children in your life develop a positive relationship with hearing God—especially through supernatural encounters and dreams! Children are incredibly special to God. They are so special that Jesus specifically welcomed and encouraged children throughout His life. He especially defended the relationship children have with God and instructed adults not to discourage them in their relationship with Him.
September is going to be an awesome time during the Days of Awe. This is a month in which God speaks more clearly to us about the coming year and about our destiny. Each year, during the time of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), God examines our lives for the purpose of promotion. This year it is going to be a special time of promotion! Rosh Hashanah starts at sundown on September 9 and ends at sundown on September 11. Yom Kippur starts on September 18 at sundown and ends on September 19, also at sundown. This is a 10-day period in which the heavens are much more open for dreams, visions, revelation and heavenly encounters.
Are you ready to hear God more clearly? Do you need a breakthrough in an area of your life? We are just a few weeks away from an important time called Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur—the Days of Awe. These holidays celebrate the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), which falls on September 9–11 and continue through the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), which falls on September 18–19 this year. This is a time when the heavens are opened more than usual because God is revealing and releasing your destiny for the coming year! Even though we are no longer under the Jewish Law and God operates on different calendars, this is a wonderful time to hear the voice of God and prepare for the coming season.
