A Season of Pentecost and Prosperity by Doug Addison

By Doug Addison
The Pentecost season is almost here. What an exciting time! If you aren't familiar with Pentecost, it coincides with the Jewish festival of Shavuot that takes place 50 days after Passover. For Christians, it also commemorates when the Holy Spirit filled God's people in Acts 2. This year, Shavuot begins on Thursday, May 28, and runs through Saturday, May 30; and Pentecost falls on Sunday, May 31. So, this is an important time on God's calendar and one of the special times during the year when the Heavens are open making it easier to hear the Lord. Pentecost will be a time of greater revelation and power flowing from Heaven.

God Wants You to Prosper

The Lord revealed to me that His desire is for us all to prosper during this year's Pentecost season. In fact, He is releasing Strategies from Heaven to help you do this.

Many people remain skeptical about whether or not God wants them to have money. It's important to know—by itself, money is not evil. It is the love of money that we need to avoid (1 Timothy 6:10).

Money in the hands of a loving person can be used to do great things.

The Kingdom principle of love is found in Matthew 22:36–40. Jesus said, "Love God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself."

When we do that, the money we have will be used to bless others. It's all about getting your heart in the right place so you can prosper in the way God desires you to prosper!

Where is Your Treasure Stored?

What kinds of things do you value? What makes you feel prosperous and successful?

One way to find out your personal priorities is by tracking your spending habits. We spend money on necessities like food, shelter, clothes, etc. But where does our money go after that?

Usually, wherever our money ends up is where we place the most value.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 NIV

The truth is, we put our treasure (spend our money) on the things that are important to us. In this season, God is looking to redirect where you're storing your treasure so you can experience true prosperity.

You Really do Reap what You Sow

Are you investing in yourself, in what you really want?

Remember:Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 2 Corinthians 9:6 NIV

Are you putting money towards your own personal dreams or goals? If you invest your money into what you want, you'll find that you will reap in the place that you're sowing.

Don't hold back when it comes to investing in what the Lord has called you to. God may have sparked the desire for that dream in your heart, but it's up to you to fan the flame!

Remember, God wants to Bless You!

God has promised to bless those who serve Him.

It's funny how easily we can forget this when we turn on the news and see all the bad happening in the world. But God's Word doesn't change just because our circumstances do.

And my God will supply your every need according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 NIV

Every need you have right now will be provided for according to the riches and glory of God—and that's a lot!

This Pentecost season will be one of prosperity! I can't wait to see how this unfolds for you.
