When Jesus sent out His disciples, He gave them clear, practical instructions: Heal the sick, cast out demons… But there was something else—something often overlooked yet incredibly powerful. He told them: "Let your peace rest on the home you enter." This wasn't a casual gesture. It was a spiritual impartation—a divine connection to the living God being extended to whoever received them. This peace wasn't mere calm. It was shalom—a supernatural wholeness that encompassed favor, mercy, safety, joy, and prosperity. And it carried weight. It shifted atmospheres. It caused people to notice, to hunger, to desire more. That presence was tangible. You carry that same peace.
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:19 We are standing at the threshold of historic change—both for the world and for God's people. God is redefining everything in our time. He declares, "I am doing a new thing. "The word new means that something has never been done before. God then confronts with the challenge: "Do you not perceive it?"
God is anointing our ears to hear a new sound. It's heaven touching earth—the sound of answers to prayer, on the way! And it comes with grace and comfort for every circumstance: "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."(Jeremiah 33:3, NKJV) Recently, as we were praying, Elijah's words came to mind: "…there is the sound of abundance of rain." (1 Kings 18:41b) It wasn't just a phrase—it was an alert. A summons. "Listen!" "Listen, for I have given you ears to hear. I am tuning your spiritual hearing to the sound of what I'm about to do."
Paul wrote: "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons." (1 Corinthians 10:21) The same is true today. We can attend church and profess Christ, but if our hearts remain divided, we cannot walk in the fullness of God's prophetic destiny. After the resurrection, two disciples encountered Jesus on the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24). They had walked with Him for years, yet they didn't recognize Him. They were talking about Him, reflecting on His ministry, but were blinded by disappointment:
The amazing dynamic of sonship is co-laboring—learning to release what Father adds. Sons are learning the power of flowing with Kingdom Purpose and overflowing with an anointing to bring Heaven to earth. What is flow? There is an engineering principle of cooperating with nature so that energy or fruit is produced and our environment works for us, not against us. For example, planting seeds leads to free fruit. Building dams leads to free electricity and free irrigation water. God's Kingdom is like the garden of Eden – it produces naturally; we eat for free because our Father provides for us if we can plant.
Do you ever feel like life is complicated? It's not supposed to be complicated. Jesus gave His life so we could have joy (John 10:10), not live complicated, frustrated lives. Complication steals joy and creates frustration. I have a lot going on, and it can become complicated if I let it. We have hundreds of employees and travel around the world…I have books to write and speaking engagements. It's sometimes hard to enjoy it all.
Have you ever felt completely paralyzed, wondering which way to go? I have. I remember a time, a couple of years ago, when Steve and I were hiking. A storm was brewing in the sky, and somehow, we kept choosing the wrong path back to our car. We ended up wandering in the forest for a couple of hours. We definitely got our steps in—that's for sure! Getting lost in the woods is one thing, but it can feel far more challenging when we feel lost in life. Perhaps we feel paralyzed, wondering which way is the right way to move forward.
"And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book: but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name" (John 20:30-31). "In Him was life; and the life was the light of men" (John 1:4). "For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself" (John 5:26).
In a world full of noise with constant notifications, endless commentary, and conversations that often feel more like competitions, true listening is becoming a lost art. We hear just enough to respond, but rarely enough to understand. We listen long enough to defend our point, but seldom long enough to discern someone's heart. Yet throughout Scripture and in the life of Jesus, we see a different way: the way of holy listening.
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 When our Lord stood in the synagogue in Nazareth and read from the book of Isaiah, He proclaimed the acceptable year of the Lord and stopped reading just before the words, "and the day of vengeance of our God." In doing so He showed us how to rightly divide the Word of God as today's Scripture, 2 Timothy 2:15, instructs us to do. He made it precisely clear that we are in the age of grace.
