Did you know that you and I are called and commissioned by the word of God to be an "Agent of Unity?" Matthew 5:9 says "Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor regardless of their outward condition) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons/daughters of God!" Unity in the Greek means to be united in soul, of one mind, one accord; to be co-spirited joined close together in tight identification. Peacemaker definition: A person who helps others solve a conflict and reach a peaceful solution; a person who tries to create harmony or make peace.

I truly believe that this is exactly what the world needs more of today. This doesn't necessarily mean that we agree on everything, it simply means that we, on purpose, chose to remain at peace with one another, respecting each other's views on different topics while remaining true to the conviction of our own hearts. I can honestly say that this has always been a desire of my heart, to bring a peace that helps calm a storm, to help others see that there can be unity between people that see things differently. Romans 12:6-8 says (paraphrasing) that we are one body in Christ however we each have been given different talents and gifts that differ according to the grace given us, let us use them. It goes on to share the different types of gifts/talents and that we are to use them according to the proportion of our faith.
Be a Peacemaker
Even though I may not fully understand your gift or talent and you may not fully understand mine, we can certainly agree that we're a part of the body of Christ and agree that each gift, talent and part is vital to the body as a whole. The truth is, I need your gift and you need mine as long as we are operating in our gifts/talents in love according to the word. Without love, we are nothing, without showing and being love to one another then our gifts are not profiting anyone. How can I encourage one and turn around and curse the other for this is like oil and water, they do not mix well together. I choose to be better at being a peacemaker, being one that helps calm the storm in the lives of people, or the storm that may be raging within themselves. I choose to be kind, walk in love and believe the best in the one I am looking at regardless of their outward condition and my prayer is that others will be the same for me.
Have a beautiful day and on purpose, walk in peace with yourself and be a peacemaker everywhere you go.
Love,
Shauna Carrington

Psalm 118:23-24 captivates me! I love when I wake in the morning hearing His loving kindness ministering to my heart. I love that we serve a God that has given us the ability to choose, the question is, "What will we choose this day?" Psalm 118:23-24 in the Passion says, "The Lord himself is the one who has done this, and it's so AMAZING, so MARVELOUS to see! 24 This is the day of the Lord that brings GLADNESS and JOY, filling our hearts with glee." Don't you just love this passage of scripture...His promise to you and I!

A few Saturdays ago I woke up fairly early and went on my walk at the park. As I began to walk I asked the Lord to lead me by His Spirit, that I would pray according to His heart, not mine and His plan, not mine. I committed to just pray in the spirit knowing that the Holy Spirit is the revealer of truth and He would sound in me the profound and bottomless things of God according to 1 Corinthians 2:9. As I was finishing up my last mile I heard these words rise up in my spirit, "You have entered into a new season. It's a season of reaping because of the weeping." I recall thinking, "Was that me??" and then I heard it again, "A season of reaping because of the weeping!"

Philippians 4:13 (TPT) paraphrasing, "I am trained in the secret of overcoming all things. I find that the strength of Christ's explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty." What does it mean to possess an overcoming spirit? According to Philippians 4:13 in the Strong's Concordance it means, "Engaging the Resistance." This refers to the Lord strengthening you and I with combative, confrontative force to achieve all He gives faith for. This is, facing necessary resistance that brings what the Lord defines is success.
