Psalm 63:5 "My soul will be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips." We live in a society that is geared to look for satisfaction in so many things – whether it is in what they have, where they live, a title, power or who they are associated with. But there is only one place we can find contentment and our true identity. That place and person is God Himself. When you truly find satisfaction in the Presence of God nothing else really matters. One of the Ten Commandments is "thou shalt not covet." What is covetousness? It is the yearning to possess something and never being satisfied with what you have. It is a continual cycle of dissatisfaction.
Psalm 46:4 "There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High." Did you know that God has a frequency? We have to tune in to His frequency to hear what He is saying. One of the best ways to do this is to recognize that not everything is on His frequency. The world has it's own station. On that station you can find all that represents sin and the works of the flesh. But on God's frequency you discover all that is part of His domain – the glory of heaven. To tune into God's channel you have to get off other channels. Just about everything has a source of inspiration. That billboard you passed on the road the other day had inspiration behind it. Most everything has a voice and speaks to us – or at least tries to.
Agreement in prayer is one of the most powerful weapons we can use – such an amazing promise that Jesus gave us.  He told us that when we come together "in agreement" that He would be there in the midst of us. We should always want Jesus to be with us in this way.  When we come together in agreement God honors the prayer and brings forth the promise. Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."
Genesis 1:1"In the beginning God created…" This year of 2018 is going to be a year of Genesis, of new creation, even new beginnings signified by the number 8.  2017 was a year of completion and bringing things to a close – even things that needed resolution for many years. 2018 will also be a year of fulfillment of promises and expansion with an emphasis on Kingdom Advancement. Be encouraged as this year approaches – God wants to put you right where you belong so that you can have an impact in your God appointed place.
Ephesians 4:23-24 "...and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness." Renewal is such a powerful experience - something we are to experience daily as we spend time in His Presence.  Renewal takes place as we are engaged in our devotion to the Lord, by communing with His Holy Spirit.  It is the relationship that brings renewal - and the Word of God is used in that process. The religious leaders in Jesus day did not recognize Him as they should have, because they were "experts" in the scriptures, rather than excelling in relationship with God, they failed to see Jesus for Who He was.
In the past month before the Jewish new year up to Yom Kippur there were some intense battles going on in the spirit realm. Many felt personal turmoil, then just a general spiritual resistance to their lives. Since then there has been a crossing over into a new place of blessing, rest and peace. There was a definite bending of the bow and release of God's arrow that had taken out much resistance.  Many felt like they were the bow being bent!  God shot His arrow through them.  The week after Yom Kippur I heard the Lord say that "We've passed through the fire and have come out pure as gold."
Luke 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bears what is good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bears what is evil. For of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." This is a picture of just how simple it is to fill our lives with either the good or the bad stuff.  All we have to do is choose the GOOD TREASURE to put in our hearts.  After we've done this only the good treasure can flow out of our lives. Amazingly simple isn't it? We all have a choice. When we walk in the wisdom of God we will make the right choices and it will overflow into our account. We are literally storing up the good treasure of His glory and truth in our hearts. God wants us to be so overflowing with the good treasure of heaven inside of us that it flows like a river to all that surrounds us.
Intercession is the spiritual engine of our lives that enables God to do what He, in most cases, will not do without it. Our intercession bridges the gap between heaven and earth to allow the manifestation of God's Kingdom in our present time. The Lord calls us to the place of intercession continually. It is not something He turns off and on. Romans 8:34 "It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us." It is a matter of tapping into the reality that Jesus is continually engaged in this intercession for His people. He ever lives to intercede for us, the saints. If we want to get close to the heart of God then we have to embrace a life of intercession.
What is your obstacle? Is there a pattern you are needing to break? You can accomplish more with less. Believing prayer is better than begging prayer.  Prayers of faith rather than prayers from a place of wandering. God clearly spoke to us recently on how "faith-filled" prayer is the key to answers. Instead of praying from a place of trying to get God to do something, pray from the place of what God has already accomplished. He is the Beginning and End.
Psalm 26:8 "LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells." We are so blessed to be the chosen people created before the foundation of the world to be the habitations of God. We are the privileged people designed to be vessels of His surpassing glory. God calls us to enter into the fullness and simplicity of this life. Religion makes things complex. Jesus simplifies. Life in Him is simple, but sacrificial. There are verses in the scriptures that are keys and unlock the blessings of many other promises of God revealed in the scriptures.
