Knowledge by Barbie Breathitt

The importance of imagination far exceeds the scopes of just knowledge, for the expanses of the imagination reach beyond the known world. Before we can fully explore the awakened imagination, we must become familiar with the different knowledges that the imagination uses and draws from, their definition and their significance. Knowledge is defined as the fact or condition of knowing or being aware of something with familiarity that is gained through learning experiences, acquaintances or associations. It encompasses the range of one's learned information or level of understanding.

Knowledge is the ability to apprehend truth and the principles or facts through reasoning abilities in order to gain intellectual awareness of unusual knowledge. Scripture clearly affirms God is the author and source of all knowledge, not man. Talk no more so very proudly; let no arrogance come from your mouth, for the Lord is the God of knowledge; and by Him actions are weighed (1 Samuel 2:3).

God desires us to seek and acquire knowledge. The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge (Proverbs 18:15). That being said, God desires us to seek His knowledge and wisdom first and foremost, not the world's. This relates back to the differing operations of the carnal Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and spiritual minds found in the Tree of Life.

Worldly Knowledge

Worldly or earthly knowledge is considered to be the abbess, the place where the two-headed serpent bites. One head brings forth a positive change, while the other immediately devours by initiating the negative, destructive, prideful demise of man. Man fell from the spirit realm and died when he chose to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When man fell, the glory lifted and man's eyes were opened to see through a filter of sin; they were also turned inward to focus on self. Subsequently, all Adam could see and think about thereafter was his own naked depravity.

All earthly knowledge must be steadfastly rooted in Christ's love in order that we do not become arrogant or haughty; this enslaves us to deception. Paul taught that earthly knowledge puffs up, controls and distorts our perspectives and destroys if it is not firmly grounded in the love of Christ. The love of Christ builds up and edifies; it causes no harm.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (imagine), according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:14-20).

Earthly knowledge absent of the love of Christ is self-serving to its own entity. It is insufficient, full of lust and unable to satisfy. It not only restricts the beholder, but it also impulses the beholder to dominate or yoke others yielding knowledge in a selfish love. For example, an arrogant person often aggressively rails and explodes into an irrational rage when he or she is not able to dominate others or control his or her circumstances. People who operate in haughtiness attempt to force others to comply with their ideology, will or personal desires and whims. If their anger cannot produce the needed fear to accomplish their objective, they resolve to skillfully creating a deceptive web to delude, sabotage and ensnare their victims.

You must be on guard to not allow the weaknesses in your personality or anyone else's to control or dominate you! Instead, invite the Spirit of God's presence and the essence of His truth to manifest, so that you can identify Holy Spirit's desire being birthed within you in order to bring forth a brand new, Christ-like image.

Worldly knowledge is valuable but limited to only what we currently know and understand. Natural man simply cannot create from what is not already known. Yet if knowledge is developed in a spirit of righteousness (positioned in right standing in God's ways) and amplified by our creative imagination, then that type of godly knowledge will lead and guide us to gain spiritual understanding that is only found in God's divine knowledge.

Above all things, God directs us to keep the Sabbaths. Being able to enter into a Sabbath rest with God is the sign He created between Himself and us for generation after generation in order to keep the knowledge alive that He is the God who makes us holy.

The imaginative, creative consciousness of God's light dwelling within us is more important than knowledge. The knowledge we possess is limited to the scope of what we presently know or understand how to produce. Therefore, we need to not only be aware of but also harness His light to press beyond our human margins. While the ingenuity of the imagination has no boundaries, its inspiration and inventiveness are likewise limitless. This arena of recognition is where all things are indeed possible. But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23).

Spiritual Knowledge

God places an extremely high value on the pursuit of spiritual knowledge. It is important to remember that spiritual knowledge is vastly different than academic knowledge. To know something spiritually, we must experience it for ourselves. To obtain spiritual knowledge, we must be transformed into its image by taking on its likeness. We must become it in order to possess and reflect that attribute of Christ. To know something academically is to only hear or read about it and then compare another's thoughts or experiences to our own life experiences. We essentially listen to and analyze what other people tell us about it. This is great information, but it is only secondhand knowledge. It is not transformational.

In order to encounter God and understand His ways, we must seek to embrace a spiritual change that is eternal. To be saved, changed, healed or transformed, a personal touch by the Spirit of God is required. Moses had his burning bush encounter. Paul met God's Merkabah Chariot of light on the road to Damascus. We encounter God, so we can build a relationship with God.

The Spirit of Knowledge gives life-changing revelation and is at the center of the five dimensions of creation. The first being the mercies of God that sustain us with hope; they are new every morning. Secondly, the justice of God empowers us to distinguish who and what is worth fighting for. Thirdly, the peace of God that passes all understanding unlocks us to receive revelation knowledge. Prophetic revelation speaks from the heart of God's perspective as revealed by the Holy Spirit. We are able to see the future as God sees it and to walk in His higher realms of reality and truth. Fourthly, the victory found in God alone empowers us to be constant and persistent in our pursuit to discover the knowledge of the mysteries of God. Then lastly, the indwelling grace of the Spirit of God causes us to prosper and succeed in every area of life for eternity.

