THE GOD OF ELIJAH
by Mike DeLorenzo

(12X15)

   A. This painting has been a history of the last several years of my life, in the way that God provides for His children
  B. Back in 1997 I was on staff at a church and I new it was time to leave and step out in faith. But I remember this fear hit me where is the money going to come from. I new I was to start a home church, but the Lord told me that I couldn’t apply at another church or look for outside income that I had to trust in him totally. At that time I had four children, and a year later the fifth one came, Anna.
  C. I remember I was at a pastors retreat asking the Lord for a word about provision He gave me Psalm 34, which says 4 I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. 6 This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel [a] of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. 8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! 9 Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. 10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing
  D. I new at this point as you seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness that all these things shall be added unto. Those that seek Him shall not lack.

II. The raven feeding me was the 12 years I was on staff at the church, I felt in my heart that the pay check every week was like the Raven bringing me money to pay the bills each week. Plus God also had other sources of provision.
  A. Elijah Fed by Ravens
  B. 2 Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: 3 "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. 4 You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”
  C. 5 So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. 6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook. 1. God had always met every need. The Raven only met Elijah needs. Yet when he was to cross the Jordan he was responsible for a family

III. The miraculous provision A. Elijah and the Widow at Zarephath

    1. 7 Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. 8 Then the word of the LORD came to him: 9 "Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.” 10 So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?” 11 As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread.”
    2. 12 "As surely as the LORD your God lives,” she replied, "I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.’
    3. 13 Elijah said to her, "Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD sends rain on the land.’”
    4. 15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. 16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.

  B. As you can see the water brook dries up in the second scene. There are times in our lives when things dry up… when I was at my previous church for two years I was being pushed out of the nest, yet I new it wasn’t time to go. Than the Wednesday before Thanksgiving in 1996 I was at staff meeting, when I new it was time. This was easy to figure out the senior pastor took all my responsibility away, and as he was stripping me of duty, so to speak, my legs went numb. I ask the Lord, "what’s happening?” The Holy Spirit reminded me of the verse in the Bible; "how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel.” I felt the Lord saying your days of preaching the Gospel in this church is about over. Well you guest it, the water brook was drying up. The Lord had been speaking to me about starting a home church for a while, I wasn’t sure of the timing until this day happened, I was being pushed out of the nest, it was time to fly on my own. I just remember fear coming upon me for about a week. The fear of where is the money going to come from as I step out in faith. Talk about a man of faith – fear, anxiety, stress of the future provision hit me. About a week went by and I was at a prayer meeting and I had a couple friends of mine prayer for me, and as they did the spirit of fear left immediately, and the peace of God came back into my heart. I new that God was going to provide, miraculously. Where about 14 years have gone by and I’ve seen the Lord provide over and over again in a variety of ways.
  C. The almond tree is the pink tree by the gate, in Jeremiah 1:12-13 this is the first tree in Jerusalem to bud. God will hasten His word to perform it, God will do a quick work. Ezekiel talks about the delays of God be no longer… Get ready for what the Lord is about to do.

IV. A prophetic word came to me about 3 years ago, summer of 2008, it’s time to paint the rain by a lady in our church. Yet I just put that word on the shelf, because God hadn’t spoke to me about it.

   A. October of 2010, during one of our Monday morning prayer meetings, the Lord said: ‘it’s time to paint the rain.’ I new exactly what the Lord meant, for I had been thinking of the world for a while.
  B. I new it was a four part painting in a window. Malachi says the windows of God our open
  C. Mal. 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. D. Elijah told the widow that the oil and flour will not run out until the time of the rain. I’ve been asking the Lord for a few years, "Lord when is the rain coming.” The rain fed the nations, it took care of the multitudes. God send the provision that touches the nations, the reaches out a meets the needs of other beyond what I can imagine or think.

    1. I feel that there is hardship coming to this nation, possible food shortage and famine in the day ahead. In pray this past week God was reminding me of Revelation 6 about the third horse, which is the horse of famine. The first two horses have been active for a number years. (with out me going into the details)
    2. Lord let me believe for the multiplication of provision, for the rain of your Holy Spirit in the days ahead. I could share numerous stories about God multiplying food, gas, money, water, gemstones, gold, manna, clothes that you couldn’t get rid of. Over the years I’ve probably heard well over a hundred stories like this, and have experience a few myself. V. Elijah prays for the rain 1 Kings 18 Elijah and Obadiah 1 After a long time, in the third year, the word of the LORD came to Elijah: "Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land.” 2 So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab. 41 And Elijah said to Ahab, "Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” 42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. 43 "Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked. "There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, "Go back.” 44 The seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’” 45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. 46 The power of the LORD came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

  A. I believe that hard times are around the corner, but the church the Elijah company will see God provide in a supernatural way.
    1. Moses fed the 2,000,000 for 40 years, are God is not limited 2. Get ready to see the greatest provision ever to meet the needs of the people

VI. The Lightning in some cases in the Bible is the Father showing up. Get ready for the mighty presence of our God