Sacrifices end in death, not life. But the sacrifice of Jesus forever changed everything. His resurrection steals life from death. Taking the keys of death, hell and the grave from Satan make it possible for those who trust in Him to offer their bodies—eyes, ears, mouths, hands, feet—to God as a living sacrifice. Believers become a sacrifice and yet live.

Brothers and sisters, in light of all I have shared with you about God's mercies, I urge you to offer your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice to God, a sacred offering that brings Him pleasure; this is your reasonable, essential worship. Do not allow this world to mold you in its own image. Instead, be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete (Romans 12:1-2).

The Spirit of Knowledge is listed in Scripture as the sixth gateway (mansion) of light. When this spiritual gateway is open, it funnels heavenly revelation into us. Each of these seven individual, fiery gates mentioned in Isaiah and Revelation offer us access to a broader, more comprehensive and mature expression of who God is and how He operates in the Holy Spirit.

This allows us to shift from operating in a gifting level to an office level of fullness where all the limitations are taken off, and we step into a level of Christ ministry. We progress from a word of knowledge to the Spirit of Knowledge. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Might, the Spirit of Knowledge and of the Reverential Fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2).

Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose (Psalm 25:12).

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you (Psalm 32:8).

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this (Psalm 37:5)

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. They do no wrong but follow His ways (Psalm 119:1,3).

Teach me, LORD, the way of Your decrees, that I may follow it to the end (Psalm 119:23).

Cause me to understand the way of Your precepts, that I may meditate on Your wonderful deeds (Psalm 119:27).

I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart (imagination) to think on Your laws (Psalm 119:30).

As beneficiaries of Christ Jesus, Believers enter into God's creative abilities and divine structure to manifest God on earth. In God's glorious presence (seeing Him), we develop into His image. We understand how to access the glory to essentially invent everything we need. By growing in the knowledge and ways of God's glory, we usher in the new eras of God to manifest Him in a broader, different and more profound manner. And Hezekiah gave encouragement to all the Levites who taught the good knowledge of the Lord (2 Chronicles 30:22).

Godly knowledge begets expansion. Out from the throne came flashes of lightning and rumblings and peals of thunder, and in front of the throne, seven blazing torches burned, which are the Seven Spirits of God, the sevenfold Holy Spirit (Revelation 4:5).Godly knowledge grants us the spiritual insights necessary for us to have the upper hand in life, providing an advantageous edge. We become adroit, clever and skillful in using our hands and imagination to advance into God's storehouse of infinite abundance.

Believers who have divine knowledge possess spiritual understanding and practice God's divine aptitudes become leaders; they have access to the unlimited mind of Christ, His wisdom and all that He knows. Men and women who possess divine knowledge are favored over others. They are chosen to lead depending on the degree of knowledge and integrity they possess. So, I took the heads of your tribes, wise and knowledgeable men, and made them heads over you, leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties, leaders of tens, and officers for your tribes (Deuteronomy 1:15).

True knowledge can also come at a great price. Innovators, for example, are willing to suffer rejection and endure persecution in order to introduce others to a new, productive idea, a revolutionary discovery or to develop some cutting-edge concept. As it is with the natural, so it is with the spiritual. A higher degree of spiritual knowledge also comes with much suffering and persecution instituted by family members, friends or those who do not have the equal level of understanding. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life (Matthew 19:29).

Who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life (Mark 10:30).

To acquire real knowledge about Christ, we must be willing to unlearn and renounce what was taught to us by man. Like the innovator who discounts and releases others' not likely thinking or opposition to new ways of thinking, the obtainment of knowledge requires us to let go of falsehoods, erroneous thoughts and some traditional beliefs. That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death (Matthew 19:29).

Because we are justified by faith in Christ, we are enlightened to enter into a realm of supernatural peace. In this condition of peace, we become conscious of anything that may be warring against us or anything that may be causing chaos in our sphere of influence (people, circumstances, choices). We are then able to ask the Christ within to help us recognize or discern the root cause of the issue. In His grace and mercy, the Prince of Peace gives knowledge, wisdom and discernment to whomever asks.

When revelation comes as promised, everything unlovely that we have become passive about is realized. We must be careful not to be critical or judgmental of ourselves in the midst of the illumination. It is for peace and freedom in Him that God exposes what keeps us in bondage. We need to simply repent of any known sins, renounce the embracing of a wrong belief and reject it. Then pray for the wisdom necessary to change what was previously believed.

As long as your soul continues to react to the rhetorical situations in your life as well as others' adverse responses with the very same damaging thoughts or actions, you will remain trapped in a destructive loop that generates the exact same cycles of undesirable responses. The remarkable grace of God brings salvation to all men. His grace teaches us to reject ungodliness and worldly, immoral desires and to live upright, sensible, godly lives that reflect spiritual maturity.

Our truth is redefined and elevated when we break free of all the unlovely thoughts that defile us as well as the criticisms from others or even ourselves that justify us living in the lower levels of existence. Embracing a higher knowledge and truth empowers us to ascend another rung on a spiritual ladder to a loftier position. It is essential to agree and realign your thoughts with a larger measure of truth as you dwell in an advanced level of Christ consciousness.

We attract what we place our focus upon. Therefore, focus your attention on learning more about the creative Christ within the imagination. How does one attain and maintain a proper focus to achieve this? By doing all things without complaining and disputing, we become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:14-15).
